  3. For Sale ? A Glidecam Gold arm, modified, by Glidecam, to hold more weight. The arm can successfully carry an Arri BL-4 (if you really have to). Also for sale is a Glidecam Gold harness. I?ve been using these with my PRO sled (also for sale). The arm?s socket pin and vest?s connector are industry standard size and made from Titanium. I?ve used the vest with a PRO arm and didn?t have a problem. Photos: http://www.halecamera.com/steadicam/arm.html http://www.halecamera.com/steadicam/vest.html I?m asking $5,000 for both the Arm and Vest together. Buyer is responsible for all shipping chargers. All prices in US Dollars. Equipment is located in Los Angeles, CA, USA. Email or PM me questions. Thanks! Jon jonathanhale@hotmail.com
  4. My Bartech system has sold. Remaining is the PRO Sled with MK-V V2 Gimbal and batteries, Glidecam Gold Arm and Vest. List here: http://www.halecamera.com/steadicam/list.html Photos: http://www.halecamera.com/steadicam/index.html I?m still willing to pull items out of a set. For example, if you want the sled but already have a monitor, I?ll sell the sled without it. I?d rather sell it all at once, but at this point I?m ready to sell everything separately so my pricing for everything is: Sled, Gimbal and Accessories: $20,300 or best offer Arm: $4,500 obo Vest: $800 obo I?m motivated to sell, so contact me. I also have a Pelican case model 1600 with photo dividers that didn?t sell with Bartech. I?m asking $75 for that. Again, all price in US dollars. Thanks! Jon Jonathanhale at hotmail.com
  5. Still for sale. I've received a number of emails regarding the Bartech. I'll try to get back to those of you interested in the follow focus in the order you got in touch with me. Thanks! Jon
  6. Modulus, CIT Antenna, and Tuner have sold. Everything else is still for sale. All serious offers welcome and I'm willing to sell items separate. Thanks! Jon
  7. Up for sale is a full system. It?s a bit of a mutt. GPI PRO sled, battery cage 1 and Donkey Box 2 with a really sexy MK-V V2 Gimbal. I also have a modified Glidecam Gold arm that can successfully carry an Arri BL-4 (if you really have to) and Glidecam Gold harness. Included in the system is a 2 Channel Bartech set-up, 8.4? HD monitor, 12 batteries, cases, cables, and I?m basically throwing in a Modulus 2000 with a CIT Antenna. Email me for a complete list or other questions. Here?s a link to a photo gallery of just about everything: http://www.halecamera.com/steadicam/index.html I would rather sell everything at once, but I?m willing to separate items if need be. I?m asking $30,850 for everything. Buyer is responsible for all shipping chargers. All prices in US Dollars. Equipment is located in Los Angeles, CA, USA. Thanks for looking! 8. Hey Chris, You could try Terry West in LA. techrat@earthlink.net He's offered to have a look at my 2000 when it explodes (even though I told him I'd just throw it away if did). Jon
  9. Making good on my word to post it, here's the url for the new glidecam forum... http://www.glidecamforum.com/conf/index.php
  10. Hey Charles, Glidecam Central?died, for reasons I?ll probably never know. I can?t reach the owner of the site (drummen) and so the site is gone. A new version will be coming soon. I?ll post the url here when it?s up. Jon
  11. It seems like I can?t add attachments in ?General Discussion??will post pictures over in ?Sleds? topic. Jon
  12. I really like the V-35/V-25. The arm is quite smooth with wonderful boom range. The addition of the camera plate to the Glidecam V-Series was a much needed improvement. The battery module is nice: You can finally adjust the damn batteries and achieve something resembling dynamic balance. The gimbal is a massive improvement over the old V-Series gimbal. It?s really smooth ? I almost prefer it to my Gold gimbal! The monitor arm is okay. It?s a bit funky with all of its joints. I doubt it could support too much weight, but then again the system is designed for lighter cameras so lcd monitors would be the way to go. The one thing that was still being worked on was the upper j-box. They were going with a design like the 3A, the box that hangs out in front (only their prototype at NAB 2005 had it hanging off the back by mistake). I don?t know if that?s the plan for now, but I?d prefer a set-up more like the Gold (or most sleds out there) where the power and video connectors were integrated into the head, under the camera plate. We?ll see. Oh, and all pieces are supposed to come in black, not just blue or red. I?m not quite sure what the weight limit of the rig is, though. Could never get a straight answer, but I assume that was because they?re still working on it. If I can figure out how to post photos, I?ll put some up (from NAB 2004 & 2005) Jon
  13. Yo BJ! ?Rain, wind, boats, crazy chics??.are you still on ?Hatchet??! Happy Birthday! Jon ?at least we don?t look 30? Hale B)
  14. Terry West might be able to fix it if you don?t want to send it to CIT. He told me if I ever had a problem with my 2000 to send it to him, not CIT (he was amazed to hear that when I had sent mine in a while ago for a similar problem that I got it back in 2 weeks?hearing these stories, I guess I?m amazed now, too!). Of course I?d be kind of curious to see a .50Cal slug through a Modulus. Terry West South Bay Film & Video Services 310-374-5711 techrat@earthlink.net Jon
  15. Rob is right about this. I?ve flown an Arri BL4 on my Gold Arm, but not regularly. I think the 535 might start to push it, a bit, if that?s all you?re flying. I fly the MovieCam Compact often, but I?m not sure how that compares to the 535B as far as weight (don?t even think about putting a 535A on the Gold Arm?you will destroy it). Your best bet, ultimately, might be to mix and match used gear from different sources. Part of me wishes I had done that. But I?ve got to say, the Gold Vest is one of my favorites. Other than the Klassen Harnesses, I recommend that as one of my top choices. Just so you know, my ideal rig would be: PRO Sled PRO Arm MK-V Gimbal Glidecam Gold Vest and/or Klassen Harness That?s what I?m most comfortable in. But then again, that?s just me. Jon
  16. Hey Kapil, Glidecam just isn?t as put together as the others. To save production costs, they put things together in such a way that will still work, but not as user friendly as the others. For example, the fore/aft adjustment is in the back, not along the side of the top stage using a worm gear. That was a cheaper way of making the sled. That?s fine, but it bugs me to have to reach under the camera or mag to move the camera plate. There are other things here and there, but like I said before, it?s not a bad system. You just might find yourself grumbling every now-and-then at some of the little things. I personally am not a fan of the 3A sled, but it?ll handle those cameras weight wise. You?ll have to add a battery or a 12-24v converter to power those cameras. Jon
  17. Hey Kapil, The Gold is a good system, it?s just not a slick as many of the others. But you do get a lot of bang for your buck. It can handle the Arri Cameras. Try it out, if you can get your hands on one. See if you like it. You may just prefer a PRO or Tiffen model. And you can check out the Glidecam Forum if you want to talk to other Glidecam Owners. http://www.glidecamcentral.com/community/ Jon
  18. I was just at the PRO workshop over this past weekend and the GPI folks told me to contact them about financing for one of their rigs. I was given a different name to contact (Mike Medcalf), but it?s the same company. I was told that a few operators had some good luck with them in the recent past. But that?s about all I know. I too would like to hear if anyone has dealt with them in the past and what their experiences were like. Jon
