  1. Klassen Dual mount vest. This is the vest that gives the best of both worlds, (and the flexibility!). You can back mount the rig or for tight spaces or walking forwards/shooting backwards, front mount the arm. I bought the vest in 2008 and it is in good shape, but obviously used.

It comes with the usual accessories as well as the additional socket block for front mounting.

Now asking C$3,700.00 and I will ship wherever at your cost.

This vest is good for someone who is 5'8" tall +/- 2", about 155 lbs +/- 10 lbs, and has a 30" waist +/- 2". Walter will work with the purchaser to assure a good fit.

    Thanks

  3. Well, I sold the rig, except for the vest. (The buyer was somewhat larger than I am). So I have a Klassen Universal Dual mount vest. This is the vest that gives the best of both worlds, (and the flexibility!). You can back mount the rig or for tight spaces or walking forwards/shooting backwards, (also known as the "Don Juan"), front mount the arm. I bought the vest in 2008 and it is in good shape, but obviously used.

New this harness with carrying bag goes for over $7,000. I'm asking $4,800 plus whatever shipping and taxes are due.

This vest is good for someone who is 5'8" tall +/- 2", about 155 lbs +/- 10 lbs, and has a 30" waist +/- 2". Walter will work with the purchaser to assure a good fit.

  4. Well as promised, here is my full steadicam package for sale. This system has served me well and is now waiting for its next "dance" partner.

I would like to sell it as a complete package and not part it out.

    • 10 Anton Bauer Li Dionic 90 batteries (6 new last year)
    • 2 Anton Bauer chargers w/ Pelican case
    • 4 camera plates

  5. So...it's the end of almost 30 years for me...Last week I did my last Steadicam shot before I hang up the rig, (and put it up for sale). An easy walk and talk in front of Metro Hall. 3 takes... moving on.

I'm NOT stopping doing camera work. I'm NOT retiring. I'm just not doing Steadicam. It's tough for me to give it up, as I enjoyed the "dance", but I know that in 10 years time I'll still be able to walk up and down stairs without a problem.

ps. I'll be posting my rig for sale in a couple of days.

  6. This case was made by Quantum Scientific. About 15 years old and still in good condition. It's really light! A bit of surface rust on one of the catches but otherwise fine. The photo of the interior with my rig in it is for illustration only, (I'm not selling the rig yet).

    Dimensions 31" x 20" x 9"

New they are over $500 + the cost of the foam.

Asking $200 + shipping and HST if in Canada

  7. I have a job starting in a couple of days and suddenly we have to be able to scrape the ground as well as be able to get shots at eye level of a guy in a carriage, (don't ask why). Fortunately not at the same time, (no I'm not interested in a Revolution).

I have a Pro rig with the new battery block, (Pro 1.5? anton bauer) and the superpost I rented before wont work because of the type of mount.

So...does anyone have a superpost I can rent for a few weeks, (possibly til mid july), here in Toronto?

phone me and we can work out the details

  8. Hi Jess

Well over the last couple of decades I've fallen 4 times. First time was running up a set of stairs onto a stage and because iwas looking at the monitor thought I was further than I was and put a foot where a stair riser would be but wasn't. Skinned my leg snapped the lens off the Betacam, broke my monitor mount on the 2A and my ego dropped through the floor. Oh yes all of this in front of a couple of thousand concert goers. Second time chasing the actor across a field, (I was the vampire bat or some such thing), he is supposed to fall and I'm supposed to drive the lens "into" his neck. 3 takes no problem as we worked out how he would fall and how I would miss stepping on him. Take 4 he lands differently and I have to do a fancy 2 step to avoid his family jewels. Throw the rig sideways, snap the mag off and bend the eye piece. Third time walking backwards at a good clip. Spotter trips on slightly raised manhole lid. I step on spotter's foot. He now stops moving, I continue to walk up his leg and then sit on him. No damage other than grip's ego. Last time running through battle sequence and "dying" soldier decides to die before the camera gets to him. I trip over him no damage to rig or me. Soldier, (he really was one), goes to hospital because of dislocated hip from me falling on him.

So those are my stories. I use spotters but always warn them that I'm faster than they think, so be ready for it.

    cheers

  11. Hi all

Just thought I'd give it a try...

Anyone have a FM vest lying around collecting dust they'd want to part with?

    Let me know!

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Sven

I have both a CP IIIA vest and a Pro vest for sale. CP vest is well used and is going for US$1500.00. The Pro is about 2 years old and very lightly used, (effectively new), and is going for US$4000.00. North American shipping is included in both prices. If you are interested let me know.

    Hey Guys,

I´m a relative newbie and got the chance to pick up training at a steadicam rental house with the

latest PRO gear, just the Problem I have is Im a pretty slim guy (I can fit a 28" jeans...) so their Vests dont really have a tight fit on me.

Anybody got an old vest lying around that he wants to sell for a few bucks? I dont care if its a totally worn out Baer-Bel or 3A or EFP or whatever type of vest, like I said its for picking up training and not for jobs yet... .

    Let me know,

    thanks for helping out,

    cheers,

    Chris

  13. Hi All

Currently cleaning up the office and have the following stuff for sale:

    Pro 1 battery stage

9 Pro 1 batteries, some may need repacking, but they do hold a charge.

Pag AR30 charger w/3 PRO 1 battery pigtails

    Coherent VHF Ch 13 transmitter

Preston charger, (old style UHF system), with 2 batteries.

I have photos of all the stuff which I will email, so make me an offer.

I will ship where ever by what ever method the buyer, (that would be you), wants.

    cheers

    Rod

  14. I have a partial Preston FI-Z system for sale. It includes the following items:

    FI-Z hand unit

    MDR motor driver and receiver

UHF transmitter, upgraded, (by Cramped Attic - Vancouver)

Sony Charger SQ950 and 2 Sony Li Batteries.

    12-24 volt adaptor

    3 antennas

    FI-Z to Transmitter bracket.

The whole system works well. It does NOT include motors, or accessory cables. I updated my system a year ago and kept this as a back up. It is compatible with current motors and microforce zooms.

To make this fully functional you will need the following, a motor or two, motor cables and brackets, stop start cables for the appropriate cameras, power cables for your rig or stand alone, and a few other odds and ends that I can't remember.

    Asking price US$3500.00

  15. Hi folks

I'm in the market for a new post/gymbal and top d-box etc. Currently have a Pro model 1 w/a model 2 battery cage. I'm looking for something a little more rigid than the current set up and with a little more extendability. What have you got, are happy with, what are the advantages/disadvantages etc.

    thanks for the input.

    Rod

  16. Mark

I wouldn't recomend taking things apart every time you need to store them unless it involves a cheap easily replacable screw of which you have a dozen in hand. I have a similar setup to yours and didn't like the fiberglass/plywood cases that were available. Too heavy, (expensive for shipping by air), they leak when wet, (sitting on the tarmac at a shut down airport during a thunderstorm). etc. I had an aluminum case made to my specs by a company here in Toronto, Quantam Scientific, www.cyber-case.com. Have had it now for 8 years and very robust and very light. Oh yeah if I remember it cost me about C$550.00.

    good luck Rod
