  1. BTW Chris, where are the pictures from your jungle trip??? We're all pretty curious or at least am I ;-)
  2. Ramon, there is actually an invert function in the 235 menu. But it means you invert only the text of the OSD from white to black... As far as I know, there is no electronic function to flip the image upside down. But I know, you can adjust the IVS mechanically. That means you can move and rotate. But I'm not shure if you can rotate it 180. Try it. You'll find the alignment knobs right below the viewfinder on the right side. Cheers, Lukas
  3. I'm wondering if Julian has received twice his daily rate for that job. Absolutely crazy in my mind. One F23 with acc. is pain enough.
  4. John, read this: http://www.studiodaily.com/studiomonthly/reviews/7654.html
  5. Richard, check the power! If it's too low, errors like you described could happen. Maybe a power loss through cables or receiver!? Just check it. Good luck. Lukas
  6. Haha, that looks like the United States against Switzerland ;-) Funny stuff, Robert and Rob!
  7. Ha! Amando, you know that I cannot compete against you. Everybody knows, you are the hottest and toughest guy in Europe ;-) C'ya :-)
  8. I'll try to make it this year...
  9. Louis, this link has already been posted here: http://www.steadicamforum.com/forums/index...?showtopic=8194 (scroll down to Lawrence Karman's post) Anyway, it's still funny :-) ...even funnier for you not-German-speaking guys. For me it is difficult to concentrate on the subtitles while hearing something very different. Btw. it's a pretty impressive movie (the original not the fake!) about the downfall of Hitler (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363163) Cheers, Lukas
  10. Marell doesn't produce their CRTs anymore. Understandably... Go for an LCD. Their not that expensive anymore - as long you don't need a super bright HD-monitor. Also, look for a battery-mount on the back of the LCD - it helps keeping the familliar weight for rig balancing. Cheers, Lukas
  11. Thank you all for the good time at Mo's. It was a pleasure to meet you guys. And many thanks to Jim for the settlement :-) I'm already back in Switzerland - back to work... See you next time. Cheers, Lukas
  12. Hey guys, I'm happy to be in LA this and the next week and attending the After Cinegear gathering this year :-) Hope to see all of you guys there. Now Erwin won't be the only Swiss Steadicam Operator in town ;-) C'ya. Cheers. Lukas
  13. Hey Chris, late but still permitted to congratulate you ;-) Happy birthday from me too! Cheers, Lukas
  14. And for everybody that missed Chris on the handsfree transporter at NAB, here's the video proof! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cw6NTTb2EOo Btw, perfect posture, Chris ;-) Cheers, Lukas
  15. ...and we all should change our hand holding above the gimbal with a very tight grip ;-)
  16. I agree with Charles here. For myself, I try to get a DB as good my prep time allows me. I don't push batteries and camera around till the PM gets crazy. And I mainly work with the same rig, so my adjustments are almost the same everytime. An experienced and good operator (like many here, including Charles) are able to fly absolutely stable without anything like dynamic balance. And I think, DB is more important when flying a light setup. With heavy cameras you have more inertia and therefore more a feeling of control. Also, when you're doing just a walk n' talk walking one way without much panning, there is almost no need for perfect DB. If you're going fast, panning fast (whips) and do that with a flyer...definitely take time to get your rig into a good dynamic balance. Cheers. Lukas
  17. Hello Svend, I'm not shure if it's the same with the Flyer monitor, but try it the following way: - turn the monitor off - press buttons "Down" and "Up" and hold them. Then press the "Power" button. - press "Down" to switch off the Safety Mode. - press "Power" to save it. Should work. Cheers Lukas
  18. I'd be glad to get some updates about the F35 from you guys visiting NAB. It's a very interesting cam with a huge price (250'000$). Pictures, information, facts, whatever... Cheers, Lukas - not being able to get to NAB this year, but happy to visit Cine Gear in June ;-)
  19. Yeah, it looks like it could be possible in near future. You go like: I take that box of M6 screws and one of those zeroG arms, please. No bag thank you. ;-)
  20. Peter, it's amazing what stuff your creating. As well that remote p/t head (on youtube), not bad. Of course it isn't something you can use for professionnel exertion, but for low/no budget projects it's great, I guess. You're pretty talented. Are you shure you wanna be a steadicam operator and not an engineer at some cam tech company. I'm little jealous ;-) Good luck. Lukas
  21. Hi Tim, at first welcome to the forum. Actually those unexpensive transmitters really work, but not as good on moving objects like a steadicam. A security cam (which they're used for) is fixed on a location. Once you have the perfect frequency and TX level everything works fine. On a steadicam it has to be more stable to be useful for videoassist and/or director. The best is to use a diversity receiver which switches inbetween two different frequencies (such as wireless microphones). The other problem is the output power of those mentioned transmitters. Mostly they are too strong for use on short distances and especially inside. The more output power the more strong reflections on walls, etc. I read those transmitters may reach 8 km...that's quite a lot! Probably not even allowed (in UK?). Upshot: cheap transmitters work for less money but with many interferences...not my recommendation. Best. Lukas
  22. Aloha Mark, I'm not shure if you can flip the image upside down. But I know there is a "scan reserve" function you can turn on when using an 35mm adaptor. Well...if I think correctly it should do the same effect to the image, doesn't it? Best. Lukas
  23. Hey Rob, you're actually driving a Swiss car. It's a Swiss invention built by Germans. And I'm shure Erwin will know this car as well. Good choice :-) Funny that I'm driving US Chevrolet in Switzerland. Cheers. Lukas
