  1. Hello everyone. Not sure if anyone has this, and wants to sell it. But I have a job coming up in Vegas and they're not getting us the LWS with the rods for the Sony Video cameras. If anyone has a set I'd love to buy it from you. The new cost is prohibitive, so I'll wait to see if anyone has this part for sale. Call me up.
  2. Yes, kimberly was sent by Jonathan to get him lunch and the owner of the breakfast club came with her cause he was confused as well. It was just to get her out of the place long enough for him to get the flowers that had been delivered in the back and the cake they had hidden. When I was there for Cinegear, I swung by the shop to say hello and Kimberly was at her own station cutting hair. So the story ends happily. PS, Kimberly is still charging like $75 for a cut. And I gotta say, Jonathan's watch over my cut made it exact, It's growing out just fine. I haven't combed or blow dried my hair since. Just run the hand thru it and it's done.
  3. Ahem, that was half done by Jonathan, and then finished by im and Kimberly, so 200 covers Jonathans half, 62.50 covers Kim's half, 262.50 cut, and they didn't charge for the shampoo or the product they put on the hair, LOL!!, funny thing is, I got up from the chair, they took the shot of me puffing the hair and handed me the camera to shoot the remainder of the day with them getting ready for Kim to arrive back from the breakfast club to receive her flowers and cake.now back to our regurlarly scheduled steadicam program. Too bad they weren't budgeting in Steadicam for the show, would have been cool to shoot a few traveling shots thru that back alley and the salon.
  4. LOL!, hehehehe, well since we are all "in" the business. The cut took more like 1.5 hours, add a little drama, and the fact that I wanted to get out of there on the last day, and Whala, a 3 hour cut with tension, drama, etc.. I was there shooting on the last day of the 3 week shoot, The other camera ops were gone, the remote cameras had been removed and wrapped out, cables were everywhere and Kimberly really couldn't find another model for her last cut. When I brought the camera down for a rest, the Dir and one of the field producers were there looking at me along with Jonathan, they all said "C'mon, Ozzie, Take one for the team", I said "What!, what are you talking about with that "Take one for the team"?", they explained how they wanted to cut my hair and use me for the end of the show, I figured, sure why not, It grows back doesn't it?, I then asked, what type of cut, Jonathan says, We'll give you My haircut, short on the sides and back a bit big on top, I said sure why not, so re ran next door to the Breakfast club and the AP Adam and I sat there, the owner brought out some glasses and a plate of fruit and the director shot the scene and the cut. If I didn't do it we would have been there another 3 hours waiting for the "model" to show up from wherever he was. So there you have it, Hehehehe I still get a kick out of it. I'm glad I shaved that morning. LOL!!
  5. Hi there folks, So many of you who saw my short hair last month and didn't recognize me at first, can now see how it all came to be on tonights Finale episode of Blowout, on Bravo, I think it's 9pm. My apologies for this not being steadicam related. I just think it's funny as hell. Ozzie
  6. Hello everyone, although I never met Mr. Digiulio, I have always heard of him. While leafing thru the current Time magazine, I come across blurb in the notebook milestones section saying the following, and this is only a partial quote. " ....Edmund M. Digiulio, 76, Inventor of the Steadicam, a camera stabilization system and other innovations in cinematography;......"...."He worked for many years with the director Stanley Kubrick, making possible the gliding camera work in films like The Shinning....." I thought this was Garrett? and Ed was the owner of CP?
  7. I tell folks in the business here in Miami all the time."Don't breed cheap producers by working for free", they're like Rabbits, they multiply.
  8. Ahh, It was awesome to see you guys again. At Cinegear a French Cinematographer friend of mine invited me to go hang out with him at the Beach BBQ at the ASC clubhouse with a bunch of the ASC guys. I figured it was going to be cool, but decided to hang out with other fellow steadi ops. you guys rock! Thanks for always making me feel welcomed. My trips out here are always great.
