I am looking to rent a Steadicam package in Seattle on May 24-25, preferably a Master series. Will also consider hiring the owner to assist if necessary.
Are there any Master owner/operators in that area?
Here is my contact info:

Are there any companies that make a Steadicam docking bracket that will allow you to tilt the sled while it's docked? It seems I am often asked to frame up a shot while the lighting dept tweeks, or the video engineers painting to the chip chart. A bracket that would allow a slight tilt up/down would be great, as opposed to suiting up and holding a static shot for several minutes while they stare at the video monitor.
Is this product out there already?

I just bought this 6ft HD cable from R. Orange in LA. This essentially does the same thing as Tiffen's traix adapters, except for HD cables. The cable is also smaller in diameter and more flexible than the triax adapter cable. Works perfectly for those operators who do multi-camera HD television. They can make it with either Lemo or Fisher HD connectors, depending on which tv trucks you plan to work from.
Here is the contact info for where I bought it:

The model number is HDTV06STDYCAMP25 and the price was $760. I bought two...one as a backup.

I just picked up a live multi-camera tv series using the Sony 950 HD cameras (All Mobile Video's HD truck) and need to get a short (6ft or so) super thin fiber cable to connect to the main camera cable, run thru my vest and then connect to the camera (basically to serve the same purpose of Tiffen's triax adapters, except for the Sony 950). I believe there is fiber along with a couple of conductors inside the cable.
Does anyone know where to get these...or have them custom made? I already checked with Fred Davis, but he doesn't do fiber.
Thanks,
John

Does anyone have an old LC3 they want to get rid of (working or not)? I need one for parts.
Thanks,

I am selling four batteries that came with my CP Master Series Film rig. They were all recelled about 2 years ago. One of the four probably needs to be recelled again. They are cosmetically in excellent shape.
$1400 for all four.

Hi Dave,
Instead of shipping your rig, you could go "Amazing Race" style and check your cases as regular luggage on your commercial flight. My insurance already covers my equipment in transit, and I usually fly with a group and each crew member will check one of my cases, thus eliminating excess baggage or shipping charges. I have had pretty good luck with this system. If you fly Air France, they have a 32 kilo maximum on each checked piece.
