  1. Guys - this is a thread about the Bolan monitor. I just asked marianne to start a thread about the new Transvideo. Not here please!
  2. Brett, In the future, I do have a Rickshaw. You should really pickup your own vehicle mount though as it IS NOT included with Rickshaws, ATVs, etc. Plus, you can use it to mount to speedrail or Bazooka on a Doorway/Western Dolly (or any dolly for that matter).
  3. I have a 2000 as well. The 300 is making its way on set more and more though (versus the Boxx standard) so you can't really go wrong with any of them
  4. You can take it off the post via a Kipp handle or just pull the rods out. There is no safety so its quick! (And a safety is not really needed since its held by four attachments - you'd have to blow through two stop signs sort of speak).
  5. I'd love one of those cameras for my mantle….. I almost bought an Arri 3C or a Compact at the Otto auction the other year to replace the Bolex that holds that spot now. Alas, the prices climbed a bit too high to justify (but still absurdly low). Ahhh, film…….
  6. John Smith 2015???? Why does this strike me as an alias? Please advise of your real name as it is our policy. Thank you.
  7. To clarify (I own both), the Atlas weighs a tiny bit more than the Titan (with only two springs in it obviously) but does indeed feel slimmer. The Atlas also has a slightly better boom range because half of each bone is flat (not needing the space for the additional canisters). Otherwise same geometry and same feel.
  8. As for the troubles with pdf, take a look at Chris' posts about the Cinetronic 2. There is a lot of interesting back story there which he recently explained. psf is a pain and seems to cause a lot more problems then many people realize.
  9. "I'm usually ready before the village monitor has been flipped" This brings up the need on why you do often need to announce you're doing a switch. Some of these shows today have multiple video villages: Director/Scripty/Producer Monitor, DP & DIT, Hair & Makeup, and sound.
  10. The problem is with the LCD screen itself. I'm actually impressed both worked as well as they did. One might be better off with a TB-6 green screen (CRT monitor) for these days. Or, maybe you just stay home and drink Scotch.
  11. While the appeal of an "all-in-one" unit seems cool on the surface, I'd prefer to keep them separate. The Bolt PRO reciever weighs nothing so if something like that were to come along for the higher end transmitters, I'd say keep it separate so someone can put it on whatever monitor they want (Odyssey recorder, small HD, Cinetronic… and Jens can put his on the Transvideo….. sorry, but I couldn't resist. Please start a new topic to discuss that unit).
  12. Guys, we are getting off topic. This is a thread about "who is interested in a 2000 (and it also seems 600) receiver lite". Nothing else. And Brian, please find that time to get to a computer and change your display name.
  13. Hey guys. Little error on my part when describing what I want. I did not realize that the 300 was bigger than the older Bolt PRO. I thought it was just a renamed product (albeit with HDMI & SDI) because of the increased line of products. My concept is still the same though. A smaller, lighter, shorter range (and cheaper) receiver to augment the main 2000 receiver.
  14. Brian (please change your display name to your full last name - its our policy), I'm not talking about using a 300 receiver; I'm talking about them developing something of similar size, etc. No external antennae and maybe no LCD. Small, light weight. I'll gladly give up some range for this purpose as long as I still have the "Big Brother" one. As for the HDMI one you mention, I live in an SDI world (didn't even bother to get HDMI on my 2000). Maybe its me, but it keeps coming up. I've ended up retransmitting from village with a 300 or even carrying both transmitters when village is too far away. Sure, I've thought about buying a 2nd receiver but after watching a Director fumbling around with that thing on the back of a Small HD monitor the other day, I'd much rather another option.
  15. Hi all, It has come up on a number of shoots recently that it would be great to have a smaller, lighter version of the Bolt PRO 2000 receiver. This would not replace the current one, rather augment it. In other words, you'd use the existing one at video village as the long range one. Then you would have a smaller, lighter, cheaper, shorter range one (much the form factor of the 300) for the AC's monitor or handheld Director's monitor. While I love my PRO 2000, the receiver with the external antennae is just a bit big for these situations and frankly overkill. I'd love to own an additional receiver like the Bolt PRO 300. So, I emailed Mike Gailing from Teradek this suggestion and he tells me that others have suggested it too, but that the "Powers that Be" need a proverbial raising of hands to show interest. So.... Who thinks this is a good idea? Thanks all.
  16. Anyone have a Manual Revolution roll cage? May need to rent one in late Feb through the first week of March. Please contact me. I also have some questions about it. Thank you.
  17. Phil, Dr. Stewart Rosendblat. 191 3rd Ave (@ 17st) New York NY 10003. (212) 473-1711 Recommended to me years ago by a Local 52 friend cause of the health plan. Been with him ever since. Tell him I sent you.
  18. Ben, good to know. I already had this one for my magliner but I probably would have just bought the new one since I'm keeping the magliner as an additional cart. Oh well.
  19. Everything Peter says is true. Grips come out of the woodwork (couldn't resist) to admire it. I was at Afton's place recently and saw this hardwood gem. If I didn't already own one of the first five, I'd have spoken for it then.
  20. Modified Backstage stand holder for the Scout 37 since the shelves are too wide for the stock bracket. Just bent up the back edge, flattened it, and added a block of wood. Slides right off when you want to collapse the cart.
  21. Brian, your picture did not show up. I know that sled well. It was Chris Haarhoff's originally and then sold to Kurt. Only three owners in all that time says a lot about it. I'd suggest that if you ever want to sell it, give GPI a call to see if they want to put it on display.
  22. Yes, Gary. Thanks for starting a new thread. Much better than posting about a new product in another's thread. Congrats on the new monitor; I look forward to hearing what Brant has to say about it but not in the Small HD thread!
  23. Lars, nice! Wish it was the same here (unless it means working for peanuts to start!).
  24. Nope. That is reserved for "above the line" people (Writers, Producers, and Directors - including Assistant Directors) and actors. We craft people are considered below the line. Its really determined by your Union (Assistant Directors are still part of the Directors' Guild).
