  1. Anyone upgrading to an MDR3 looking to sell a MDR 2 Cinetape interface cable? lkarman@me.com
  2. You are complaining because the company is offering a warranty extension? Come on, man. Arri offers a warranty extension for the Alexa after 1 year. It cost $5000 and is only for 1 year! Just stop.
  3. Width of bracket is 7 9/16" wide. May fit monitors other than Cinetronic.
  4. What kind of lame rental house couldn't figure that out for you or is unwilling to try?
  5. Costs $325 new plus tax. Asking $199 email me direct @ lkarman@me.com
  6. Preston's service has been great. They have been quick to make repairs when I needed it. I have an Alexa and needed to replace a noisy fan. I waited almost 7 weeks for a replacement. If they don't stock a simple fan with thousands of Alexas in the field, I wonder what the repair/parts time would be for the WRC and motors? I can't say too much about the Arri WRC. I have tested it and I know the AC's had an issue or 2 regarding software. That may have been addressed by now. Being able to control the camera from it (we couldn't) is a plus. The older system had range issues, that may have been worked out by now? The AC's said the vibrating stops were actually distracting.
  7. Finally had a chance to see this film. What an amazing job Chris and Gregor did. Truly awe inspiring. Having worked with Gregor I had a sense the focus was done old school. Still hoping I will get the chance to operate a show like this.
  8. Phillipe, I have your Dock n Roll and love it. While this product sounds like a great idea for low mode use, the space you show it mounted is taken up, at least on my PRO rig and I imagine quite a few others, by the Preston FIZ receiver and motors/cables. No room for this.
  9. This was an issue with the 1st generation Bolt 2000. After testing today I can now say that it is not an issue with the latest generation Bolt 2000 (with dual input and LCD screen). Now image is fine with SDI output. My apologies if I misled anyone. I was only using HDMI input on the new one prior to today.
  10. I'm working with a very knowledgeable DIT. He has experience with this issue on prior movies and emphatically insists that the problem is with the BOLT and not the monitors. Sony and TV Logic monitors will reveal this problem. Now if that is specific to only those brand of monitors, I suppose one could claim the problem is with the monitor. Fact is the transmitter should work with EVERY monitor, and those brands are the most popular and common monitors found on professional sets.(and some monitors should work with EVERY camera) And while Eric may have found some setting that fixed his issue, I can't find any settings in the monitors I am working with that do. I wish Teradek would chime in on this.
  11. hand on left is waving left and right. Hand on right is still.
  12. Yes, rethink your Bolt order and get the HDMI input. This psf problem was pointed out to me by the DIT. To my knowledge Teradek has yet to solve the issue. When first confronted with the problem they said it was in the Aminon (sp) chip software and they had no control over it. Later I was told they are working on it. I'll try and post a picture of the issue. Using HDMI has solved the problem. The Bolt 300 does not have this issue; p or psf, no difference. The image kind of smears when things move in the frame. No issue seeing the menus without the viewfinder as long as you use either of the bottom 2 SDI outputs #'s 3&4. They output the frame lines and status info, which will show up on your monitor along with the menus. And the LED panel on the side of the camera shows all menu info. One thing to remember, Brooks , is the 16x9 image has NO safety area top and bottom. The output is full frame 17x9 with only a little safety are right and left (which is recorded but if transferred correctly, not used)
  13. Power is a 4 pin XLR or a battery on the back Run/stop is a 4 pin Hirose. Think it's pins 1 and 3 to trip. Preston sells them. Panavsion has a cheese plate top and bottom built on. Much lighter than the Alexa Don't know about the DP 7, but psf only SDI output is a slight problem for the Bolt 2000. While the picture will transmit the image is not good for focus pulling when things move in the frame. This is solved by using the HDMI output of the camera which is a "p" output. The newest Bolt 2000 has an HDMI input. (same issue on the Alexa if using psf
  14. Using that camera now and have learned a few things. The easiest solution is to just run an HDMI cable out of the camera (which outputs 1080p) down in front to the monitor. Make sure that output is enabled in the menus. There are thin HDMI cables available and while not elegant it does not get in the way of the arm or gimbal. There is also a 1080p SDI output out of the S-Log card recorder that docks onto the back of the camera. There are no frame lines or camera info that pass through that output and the color is a little funky, but it works too. The converters do put in a very slight delay, which may bother some, but are also workable.
  15. This should work for now: http://www.aja.com/en/products/mini-converters/hi5-plus Pretty small and can be velcroed to the back of the monitor, so you can pass HDSDI through the post and then convert to HDMI 1080p into the monitor.
  16. Looking for the PRO focus Lemo output to C-Motion MDR (Cayman?) power input (3 pin fisher I think) email me at lkarman@me.com
  17. $$$. See if you can reach one of the head service techs at Otto's or Clairmont and maybe they have some spare parts to sell. Or Transylvania: http://www.transfilm.com
  18. In a recent communication with Chris he said "soon". I'll leave it to him to fill in the specifics.
  19. Never got one Benjamin. Kind of figured it would stress my knees. Been sticking to my stair machine/ treadmill routine at the gym including, as Rick does, walking backwards on the treadmill. Will set up the rig in the garage with a dummy weight and walk around for back strength if there is a long gap between jobs.
  20. There's a ribbon cable that loosens up inside. Open it up push the ribbon into the plastic connector. And check the seating of any other connectors while you are at it. Simple.
