  1. YEP, sometimes there are several wires...like 3 or 4! running down the front. Alot of folks frown on the outer wires, they seem to forget the Model 1 and 2 had a solid post from the top stage/J Box to the monitor and the 3 had two metal covered cables coming down the front.
  2. Still the cheapest BlackMagic Hyperdeck shuttle out there. $300 includes free shipping to anywhere in the USA and the 2 one foot BNC cables with 90 degree DIN 1.0 connectors. I just uploaded a video to youtube that shows the shuttle on a sled. Ozzie
  3. Just a little experience here..... I owned a full size rig ( Model 1 sled, 3A arm, 3A vest) for almost 3 years before attending a course. I had taught myself how to operate by watching the EFP VHS and practicing my butt off just "winging it" but there were hundreds of hours in the vest with a 35BL1 on it before I went out as a "steadicam operator". And even though I was already getting paid to come onto a set as a steadicam op, I took a course. When I returned from that course I was a changed man. I had been doing SO many things wrong ( but they still worked to get the shot) Operating the heavy cameras got so much easier because I learned things at the course I could not possibly learn from the video. From adjustments on the vest to proper camera set up, to the correct way to adjust the arm sections....the list can go on and on. I know you have mentioned before that taking a course is not an option....maybe becoming proficient in operating is also not an option. I am sure there is an operator in your country who can show you a few things with your system. whether you have to save up and then take a drive or train or plane to see him/her or they come to you if you pay their way. You can do it. If you have the will to learn the system you will accomplish it. Do not give up. If there is a course in your country or even somewhere else in the future, try and get there, they usually have several different systems for you to learn on, and every system you learn is a different set of skills you put in your brain pocket. There was a young man named Joe on youtube who also had alot of problems balancing his rig. He blamed it on the rig and ultimately went mad. Good luck, you'll get it, just put the rig on and don't take it off till your sweating like a pig!. Start with a short sled and adjust the gimbal up and down for your drop time, then lengthen it, then slide the camera forward, then back, and learn all of the different reactions to changing those things, you'll end up with a working balanced rig at some point, just don't get frustrated. Ozzie---Happy New Year!

Gives you an extra 1/2" of connecting space. I drilled and tapped the extra 2 holes on this one, fits right.$50 shipped Pro 1 recorder mount. You can adapt this plate to your rig and have a great strong light weight mount plate for your recorder, etc...$25 shipped Ok, the following piece was my attempt to make a lightweight HD rig. I purchased an outer post and inner post used. Then purchased the top and bottom inserts and then a new XCS/PRO HD 16 pin Cable. The post was assembled and the sled was made but I decided to use a 2" post instead so I could use the same gimbal on both sleds. So... this can be the start of someones new HD sled project. It's the same cable used in the PRO HD sleds I believe. The post is the old PRO style sliding post with the groove in the center, but has the top and bottom inserts. The post slides out and in pretty stiff. I'm gonna polish the bottom post this week which will make it slide better, but will probably still be stiff. Selling for just the cost in parts not the post. $750.shipped Please PM me if your interested. I can ship Tomorrow thru USPS Priority. Thanks...... PS. I also have those PRO plates and Wolf and Panasonic Monitors which are on ebay now.
  9. On these reality competition shows we all get catheters put in and our Camel backpacks are filled with a full days meals, snacks and water in a slurry protein shake. it's the norm.... try a spanish soap where you'll shoot 45 pages of dialogue each day.
  10. Amazing what people do now a days. It's no wonder Identity theft is at an all time high. And crime for the matter. I watched his response video which is still up. PS, He went crazy on the comments!, If you click on his channel, he has like 30 videos. one of them is his move to Florida in October of this year, if you watch it, you will get what area of the country he's in, where he's moving to, at one point he says the address! Gives everyone a tour of the apartment, etc.. fine, at the end of the video just before he signs off, he mentions to watch for his update videos from Full Sail and that October 17th is the first day of orientation. So.....Here is what I gather... he's in his early 20's so 15 years ago when he started in "film" he was maybe 10 Good thing is he'll learn a bunch at Full Sail. Most importantly that it's a good thing to laugh at yourself when you've messed up and acted a fool. Good Luck Joe! Good Luck!! You have an easily bruised ego...get over it.

  15. Damm Tim and his good deals on stuff when I have no spare cash to spend!! Grab Tim's Modulus and stuff before I get some overdue checks and buy it myself! Happy Holidays Ozzie
  16. On many instances I have put the rig on other folks who are interested in it. I have had the following conversation "Turn it on, it's not balancing", I said "It's on, just concentrate on the frame and try to keep it balanced". They say, "It's not working" Oh Boy!
  17. In my opinion and experience it's better to wait a bit and buy a used 2702 4 position charger. Treats your batteries better over the long haul. and what happens when you have a long job and 2 batteries won't cut it. They are also upgradable with the newest firmware when AB comes out with newer batt technology. The used 2702's are about $1000 used. sometimes a bit more sometimes less. Just my opinion. Good Luck, Ozzie
  18. Have run a Pro/XCS rig for over 8 years.....perfect.
