If you are looking to buy a steady system.. a cheap one.. why not buy at better one than magic cam? Look at the basson.. bigger springs and wider load on the arm... I know a friend that are thinking about selling his Basson Pro. That is a Basson model only made custom. With green screen/ Real V-lock batteri system. 2 batteries at the time.. and 2 set of springs to change the arm. 12v power out and bubbele level with light. Ahhhh thats alll, I think he is asking about 6000 USD. and thats 3 with Peli flightcases. :blink:

lern to work with a normal broadcast camera first. (and that i not a XL1 or a VX, pd ) When you know how the camera works and how to deal with camera problems. Then you can take a workshop and lers steadicam. If you think that you can work with steadicam and get jobs.. then what about when the camera brakes down? or the DP ask you for a special shot and you dont know enoght about composing a good shot... And that can take from 1 year to 10 years to lern... All operators have camera knowlege. And the last thing. as the other operators on this forrum is saying.. the jobs you will get comes from the movie buisness and television.. so you have to make many friends and contacts... that will give you the jobs.. If you dont have that then you will not have any jobs.. It's not so sound like an old man, but thats the reality of this hard buisness.. :D

Hello. To my knolege the "don" is when you are facing faward and walking farward, butthe steadicam is facing backwards! and you can then film a person walking when you too are walking right in front of thet person.. so that way you can see where you are walking or running. (you cant run fast when you are running backwards) so then you have to make the "don" :D

Hello. Here in Denmark/Sweden there is very few steadicam operators.. but they are the best! The very best.. they can operate perfect and run up and down on special build rails and run at the side at a football match. There is about 10 serius operators in Denmark & Swende, and thew work sometimes 8 houers or more with the rig on. So the thing is here.. they have the jobs! and they are known as the best, so other and new operators cant get in to steadicam operating.. the cant steal the jobs from "super steadicam operators".. B)

Im smiling all over :D -But yes the man on the photos is holding the "steadi" like its a farmer tool, maby he was using it in the corn fields :P If you run fast thrug the corn fields, then maby you can cut the corn like a bug farmer machine? (Thats the way Basson started as a farmer tool)..

look at www.progear.dk ( the site is not working great, but look arround) The steadicam is made like CP, and its light weight. The prise is about 25.000 USD. But the company is going slow, and they are not trying to sell this steadi.. they have only made the steadicam systeml -and now the production is only standing still untill orders come or the intrest gets higher. Normaley they are making light/sungun and other things in metal/alu.. I have not tryed it but I know a operator with a Master rig that got his arm stolen from his car, and then he got the Arm from ProGear and he said: :D Its amasing that this arm is so mutch under the normal price and it works just as great!! I feel that I have used a lot of money on CP steadicam... :unsure: Take a look and see if you like the European version of steadicam? :ph34r:

very funny :D no no I live in Europe and I have a CP Ultra, but im only saying that if you only have seen photos of other systems, then how can you say what it feels like to fly.. :rolleyes: Many operators say if its not CP it's crap.. (Yes a Porsche is great but a Fort can also do the work... you see my point)

Tjeck the new basson system on the official web site www.bassonsteadi.com.ar The firm has made a bigger and new model that takes more weight. And the Canadian firm! Well thats somthing else, that is a scam and fraud ;) To chargen 9.000 USD over the normal price is so unprofessional. And yes the Basson rental is a bit high (800USD) bettter if it was 450USD BUT again- remember that the prices on rental and sale you have is from the scam company in Canada... they cant be taken serius :ph34r: See ya

If you are a new steadi operator with no money then The basson is quite okay. The Basson is not as good as a cp steadicam but its better than a glidecam or a hollywood lite. remember the basson can fly a big camera and a small movie camera! and the operator can make the steadi even better with: New batteri system vest ajustments arm ajustments replace electronic. wires and connectors replaces with standart like "lemo and BNC" the basson has phono from new! You have to try it before you can say what you think of it! And this is comming from a Steadicam operator that works with a Ultra & EFP B)

:P I have tryed the Basson Steadicam and the Basson is not a Steadicam no, but it is also very mutch under the steadicam price! dont forget that <_< The Basson is flying okay and fine with any Beta,DVCAM, and even bigger like HD and 16 mm. The steadi needs some ajustments, but the operator can very well make them him self and save a load of money. The basson is a bit more heavy, the arm is working as a steadi arm, but its more in the way of the operator when you are in small places. The batteri system is crap!! needs to be replaces with a professional Anton Bauer/PAG og other.. when you buy a Basson it comes with a motorcycel batteri or somthing like that :angry: ;)
