Yeah! But let him try it when you use the handsfree....!That would hurt!!! Guido "good thing I didn't bring my wife to NAB" Lux

From what I know, will put his Preston on the lower sled in order to move more weight to the bottom!Therefor he had to extend his motorcables and run them up his post! This is no problem (you don't feel a difference while operating) as long as the cables don't interfere with you hand and grip! I have done live shows on a triaxcable and it worked great! The only thing is that they let you stand there for almost 3 hours without giving you a real break : "Guido, maybe you can use the commercial breaks to hang up the rig and take a break!?" Believe me, after 3 hours on the show without a real break(all this after 3 hours of rehearsal before...) you decide that maybe you should have told the director/producer how seriously important breaks are with this piece of new equipment!! Hi Erwin! After having the AR/Nexus for more than half a year, I can just second what Ramon and Gustavo said!!!!It is a great piece of equipment and once you're used to it it works great! The slight drift in level every once in a while(as pointed out by my two colleagues) will probably be gone with the V2 electronics!! Also the Nexus without the AR is the best sled I've tried so far!The gimbal is the best and I love the 4stagepost!! And NO discount on the AR!!!You want EXTRA,you pay EXTRA!!!I'd rather leave it at home than give it away for free!! The only problem I have with the kit is the Panasonic monitor! But Howard knows this and is looking for the perfect mating of picturequality and lightness!! He'll find the right one soon and I was even promised the upgrade for free (same as the V2 upgrade!!!) So only some very minor complaints(if you can call it that!?) and a lot of good (even great) things to say about the AR/Nexus! Customer service is good!Sometimes a bit slow but we all know that Howard is doing so much developing and testing...!But I bet if you really need a livesaver Howard and his crew will be there!!! Hard Mount to Golf Cart... balancing advice
Guido Lux replied to Tammy Jones's topic in Vehicles and Mounts
Hi Mikko! That's a tough one!You have to find the perfect middle! If its windy you'd use more droptime but then the inertia of the sled will catch up with you when accellerating and braking! You really have to try!If you don't need a perfect start or stop, give it more droptime!! My 2 cents! Guido "Mr.Golfcart" Lux PS: Or try it with a handsfree... -
Hi there! Want my SCORPIO?!It's in europe too... Guido Lux

Hi guys1 I bought a 2 metre carbon fibre (15,mm) at a kite-store for about $30. The best and cheapest way and they work like a charm!I use them instead of the regular aluminum ones for motors and mattebox! Guido "carbon for ever" Lux

Guys! Jeff is so right!! If the producer can't afford a focuspuller, that means he can't afford steadicam!!!You have to have the balls to tell him that!!If he wants a quality production, he has to pay the price for quality! I know what you gonna say: but then someone else is going to do it without a focuspuller!! Then let them do it!The more ops say NO, the better for all of us!! Learn how to say no, please!!! Guido "had to learn myself" Lux

Well, since I don't work for ULIK (who invented the handsfree) I can't really give you any important technical info!I do know that the handsfree is based on the original handsfree and a large part of the price comes from the additional patends!! About your concerns towards the handsfree - You do have to practice before you can do great shots but once you really get used to it you don't have to really think about the driving! It becomes natural! And by the way, you can be a lot faster than running with the rig! Anyway, if you have the time stop by and give it a try! It's a lot easier than you might think!! cheers, Guido

Hi Rob! What a location...!If you ever need a second op - don't hesitate to call! I'm a little jealous! Guido "sick of the snow" Lux

Count me in and let me know when!!Damn! That's gonna be a lot of beer...or should I bring my own from germany!?!?!What the h...!Hope to see everybody there!! cheers Guido

It's 12500?'s !I know it's a lot of money but it can be really useful investment! You can do perfectly smooth starts and stops...long walks or even runs...!They used it to push or pull a rickshaw...you could even attach lights etc. plus you don't have to carry all the weight!! I will defenitely get one as soon as I have the money!! For you guys in england you might wanna give Howard (MK-V) a call!!He's a reseller and has a handsfree to demo (and I bet he will let you have a try!?). Guido "not always handsfree" Lux
