  1. This is the XCS version of the SD 8 Pin Lemo Center Post cable for PRO posts (or XCS posts with PRO mounts). As described on the XCS web site: FGG 3B 308 connectors on both ends. Yellow 308 coiled cable uses 16 AWG conductors. This cables is a slightly tighter fit in a 1.5" post but does fit and because of the larger diameter cabling you don't get voltage loss (or much less of it). Pro no longer sells an SD cable and XCS charges $650 for it. $350 plus shipping.
  2. I love wheels and still can't wrap my brain around joysticks.
  3. Can someone snap a few photos and post them here of the bottom of the camera? I still haven't seen one in person and I'm a little unclear what stays on the camera versus what comes off to put on our plates. Thank you.
  4. I just happened by RedBytes booth at a recent NYC trade show and saw their new MD-HX converter: http://www.decimator.com/Products/MD-HX/MD-HX.html I was very impressed by this stylish and durable looking little beast. The LCD screen for settings is a major improvent. While this is not a down converter, I've oredered one to fix the psf issues with my Cinetronic 2 monitor (as well as act as an HD-VDA sort of speak). Yes, I know, it's a shame that an external box is needed but I otherwise love this monitor and this little box should fit very nicely on the back and frankly look good too.
  5. FYI, football fans - they have a bunch of TVs with the various games on so you won't miss everything. When we did the SOC gathering, it was also a football Sunday and we had the pool table area reserved for us (not sure if we've done that this time) and the games are on over the bar so you can see them but are not competing against them.
  6. Thanks for doing this Kat. Should be a lot of fun. For those who were there, this is the same place we had an SOC meet & greet a coulee year back.
  7. Saw it the other day. What Ron says. Not sure if it motivates me or causes me to want to hang it up! Simply brilliant.
  8. OK, so I had an old Panatape Interface cable sitting around (but wait…. you said "Cinetape Interface cable"…. keep reading) which I only used a few times. Discovered recently that the board in it died (the fabulous Focus Puller Bobby Mancuso still uses a Panatape). Anyway, sent it to Preston to discover it would be $205 to replace the board. Not worth it to me, but then they offered to replace it with a Cinetape board and swap the connector (for an additional $43.75). I already own this cable for my MDR-2 as well as the one without the interface box for my MDR-3 so I have no need. This cable costs $620 new. I'll sell it AS IS for $100. Its still at Preston, you can then get the repairs made and have essentially a brand new Cinetape interface cable (or Panatape if you prefer) for approx $350. Thanks.
  9. Yes, original DB2. Know what you're selling and what you're buying please.
  10. James, do the impact batteries charge on AB chargers?
  11. James, those batteries look great. Expensive and I'm not really in the mood to swap everything out at this point. BUT, in line with what Jens is saying, part of the reason I have liked sticking with Anton Bauer is that they are in CT, right next store to me in NYC and that makes it very easy to have things looked at and I know they are keeping Americans employed. Now that they are being made in Mexico, that is another reason to consider the Impact batteries.
  12. Thank you Paul! I'll be calling you soon as it pretty much makes sense to augment my current inventory with three more Dionic HCs and keep all my batteries to the same foot print, etc (plus, they are damn good batteries).
  13. "son in college and daughter not far off)" Wow, where has the time gone!
  14. Will likely stick with HC's since most of mine are fine. James, can you send me some photos though since their web site is lacking in this area?
  15. The new and albeit odd looking G-Series batteries from Anton Bauer were discussed in a couple of threads when first shown at NAB, but I have seen nothing since nor have I ever seen one in person. Design atheistic aside, has anyone used them? Specially on a PRO 3 base (or other sled but please specify)? Can you comment to fit, weight distribution and can you fit four of them on an older style AB charger or are they too big? I currently use Dionic HCs and a few are getting long in the tooth. Trying to asses options (and I don't want to hear about V-lock options since I hate V-locks… nor do I want to hear about Chinese clones right now; I'm specifically asking about the G90 batteries). I'be used Anon Bauer batteries for twenty years on every sled I've owned, but this one is a puzzle piece. I don't mind a little more weight and size (will a PRO 3 recorder mount still work?) if the performance is better but the sled needs to spin flat, etc. I believe Anton Bauer still sells HCs so I'm likely going to just add a few more of these rather than change but I am curious. Paul Dudeck, if you're reading this, you've always done right by me, but if the G series are not a good fit and HCs are discontinued, you'll force me to re-cell the HCs or go in another direction all together. Thanks all!
  16. How about a TB-6 as a backup to your TB-6? If interested, PM me.
  17. Ron is correct. I own both arms and prefer the Atlas when using two springs because it just seems smaller.
  18. Jeffery, we are a forum of Professional Steadicam operators that use professional gear. Think you're barking up the wrong tree here. This isn't meant to be snobby, but our livelihood depends, in part, on our tools and we work in a very demanding field. If it does not work, neither do we. Nuff said. Oh, wait… there is more. I moved this thread to the "Video Assist and Video Accessories" area cause that's where we discuss this stuff. Next time, please just take a moment and think about where your thread should go before you post in "General Discussion." Thank you. EDIT: Just saw your other thread on video transmitters (also in General Discussion) and deleted it. Redundant. I, too, think you're advertising something, but I'll let this thread continue for the moment since we have responses from known members.
  19. Thanks for clearing this up guys. I don't want to get too off topic here since this was a thread about the F-55, but I hooked up my new 2000 at Panavision yesterday (to a film camera with an HD tap because that is what I'll be using on this job) and took a stroll around the building with my recover attached to a handheld monitor. The results were pretty extraordinary as the image was perfect through a surprising number of walls.
  20. Doc, thanks for the pics. I'm going to send these to the guys at Teradek and see what they have to say.
  21. Lawrence, "Power is a 4 pin XLR or a battery on the back" Hmmm, maybe I'm just thinking of the camera run cable..... Or was there some "back" to the camera for recording RAW that attached to the 4-pin and then had another power connector? Its been awhile. Don't recall any BOLT issues at all. Interesting to hear this though. I ordered my 2000 without HDMI because I don't consider this a professional connector and never want to see one on set - ever. Do I need to rethink this?
  22. Brooks, Used it once very early on for a feature my wife shot. Different power cable. At the time no start/stop for the Preston, but I seem to think there is now (in fact, I think I have said cable for my MDR-3). Light. Almost too light. Plastic. Not sure about the Panavision mods so can't comment on low mode. Signal issues? My Cinetronic 2 didn't like it so I used a Decimator. Bolt PRO (now Bolt PRO 300 which I have since sold and just got my 2000 yesterday) worked like a charm. Hopefully more people chime in. Take good care, Alec
  23. I was surprised to read this. Since the title of the thread does not shed light on the company, I was reading the post waiting for the finger to point. I had a Bolt PRO and found Teradek to be excellent while ordering and with follow up. Never had a problem with the unit so I never needed repairs - it worked great. I recently sold the unit as I ordered a PRO 2000 which I believe is arriving today. Again, it was a pleasure dealing with Teradek. I'm sure Mike will get to the bottom of this. On another note, using someone else's cables: This is the film business. As long as you are using quality cables, no one should try and put blame on that. There are a handful of respected cables makers who make their living supplying cables to film professionals. I hope this was just a misunderstanding.
  24. Do you have the level plugged in? If so, try unplugging it and see if it boots up. If that is the case, contact Chris (or if its not the case!).
