  1. I'd check sachtler's monitor bracket. I believe they told me it was 15mm at a trade show a few years back. I know the XCS isn't 15mm because I use it. I have never used the sachtler bracket. I looked it up but could not confirm my possible recollection. It's a start. If not buy the XCS 1.5 clamp and visit you friendly neighborhood machinist.
  2. Congrats Jacques!! 19 happy years with the same sled is an amazing achiement and quite an indorsement for PRO. I wish you many more happy years flying it. Aaron
  3. Hi Russ, Thank you for sharing your story. Get well soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you. All my best, Aaron
  4. That looks like VFX to me. Not that they didn't use a Steadicam. But they wouldn't need to. It's amazing if it was shot practically.
  5. The topic says it all. Text me at 917-714-3686 if you have one. I'm at cine magic stage in williamsberg. Thanks, Aaron
  6. Eric, What kind if weight can that handle? We have a pretty nice Epic setup with master primes. It weight about the same as a stripped down Alexa in present form. Do you think it can handle it? Thanks, A
  7. I need to do a low low mode shot with an Epic. 13 inches off the ground. Does anyone make a 8 inch riser? Or lower-er for my use? Before we all start suggesting alternatives to doing the shot. I have a PRO2 which I upgraded to HD before PRO released their HD upgrade. I can't use a super post for the shot because it's not compatible with my sled do to age of sled and my HD conversion. I also can't do the shot hard mounted to a dolly. If some one in NY has something that would work I'd love to rent it today and tomorrow. I'd also buy it. Thanks, Aaron Text me at 917-714-3686
  8. Damn my secret is out. As long as no one finds out I'm more then 2 thousand years old everything will be ok......double Damn!!
  9. I have number 5. So 2 years?? The numbers are guess. I don't keep track of exact dates. My accountant does. Thanks for setting me straight Eric. I wouldn't want the forum members thinking I'm a time traveler.

  11. It's funny john it like that camera is both head of it's time and stuck in the past. The Image quality is outstanding better than anything else out there, BUT there is no where to record, process/exhibit the true 8K. And the camera body design is something that a production designer from the 80's would have drawn up based on the motion picture cameras of the time. So I think we will see more of it, but hopefully in a package closer to the Alexa. Eric - it did suck especially the 12 hours of hand held followed by a 1 1/2 page oner to end the 14+ hour day.
  12. I didn't do the build up but our hand held set up was 55lbs. brutal and inhumane. The stripped down steadicam setup was in the range of an arricam so not bad. sorry didn't weigh it. It's big and there isn't a lot of surfaces to mount things to, so get a prep day if you can. There is also not a lot of clearance at the rear of the mounting plate which make ballancing and low mode tricky. Eat your wheaties.

  15. Hi all, I'm the one Alec refers to. Alan, I believe both is the answer to your question. The Bnc is becoming a live ground, to the monitor in my case frying my HDSdi bored because there is no breaker. This causes the bored to be receiving more then twelve volt. I can't say for certain but I would guess it's getting 12 addition volts. The batteries also go down because of the back feeding of voltaging into the battery through the bnc. To avoid this, you have to be in 12 volt mode or be running the BNC into something using the same power source. Anyway, that's my understanding. If someone know different. please chime in. Oh and it diesn't matter that is was a Boxx. I was using a wevi. I think this will happen with any accessory that pass power through it at 12 volt, then is run in series. Aaron
  16. If that is what peter wrote to you, it is gospel.
  17. This vest was my back up/tight spaces vest. I bought a new Sachtler ACT2 front mount vest a few months ago, hence this one's for sale sale. Check out the pictures. I modified the vest. changing clasps, adding rear straps and a velcro "stabilizer" in the back that sandwiches the four pieces together. This eliminated the quick release, which I have and can be put back on if you wish. it is included with the sale of the vest. Basically, when I bought the vest I tried to make it in the image of my old PRO vest. It's been a few years so I don't remember if I changed all the velcro, but I definitely changed all that need to be changed. I have only used the vest a dozen or so times since. I use my Klassen 99.9% of the time. Of course, this vest is old and I'm sure it has seen a lot of use by it previous owner(s). PM with questions Thanks, Aaron
  18. I hope your arm continues it's excellent performance. My g70 arm was working great then one day the sticktion problem surfaced out of now where. I had the upgrade done and now all is well.
  19. I'm not the authority in this area. But My answer is No. Many of us use ACF50 on our arms. But I should add, check you arms balance. If each bone is not equal squeaking can be a side effect.
  20. Alec, Let me know if one comes to NYC. I'm very interested, too. Thanks everybody for taking the time to do the write ups.
