  1. If you scour the forum and internet as a whole, you should be able to find an old Model 3A Top stage and then figure out a way to bolt it on your post Instead of what you have there as the top stage now. The adjustability would be day and night over what that sled has there, that may run like $800 and the used camera plates with the gear strips underneath to mesh with the 3A top stage about $100 each. Good luck, PS, it would probably be the most adjustable one of those Glidecam clones out there. Add some AB plates underneath and you can fly an Stripped down Epic!
  2. There you go folks, Buy this 2" Gimbal and My Prolite HD sled system and your cooking with fire!
  3. I've had Intersex since.... Oh sorry wrong forum
  4. A fun thing...and free ( only Gas and time) would be to call down to Tiffen in Burbank and make an appointment, drive down there with your stuff and I'm sure they'll walk you thru it, and you'll get to see the Steadicam factory, it's huge.
  5. Since I've been asked about weights, here are some numbers from the scale... ProLite HD Top stage quick release. No DB2, Just Electronics and the flat aluminum top cover they all have. 8.5 ounces. ProLite HD Quick release Bottom with its two AB plates. 29.5 ounces. XCS 2" 2 section post with 18 conductor dual Coax HD cable, monitor brkt spacer ring. 31.5 ounces. ProLite HD Sled with Donkey Box 2 with MDR bracket, no camera plate, Top electronics stage, XCS 2" Post, monitor brkt spacer ring and lower electronics/dual battery stage. 92.25 Ounces. (5lbs 12.25 ounces) Add to that your gimbal, monitor, monitor bracket, cables, docking ring(s) and MDR of choice to get what this sled would weigh If you were to add the weight of the Transvideo HD6 and Quattro Monitor Yoke and bracketry to this sled, the sled would then be 10lbs 0.25 ounces The Monitor, with Quattro Bracket, Yoke, Dual Rods and Monitor soft cover is 4lbs 4 ounces.. Hope this helps
  6. I bought that all in one plate from Markus Bernhardt and have not looked back. Works with Flat Cameras ( F55, Epic, Red, Sony P1) as it is, then attach the insert it comes with and it's the perfect Alexa, Amira or Sony/Panasonic plate, comes with the different size posts that you can attach to it,and it drops right into your Donkey Box. Worth the money in my opinion. Basically the only plate you need, (Keep the GPI Plate to put on the top of the camera for quick low mode changes), even though most digital jobs are ok with just inverting the camera and flipping the image in the camera or at video village. Here it is on a Sony F55. Here it is on a Sony P1 camera system with Visilink from AVS for The Voice Kids ( US Spanish version) Here is what is all comes with. and notice you can decide where to place the V mount either forward or further back on the plate ( Pictured). Here it is on an Alexa and a close up
  7. The Steadicar is normally just meant for one operator up front, so the Focus puller sits next to the driver and can watch a monitor mounted in a yoke on the 5/8" spud in front of him/her. Charles and his crew "ammended" the steadicar that day...very well I might ad. I guess they had good wireless from the steadicar to the AC's. If they use the Visilink HD transmitter, the AC can sit anywhere within about 500' walls or no walls.
  8. Bernard hopes to one day see a North America where every major city has a Steadicar or 4 at it's disposal, speaking of which I think I'll train on it myself in a couple of months, can't hurt and I can then help train other folks.
  9. Thanks Ramon. It's been a really good sled to me, only reason for the sale of this and other stuff is to get the funds together for the closing on a house my wife and I would like to have. Tired of climbing up two flights of stairs with gear everytime I leave or arrive to/from work.

There is no case included, but I would be willing to sell my pelican 1650 for it, but it has a bunch of cut outs for other gear like 2 HC batts, a Pelican 1060 case, a cable wallet, several different arm post holes, Allen T Drivers, Screw Drivers, etc..adapter rods spacing, etc.., The inside custom foam is only a couple of months old. I'll send a picture to anyone who is buying the sled to see if you'd like it as well for $250 extra. It includes the top lid insert from Pelican. The Sled fits in there perfect with the Monitor and a BFD receiver attached if you use a BFD, I'm sure it could easily be modified to hold an MDR as well. But remember, it's not included, it's an extra $250. It's the latest generation 1650 in great shape, rolls very very nice.