  9. Well, about 30 of us, including John were there at Dalts waiting to see if the sled arrived. Still waiting....

  11. Hello Jason, I just worked with your friend on the Billboard awards and he told me about teaching a class for a few people he had set up. I see now why he wanted to have me teach it quickly. Tell him to give me a call. I'm looking to upgrade and might be able to work with him on a good price for my present system. PS, you can always call me about anything steadicam. Ozzie
  12. What does a Modulus 3000 rent for per week out in LA on jobs?
  13. Being as cautious as anyone should be now a days. I was contacted by a Rick Givens from a company called North American Capital, He says they specialize in Financing on equipment especially Steadicam operators. Before I send out My Social to someone, I'd like to know. Does anyone on this forum do business with them? what has your experience been? Just doing my research. Not looking to get had by providing Bank Info, social, etc.. Let me know, email me, Thanks If this guy is for real and My credit pans out, I may just get a new sled. Yippeeee!
  14. Flemming, Send me the cash thru Paypal , I'll go to the store, buy it for you, and ship it off right away. It can be set for PAL also, no need for a special system. Let me know, I'll be happy to take it to the post office for you, Or you can go to the JR website, but it directly and they may ship it to you. Goodluck, let me know Ozzie
  15. Looking for folks out there who may have laying around a PRO 1 Lower electronics housing, The box with the 3 circuit breakers on it. No need for the dovetail plate on top, or the lower cage. Maybe someone has something left from a mishap, or a crash ( that would be a serious mishap). Anything? anyone? Ozzie
  16. Hey there, I connected the output to my bigger TV, 38" RCA HDTV ( tube) and at the bitrate I recorded it (1500) it looked a bit pixilated, but not bad at all. I then played the video that comes with it which must have been recorded at the highest bitrate (2000) and it looked great! even on that big TV. The way I would output it to use in a Demo would be to digitize it from the unit directly into the AVID, by running the output to my PD150 or any digital camera with a composite input, and taking the DV out of it into the computer, whether it be AVID, or Final Cut, should work. I'll let everyone know when I do it on the 30th with the Latin Billboards footage. SO far this little unit seems to work great!, and cheaper than an onboard recorder, with no tapes to loose.
  17. Hi folks!, Just got a Archos AV320 jukebox for an Onboard recorder. Been spending a few hours loading the Demo, Behind the scenes pictures, about 100 songs so far. and still have plenty of space for high quality MP4 tap recording, and video output recording from the video out's on the Vid cameras. Gotta love technology!, I had seen it for 600, today it was $499! at Comp USA. Internal batteries!, does anyone have one? and have you made a short power cable? with a split to feed the video and the power off the recorder plug on the sled? Ozzie
  18. Hello everyone. I'm in need of Lemo Part # 1S.303.CLL. It's the Camera Power 3 pin male/female connector on the PRO upper Junction box. I have already been to Mr. West's place and he does not have any around. I need 2 of them. Anyone? Ozzie Silvera
  19. Back in Miami now. Found a supplier for the outer post, having it machined and cut to length, now just looking for a lower post in the 1.375 OD size. No lower inserts needed. Anyone?
  20. Barry, Thanks for the info. I've been using IDX batteries since I can remember, first non Lith-ion then the Lith- Ion with probably every Sony video camera made. Superior product!. Accord Productions in Miami, has probably 40 of your NP1 style batteries, They have switched to all Lith-Ion in their 3 package camera set up. 90% of the batteries are used til dead everyday, powering both the camera in a 2 NP-1 style system and the power hungry Sony 8" monitors for the field. They have been serving them well for almost 4 years since their last batch battery purchase. Travelled the world, in very hostile natural and un natural enviroments and have never let us down.. The LED indicator is reliable and great to have when you aren't sure if the batt came of the charger or if it's been sitting there uncharged. Thanks for the great power. Osvaldo Silvera
