  4. Thanks Marc, and Rich! Very nice of you guys. I'm 100% sure it was me. Well, 50% me and 50% my dolly grip, Greg Brooks (my memory is a bit sketchy, I'm pretty sure that's his name). Marc, Shotmaker I wish. I hopped off a barely-stopped flatbed Kawasaki Mule which immediately took off, out of the shot. The valet standing by the entrance covered some light stand. Greg literally pulled and steered me through the house. I could not have done the interior part without him. I think we did the shot six or seven times. btw, I just found this post after searching for my old website, which seems to have vanished.
  5. I don't check in here too often. When I finally took a look today this thread made me update my info so I could make this post. I too am saddened by this news of Bob's passing. I'm one of those who was inspired by his full page ads in AC. When I was getting started, didn't have much money, and wanted to buy my gear there were only four or five used rigs which I could find for sale - in the world. The one that fit my budget was one of Bob's old model 3's. I drove all the way out here to L.A., from Denver, to check it out and pick it up. It was a quick trip, but I do remember he was very helpful, answered all my questions and even let me call him back later, several times, with more questions. I used that monster for a number of years till I was forced to replace it. In my own mind at least, I've thanked him ever since for helping me get started. Thanks, Bob. R.I.P. - John
  6. Steve, I accept your offer to return my equipment to me, free and clear, at a Steadicam Guild gathering in the Los Angeles Area, the time (as soon as possible, with two weeks advance notice) and place of which to be determined by Guild officers. After speaking with David Grove about it (the person who usually organizes the "meetings") he said he'd consult with Dan Kneece (another Guild organizer) and they'd come to a decision on a time and place as soon as possible. - John Hankammer
