  1. when I first bought my rig. I practiced every day I wasn't working, as a gaffer or Op. That's right, I didn't take a steadicam day until I knew I could operate with it well enough to earn the money. I was already in local 600 as an operator. Then, I did freebies, basically freebies, and student films. But now that I work on a regular basis, I don't practice. I should though, there is always something new coming your way. I tend to work out on my off days. As far as sucking, we all have our off days. I feel steadi oping is like sports, mostly mental. Of course, we all have to put in the work and effort, but once our bodies are trained and we understand framing, only our mind a can beet us. If you believe you can do it and can visualize the shot, you will succeed. if you think you suck and can't do it. you will fail. Anyway, that line of thinking works for me. Aaron
  2. Erwin, If you're looking for small. I would recommend a TOYOTA MATRIX. The back seats fold down allowing for a Magliner JR and all my cases to fit with room for additional gear. My windows are tinted. It get 34 MPG HW and 28 city. Also I can take parkway or non commercial routes. Con: You can't role in and out. It works great for me. Best, Aaron
  3. CONS...It doesn't exist. PROS.......Is a form of descriptive writing implemented by Novelists. And don't call me shirley!!!!!
  4. We just had one on a feature. I used my bartech. The AC loved the C-motion until the one crane day. It was 40 degrees F the lens was stiff and the C-motion would not self calibrate. We ended up using my SLD with the crane guys bartech. The shot looked much better in focus. After that day the AC stopped bugging me to buy a C-motion. I assume this was a problem with the motor not he C-motion itself, but I was told that the motor was the only one available. Though, they may have meant from this particular rental house. I'm not sure what motor it was. I'll try to find out.

  7. Hello ladies and gents, I'm going to Timbuktu........no seriously I am. So Sahara desert, I have the arm protection and will cover all things open to protect from sand. I am wondering if I should leave the modulus at home. Can it take the heat? Also my rig is all black should I make khaki covers for my TB-6, Bar tech receivers, and batteries? In addition to keeping it is the shade when I'm not rolling? Is there anything I'm over looking? And works of wisdom. This is a 35mm feature film. Thanks in advance, Aaron

  10. I wear EMS wicking shirts and pants. Shoe from Merril, Garmont, and Vasque. But most important is Superfeet insoles. The Pants are too loud for a tender dramatic scene, but they are great out sid, or for any music/live events. Aaron Medick