Klassen Vest Custom Dual Mount. Depending on your actual Torso length which varies in us Humans, this vest would fit 5'9" to 6'1" and waist sizes from 33" to 37" with the added hinge spacer. It's in great shape, the air bladder has never EVER lost air. I filled it with air years ago and have never changed it. The spares bag has spare ratchets, ratchet straps, socket knobs,, Air bladder pump, etc.. I operate standard, and the dual mount is not the solid GB mount socket, this is a fully articulated separate mount, you can slide it up and down, and control the socket tilt just like you can on the end of the arm. It's been a shotsaver in the past. Comes with 2 Arm bags, 2 sets of front shoulder pads, different insert for the front waist pad to adjust for your waist size and a vest bag. I haven't seen another full size vest with this style front mount. Has the Triax/Smpte Plug holder/strain relief bracket already mounted in the back. Paid well over the asking price. $5500. Email me if you need any other info or pictures. Thanks, Ozzie@silverafilm.com
  13. Ruben, Grab yourself the Steadicam Operators handbook,( by Jerry Holway and Laurie Hayball , http://www.barnesandnoble.com/listing/2687237019937?r=1&cm_mmc=GooglePLA-_-TextBook_NotInStock_26To75-_-Q000000633-_-2687237019937 either first or Second edition, then order the DVD for the EFP training video, between those two items, you will have the answers to hundreds of questions new folks ask themselves and others. it's all knowledge, you will love the book and the video, A great job was done on both. Take your time, read the book, let it digest, watch the video let it sink in, then even if your not sure of all of the terminologies in either, When your on a set or your next job and someone brings up a term that was in the book or video, it will not be as alien a term or concept as before, it's all a learning process, and very fun at the same time. Some folks take a course and learn that it really isn't for them, and that saves them time and money in the future, but it still teaches them what this tool can do, and it prepares them for any future in TV or Film production. I taught a small private course here in Miami many years ago and one student was an Audio mixer, he learned it wasn't for him at the time, but he appreciated learning about it, and now in the future when he's a director, producer, etc.. He will know the best way to use the tool and how NOT to use it. All good. Good luck out there, and Fly Safe. Ozzie

  16. great Job, Thanks for posting. Smooth transitions, Congrats!
  17. What are Teradek Bolt Pro's going for on the used market nowadays? Maybe I sell the Paralinx units and get one now that they seem to be fairly rugged in terms of voltage, dependability, etc..
  18. 4 blacks, 4 blues, you'll be good.....pretty much forever.
  19. I second the need for more info on Rons transformer
  20. It may be a small camera, but once you add a nice solid prime lens, 2 motors,( Iris/Focus) wireless video transmitter, possibly audio receivers, then a mattebox and a few filters... it may be too heavy for only blue springs on your arm. Maybe a ringlight, onboard recorder, battery up top to power it all, etc... it can end up being a 25lb weight above your camera stage quick.
  21. Hi Mikko, You will find 3 popular systems out there, two of them are the most popular and the least is what I use. The most popular is the Stanton system for live/broadcast jobs, then there is the G Zoom system, and the least popular I would venture to say is the Bebob ZOE ENG8 or ENG 12 zoom control, coupled with the BFD Hardwire zoom control box. I modified the box and the hold down strap/tab on my ZOE to hold the BFD box under my gimbal handle. I've tried the Stanton and have slowly been getting used to it, but not completely sold on it yet, I have also tried the G Zoom, and although build very well, the distance between the zoom rocker and the focus knob is too much for me, maybe my hands are small?, The Zoe ENG8 and 12 have served me well for the last 10+ years of quite a bit of live and live to tape work., I do now use a Stanton Motor with both the Fuji and Canon gears, which works great on most every Canon or Fuji broadcast zoom out there. Then have Jim at Bartech modify a receiver to run in Hi or Low power mode and make you a custom stanton motor cable. This will allow you to switch the receiver to low mode and control the Stanton motor with less force then Hi mode where the receiver is then better at controlling larger more powerful motors such as the M-1, or CP SLD or Heden Analog motors. Hope that helps a bit, Ozzie
