Hi Jason! i agree with michael stumpf, in every single point. i have being operating on miami for five years now and the bussines is not even close to the volume i had when i arrive from italy in 98. lets say 2/5 of what i used to make a year. i had two provids one was rented full time to univision untill december and the other one i had to sell it because there was no Bussines for it. i m thinking in selling the last provid, if i dont send it back to south america to start producing,$$$$$. and keep only my master film and ultra for the little jobs with stupid budgets , that i still do in miami. DSD Back mounted vest serial number 30 only worn by me for no more than one week on a feature. i purchased it thinking that the 535 would be easier on my torso for the whole length of the show but i found out that after 11 years of operating, i only feel very comfortable, with my master series vest, even though the job is fifty (50)% easier with the DSD vest. it comes in kevlar carbon color and the arm is carbon fiber 2nd generation. The shell size is a perfect fit on my waste, i weight 205 lbs and my waste size is 36 american and my height 5.9. but off course it can be adjusted beacause it comes with several pads in different sizes for the sides, and the rear pading has the optional air blader that can also be adjusted for a perfect fit. the only arm failure i have witness was here in miami when an operator from new york called ian wolfson smith was shooting a show that came down for a week or two. and i got a call from the camera rental to rent them my low mode bracket for the 535 so i went to this location to deliver the bracket and just when i was watching a rehersal and waiting for ian to introduce myself and give the bracket to him. there was this huge bang. it was the spring on his 3a first stage arm that blow up in 3 pieces.he ended up renting my master arm for a week.one thing that i want to clarify is that none of this parts went out from the actual arm. so i dont see why people should use eye protection, i have being operating for almoust 13 years now, and i have never had a spring failure.

the operator in the shots at the hotel and the kitchen was david kimelman one of the operators here in miami. i worked in italy several times with the DP from the crew, Juan ruis Anchia very talented DP from spain, allways looking for a challenging shot to assign to you.

I followed the whole discusion and i was very neutral since i dont know any of the partys involved on this issue, and i also happened to feel the rage of not being paid by my services or my overtime at some time during my profession. But when i witnessed what (steve byro} did by making false votes to get only. money, rather than respect. i can only see him as a greedy person who doesnt deserve either, my attencion,bussines or Respect.
