  1. Just so everyone knows why I will be asking lots of questions, I am putting together my Steadicam gear again. I have bits a pieces of a lot of things and I am adding to the pile, (Thanks Robert for the BFD remote), so please bear with me. Thought I was done...but noooo, I'm back and love'n it! OK, enough of that... My question for today is: I have a J7 zoom control that is not working properly and would like know if it's worth the time and expense to try to get it repaired or should I just use it for a fishing lure? Second question: If I did try to bring it back to life, where could I sent it for repair? Thanks in advance for your guidance, Jeff
  2. Rob, I have been keeping the sled basically setup ready to go in a soft case that I have and was trying to do the same with a hard case. I have a 1650 and the sled is about 1 1/2" to long for it. After looking at the 1730 I realized that it's a monster and would be a pain to lug around. I have seen other rigs in the long Pelican/Storm type cases but never was able to find out which case was being used. I'm still looking...
  3. I am loking to get a hard case for my EFP sled. Everything else I have is in Pelican cases, so I would like to "keep it in the family" and buy another one. Is anyone using the 1730? It seems a bit big. My other option is one of the rifle cases, the 1700 or 11720. They are long enough but they are ony 5.25" wide. Anyone using one of these? Any info will be greatly apprecated. Thanks, Jeff Cook
  4. Thanks for the support. And yes Rob & Imran, my EFP is about to be attached to the Frankin-Rig electrodes, (via MK-V), and should sprout new appendages soon.
  5. Hello, my name is Jeff and I am a?a?ah?a Steadicamoholic?(there I said it!). It?s been 3 weeks since I last flew and I have found it very hard to be ?on the wagon ?, (tripods). I have been good since I sold my Master Series two years ago, shooting from lock down locations that a tripod can provide, with some occasional handheld work when needed. Sure, I had some slipups. It started out slow, like on a DV job somebody brought a Merlin and said ?go ahead, try it, everybody?s using them?. Then I found myself wondering into trade shows, glancing at the new rigs, trying on vests and extending a few arms. I even had a crazy night with an Ultra only to find out that she left me for another ?Demo??I felt used. Then, I was alone with this sexy little thing. I didn?t think much of her a first, what kind of name is ?Flyer? anyway. Then I put her on and it all came rushing back to me like a long lost love, I was flying my shots again. High shots, low shots, running down the hallways I felt like an adrenaline junkie B.A.S.E. jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge! Now, I have rescued an EFP rig from the Steadicam Human Society and have returned to the forum for advice and guidance - I?m back! Jeff Cook
  6. I own a F350 and have been using it with my Master Series rig. I found with a matte box up front, an Anton Bauer Hytron on the back balances the camera just about right. With a Dionic battery it is very lens heavy. One accidental cool feature is it has a LCD screen on the side of the camera which I used once on a Don Juan move.... a lot easier on the neck. BTW - Thanks for the Plate
  7. I am looking for an extra Dovetail Plate. My need is not pressing enough to bu a new plate, so I was wondering if anyone had a extra one that they no longer needed. Any conditon is fine.
  8. Marc, Hey, it's your old Steadicam classmate Jeff Cook. I have been off the forum for quite some time and wanted to check in because I too am looking into changing out my monitor on my rig. Please let me know what you find out, because what I've read here is exactly what I would like to do.
  9. I have a Master Series Film Rig and accessories I am about to put up for sale. Let me know if you are interested and I can send you more details. Jeff Cook Email: jeff@jctv.com
  10. I recently lost my Wireless Video system while traveling and need a replacement. Anyone know where I can get a Modulus 3000? Any help would be great. Thanks
