hello. You postet on steadicamforum that you are looking for a steadicam package. I have Pro Gear Steadi, with all you need, it can use small dv-cameras and it can use BIG movie cameras.. Are you still looking to buy? You live in England right.. I live in Denmark, so sending the steadi to UK is easy. do anyone know how the gyro works with running and stopping fast....? and what about using only one gyro at the time on the rig.. I need to doo a lot of sports, and need to run with the fotball players, but when they stop and turn around then I need to stop right away.. with no level problems.

Hey There.. I know that HD Fiber cabel is a tricky one... because you cant just go and make a cabel, its very hard to fix and repair. Ony special companys can make that steadicam cabel.. The fiber cabel will not work if there is the smallest error in the cabel. In Denmark the major tv stations is converting to HD now.. and I have been working on Sony HD. "trust me many times the cabel had errors" Triax is mutch more stabel. Hope for the best!

Hey there I wear soccer/fotball t-shirts, because the body heat can with ease get out and away from the body. I allways chose blach shirts, but still, soccer/futball shirts with tiny small holes in the material.

Well Carl.. <_< Thats a tuff one, Many people have diferent menings about that.. I have owned a Basson Steadi system, and that is.. well not something you would sell, its okay bot not for a good store like yours. I think you should take all the Glidecam And maby Varizoom, that way you have many "small" steadi systems as well as the big firms. Dont take systems from countrys far away.. then they cant give the support you need.. ( FlyCam/Basson) Hope that helps.. :D

I hear you.. I also had guite a big big bill from UPS!!! to transport a steadicam monitor from LA to Europe... So guys, always try to use or look for some other firms.. the biggest is often the most expensive and they have the big brand allready so they dont care if the small costumer gets a bad deal or deliverey.

Hey There... (( I dont like when you "guys" talk bad about products or about pepole of the buisness)) I have tryed many systems, from the basson, glidecam, baerbel, steadicam, progear, Pro. I have sold my basson steadi, and got my self a ProGear system, that works and "looks" like the pro, as many of you guys know.. :lol: maby some copy there.. B) Anyway.. answer to your question! I have owned the Basson, the largest/big bodel, and I used 2000 USD to upgrade it, and many houers. then it was nice and black, lookt good and had a real batteri v-lock system, and basson does not have that from factory-and thats a problem when you need fresh batteries quick. Anyway i also had build in all the standart XLR/lemo build in, ( basson only have phono/jack from facktory) and I was ready to go.. Got the package in a nice peli case.. NOW that system is nice.. and good.. <_< to use at small independent dv films, small local commercials, or local cabel tv-stations. Great steadicam for that.. and good practice to lern how a steadicam is and how to use the steadi. BUT :o I am working professional with broadcasting for very big tv stations in europe. and the basson was not good enough.. why- the steadi arm, is not smooth at all, but works. The vest is fine, The post is heavy, and big, But the problems is the arm and gimbal.. the gimbal is not smooth, and it is to unstabel. you cant make a zoom in picture steadi in the frame.. the arm and gimbal is too unstabel.. So... I used the basson as a steadi to lern the steadicam better, and took the workshop in maine. I was happy to have the basson, and sold it to a young man that was a beginner. So I got the big ProGear system and used the big money on that!! now I have no problems with anything, And I feel I can take any job that calls for me.. ( with the basson I diddent want to use it for the big jobs, so i rentet a steadicam instead, and left the basson at home) :rolleyes: so my words to you is.. if you want to use a steadicam system for real and be in the professional league, you have top go with a used steadicam!!! sometimes look at www.ebay.com I just got 4 NP1 batteries, from a German company.. and at a very good price.. ( think it was about 170 USD )

you can always try www.progear.dk but be cairfull... they have problems with deliverey.. so payment up front is sometimes a "dangerus" thing.. :D

I just got the Sachtler arm soft bag, its just like Tiffen, but Sachtler. The Price for me was 170.00 USD. But maby you can get better price... Anyway the soft bag for my arm is the way to go.. easy and well done, very good quality. Regards Johan.

Hello Rick. Well you are right, and if it was my buisness the support would be a lot different.. I think any owner of a company wants the best service.. I think so too that the respons of emails is selective and that is a problem.. And in the end it's ProGear that loses the money and costumers! but still if anywone have a serius problem with Progear I will try to get that problem resolved. johan. :rolleyes:

Hello Guys :P I am Johan Windfeld, I live in Denmark! Copenhagen, and gues what.. ProGear is locatet in my city.I know Jan, and I just got a progear arm and on friday a new vest... Jan have told me that the ProGear buisness is going very vell, and the orders is so many that he have a hard time to keep up with the orders and emails.. Trust me! But take a look at this.. Progear is only a company with 2 people!!!! so, like any other steadicam company there is many people to answer questions and making the steadicam parts.. He told me thats the reason why he have a hard time to keep up and answer all the questions.. But I know.. I live in Copenhagen and even for me it's sometimes hard to get Jan to the phone!! Listen here guys.. I feel baad about you ops that are living not in Denmark! So If you are having any problems with Progear and Jan... Then contact me and I will take your question or your problem to Jan. I like Progear and the products is great. Too bad that the customer support is so bad.. So let me help you and help progear to get that better! :) i dont work with Jan/Progear.. hey There.. In Europe, we use steadicam in many big sport events, and often in Football. Socker..... The steadicam is often used at the end of the field to shoot the goals and when the players run close to the steadi... as a effect shot.. And in the beginning of the sport event the steadi goes in to the field with the players and shows the players up close.. In almost all the big european fotball events there is always steadicam or crane. regards Johan Windfeld... and trust me.. the running is very hard! :P

What about the Basson Pro.. The biggest model they ever made.. Black all over and re designed. not like the other models!! www.johanwindfeld.com look at the picture... Its a steadi with 2 sets of springs, for heavy and light weight! 4 springs in the arm at all time. The batteri system is Sony V-lock. it can use 2 batteries at the time.. or only one. the steadi can fly like 5 houers at the time with out taking newly charged batteries.
