James, how long of a southwest flight are you considering? Short flight's are ok but considering any long distance I'd avoid this airline. It's kinda like a flying bus ride, no frills and usually crowded because of the cheap fares. If you want to tell me the city's you will be flying to and from I don't mind giving some suggestions. Southwest short ok/ long not so great. I call them Southworst most of the time. Try from LA to Vegas United ,Us airways,America west I think all of these airlines are partners these day's. I got some info from Anton Bauer awhile back and if the charger is serial #8000 or higher it can be upgraded. How I don't know? So it would charge nickel metal hydride no lithium ion's. I guess it would still charge nickel cadium also. I would check with Anton Bauer to be sure. Hope this is helpful, Todd F.
