  1. Lars I like your solution for the weights on the yoke. That will work alot better for me since I'm getting a light haze and some bleed through from my Modulus when I attach it to the back of the LCD. As far as the rail set-up I'll have to take some photos of the sled and photoshop some rails and mounts and run it past you guys to see what you think. I haven't purchased a set or Antlers yet so I don't have a idea on the shaft size to make sure it will be able to mount / pass between the battery rails. I'll post the photo soon as I add the rails. PS: My batteries are IDX s10's ( just under 2 lb each)
  2. Hello fellow Archer owners I also took delivery of my Archer in early Feb and I've been working it hard ever since. I can see the need for more weight on the lower end of the rig when flying the larger video cameras with wireless units, prompters and other crap that ends up in the rig. I've been mounting my Modulus on the back of the monitor with velcro to add some weight and also keep all the cabling in one place. I've had great results with it. Also Lars made the point about Antlers in Low Mode and that option would be great and a shorter post option would be nice. Richard does your new bracket mount on the rods and if so can the bracket center slide forward of the post to add wieght to the front ? I know it all bepends on how far your battery is extended aft but can you give me an idea of its movement For and Aft? I've been thinking about a mount so be flexable to handel a few needs. My thought was to remove the 2 screws on the monitor yoke and fab a bracket to drop down and then turn 90 degrees aft and attach to the 2 knobs on the battery section. This bracet could use 2- 15mm rods and be the standard seperation so as the use stock matte box mounts and brackets. The 90 degree platform would limit the amount of DB and other tweeks if the Antlers / Weight needs adjustment between shots. I know this would add more weight than just a simple rod bracket but I'd help to shorten the post a bit because of more weight on the lower. Mikko, Lars and Richard what are your thoughts. I'm not a fabricator just an operator with an idea. P.S - Mikko , Congrats on your Rig !
  3. Good to know. I'll stay clear. Thanks all
  4. All I'm looking for a low mode bracket and I came acrossed the Plus 8 Digital "Cinesmart" Steadicam Low Mode Bracket. It looks like a plate with a screw clamp attached to fit on a standard video camera handel. I could'nt find any good pics of the plate to see if they have more than one row of mounting threads. Has anyone else tried it and what makes it good or bad ? Also whats it cost ? Thanks
  5. Marc I own several Storm Cases and I love them. Also try www.cases2go.com out of Lutz, FL. They may be closer to you and save you some money on shipping. I've bought all my cases from them and I've found that they have great turn around. Also ,Always check to see if the case comes with foam an what type. The cube is easy to work with but will start to fall apart faster than a solid foam. To cut the solid foam I've used an old hacksaw blade and heated it up with a torch. It cuts like butter ! Good Luck
  6. Erwin Yup, it's right there. :D Thanks

    Archer

Hello Archer owners I just recieved my Archer the first week of the month and I've been able to Dynamic Balance my DSR-450 only after velcoing my Modulus on the back of the monitor. I tried to "DB" a Panasonic DVX-100A today and I'm having a time of it. I have a BFD reciver and a Modulus on the top stage to add some weight and a IDX-10 battery suppling power on the lower. The gimbel is just shy of half way down the post with the lower section all the way up. It's close but not perfect ;) . Do you guys have any ideas or expeience with this size camera with-out a cage? 9. Daniel I've traveled by air with AB Hytron 50's for the past 3 years 3 times a month. I never had a problem with checked bags and only once did I have a TSA worker question what it was  and go get his Boss for approval when it was in my camera bag. Kurt Warner
  10. EFP Owners I'm looking to buy a EFP ( Sled , Vest and Arm ) Please contact me if you are selling. Kurt Warner Upstate NY 518 466-7255 kwarner@nycap.rr.com
  11. Chris I just bought 2 Hytron 50's from evsonline.com and they matched the B&H price quoted on the web. They have a store on each coast so shipping was quick . One thing to note about AB's trade-in program is that it is no longer. They discontinued it the end of last month so forget about getting any trade-in discount . I ordered my batteries from Lou in the Philly store and was very happy with their service. Kurt Warner

  14. Hello I'm a new operator and I've read allot about the Modulus 3000 and it seems to me that most of you use it, and love it. But I'd like to know if anyone in the States has used any other units like the Transvideo "Titan" or a "Black Box Video" ( UK) unit and / or others? How do they work on location and is the Modulus the best unit for a Steadicam? Thanks for your time Kurt Warner
