I will hit up Gorman! I am on the last week of my night feature and I might wreck into you guys from not seeing past the bags in my eyes. Let me know when you plan on going to gorman Ron. I think it is time to get the vehicross dirty. I just saw the picture of the guy who snapped his wheel off his hummer. Hey Ron, isn't that the same guy that broke the axl last time I went off roading with you? That guy has got to chill on breaking his shit. I guess I can make it out there weaponless......Damn!

  3. Yo !!!!!

I had a blast at the guild meeting. Thank you all for comming out to my crib and kickin back some brews. Thank you Howard for doing the demo at my house. The AR is really a cool piece of equipment to play with. I could not believe some of the crazy shots we could do over my balcony (with the view that sucks). Ron, Shannon loves your H1 more than me you bastard!!!!!! Now I have to buy one. Eric, your car was the fastest thing on earth. I swear to god my head hit the back of the seat when John hit the gas like Back To The Future. It was killer!!!! I did not take any pictures of the AR sorry guys. We all did the demo and then drank and shot BB guns. We gotta do it again sometime. Again, thanks everybody for kickin it at my house.

  5. Hey Everybody,

This comming Saturday May 30th I am having a steadicam guild AR demo at my house . Of course Beer will be present and a hot grill if anybody wants to cook something (bring your own meat). I talked to Howard Smith and David Grove and we all agreed to have the gathering at 6 P.M. So I hope to see everybody at my crib, bring whatever you want to drink or eat and we will rock and roll! Here is the location and directions.

    18202 Wakecrest Dr.

    Malibu, Ca. 90265

Basically just take the 10 freeway to the PCH. You will pass the palisades and it is not too far from there. Keep going on the pch until you hit Coastline Dr. At Coastline Dr. make a right. Follow Coastline until you hit Castlerock. Turn right at Castlerock and then a immediate right on Wakecrest. My house is right up the hill on the right.

If anybody needs to get ahold of me you can call my cell at 323-868-7330. I am going to be working nights so it is best if you call me on my way to work around 5 P.M. I am shooting at Sable so I will have no cell reception. Thats it! Hope to see you crazy people this next Saturday.

  6. Hey Everybody!

I am just curious to see if anyone snapped a photo of the Geo arm at NAB? I was working so I did not get to attend so if anybody can post a photo that would rock!

  7. I have to say that the motor I bought from Will is in killer shape. It looks brand new and works like brand new. I am sure that the rest of his gear is just as well taken care of. Again, thanks Will for the motor, it has been working on my rig since I got it. Are you still in San Fran? Come down to So Cal and lets hit up some surf.

  8. I am in Chicago right now and I carried on my Klassen harness. Of course it did not fit in the overhead bin so I had to store it under the seat. It did not fit very well down there either. The guy next to me was bummed on the leg room. The airport did not give me any trouble about it though. They were more concerned with my portable dvd player and my in flight porn (just kidding). Its cold here!!!!

  9. Having the option to have the frictionless or add a little friction is great. I too use the different size posts and I enjoy the ability to swap them out fast. I have the rig engineering arm and it has the bearings built in like the Pro arm.

  10. Hey Dan,

I just noticed you said there were trails your suburban can't fit through. Ron and the other hummer owners on this trip basically went through everything including trails most trucks can't fit through. At one point we all went through one spot where everyone scratched and dented their hummers because we all tipped to one side and hit a rock wall. Rons hummer came out with a pretty good scratch but the hummer wagons got worked with scratches and dents. Another time we went through a spot on the trail where we slide to the passenger side where my face was about 3 inches from a rock wall. I watched Rons mirror almost get ripped off. We slip to the side and the door got a small dent where the mirror rested on the wall. I am telling you I was sweating everytime we scraped, bottomed out, and watched other hummers get tore up. Ron, you are a psycho with your hummer but you at least keep it real with a true off road machine.

  11. Yo!

To all those who have not experienced the wonders of off roading in a Hummer H1 check it out. Ron Baldwin and I went on the gnarliest off road trail I have ever been on. We were with 5 other hummer H1s and we looked like bad asses comming through the trails. One guy broke a axle and everyones hummers got scratched up like crazy. It was one of the best times off roading I have ever had and I am a southern boy so I have done plenty of off roading. If you ever get a chance to go with Ron in his hummer...........DO IT! You will trip out.

  12. Hey Meg,

I won't write too much but I can tell you this......DON'T RUSH! Take the workshop. See if you are comfortable in the rig after taking the workshop. Step 2 is buying a rig. If you are dirt poor right now then work your butt off and become the ultimate penny pincher. It took me two years to get a rig up and running and that was a solid two years of saving money like scrooge. And just when you thought your rig was complete......WRONG!!!!.....you will want to upgrade all the time and new and cool stuff is comming out and it is all very expensive. I am still buying stuff left and right blah blah blah!!! Set a plan and take your time. I told David Ellis the same thing when he approached me about becoming an operator and he is doing great! Most of us in this community are very nice and approachable so don't be afraid to ask questions. I know my post is as redundant as the ones above but I just wanted to drop my two cents. Take care and take your time.
