  1. I have an old style 3a vest and like many things is starting to show it's age. Specifically the velcro on the waist belt is starting to wear out. How do I replace it? Is it just a matter of me taking the stitches out and then restitching, (I'm assuming by hand) some new fuzzy velcro? Any ideas, suggestions would be welcome.

    Thanks all

  2. The 535B is a well balanced camera. It doesn't draw a lot of power and if your batteries are full up you should be able to get quite a few mags per battery. By not getting the video tap only you are going to add a couple of extra pounds, (at the top of the camera). Changing taps takes literally seconds, so it must be a money thing.

    Have fun.

  3. I have a Preston FI+Z handset for sale. this is just the controller NOT the transmitter or MDR. It was serviced by Preston last year and is in good shape, but obviously used. I'm selling it as I upgraded to the digital zoom.

It's located in Toronto, so I can ship it to you. Sold as is, but you have 5 days to check it out. Make me an offer. email <steadicam@rodcrombie.com> or phone 416 720 7358

  4. I have a set of sony glasstrons, (about 5 years now), and have used them for various shots where I couldn't get my head near the camera. I wouldn't dream of using them while using a steadicam. If you cant see your monitor then there is something wrong with the way it's set up.

I found them the most useful while using remote heads in full sunlight and the supplied monitor is really flared out. As others have said, they can be very disorienting, so practice with them first.

    cheers
