The end of another year is approaching. I will be closing down for a couple weeks from December 16, 2011 to January 3, 2012. Time to recharge a bit!

Alec, Your right, I forgot about a story I have regarding George. When I went to see George about buying a vest way back when, I brought my Old EFP Vest with me and told him the issues I was having and that I wanted to be fit for one of his vests. He told me, "Your wearing that vest hours on end right?" yes I said. "and is it hurting you?" No I said, Then he says, " Go put buckles on it and upgrade the padding and come see me when you break the leather shoulder straps" . I was shocked, he basically talked me out of buying his vest, he saved me a bunch of money and it wasn't until I sold that vest, which I called the 76 Cadillac , because that's how it felt when I wore it, that I went straight over to Pro and finally got to be fitted for a new Pro Vest. I knew then that this company cares about the business of steadicam and not just the bottom line of money. Can't wait to see the future of Pro =} Hit em straight George and play the 3rd hole in Punta Mita Mexico I hope you enjoy your retirement George. There is not enough praise that be given to you and the changes that you made to the Steadicam industry. You can look at your accomplishments with pride as your creations continue to be used to CREATE long after they left your shop.

I can't seem to locate the name of the CRT repair that I sent operators for Green Screen repairs. Does anyone know of someone that replaces the green filter on old Steadicam monitors? Thanks

Not so fast there tex. IF you have a Cinetronics Monitor you can plug it in and it will work just fine. Cinetronics has thoughtfully put reverse polarity protection in their monitors so that it doesn't care if you have power reversed at the input, the monitor will sort it out and power up Cool, didn't know that!

The SI 2K 3D Sync Box has two very inviting 8-pin Lemo connectors. According to the SI pinout it's polarity on pins 1and 2 are reverse from that of the Pro Style 8-pin. DO NOT PLUG ANY PRO COMPATIBLE MONITOR IN THIS UNIT. YOU WILL FRY IT!

I just got the size 00 4-pin connectors in for making Red Epic Remote cables. I also have the power connectors to power the Red Epic from the Steadicam.

Yes it is a size 1 split key female 6- pin connector with four power pins in a diamond shape and two smaller ones that you probably won't care about.

I have those schematics. It is the same circuit as the models II & III, just configured differently.

Just placed an order for the Epic power connectors. I will soon be able to make Steadicam to Epic cables.

No one has been able to explain to me why young men and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only get 50% of their pay. While Politicianshold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive full pay retirement after serving one term. It just does not make any sense. Monday on Fox news they learned that the staffers of Congress family members are exempt from having to pay back student loans. This will get national attention if other news networks will broadcast it. When you add this to the below, just where will all of it stop? 35 States file lawsuit against the Federal Government Governors of 35 states have filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention. This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on. This is an idea that we should address. For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest is to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law. I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop. If each person that receives this will forward it on to 20 people, in three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message.. This is one proposal that really should be passed around. Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ." I just purchased a fiber optic fusion splicer. Any info on the type of cable and connectors that Mohawk is using on their fiber optic cable? I figure that would be a good cable to learn on. Thanks Terry

Just letting you all know that I am closing down for the year. I will close from December 15 and open again on January 10. We are taking a much needed vacation.

I used to love it when Bob and Dave would come into the shop. They always had such a positive outlook on life.

Brian, I am sorry to hear about the stolen Flyer and would like the thief to know (just in case he is monitoring this site) that if it turns up in my workshop; it will be returned to its proper owner and you will be dealt with properly.
