Seriously, every motor eventually needs service. And then what? Not to mention you could probably pick one of those up used from any number of people smart enough to unload one. And Heden is a much better choice if you want to go analog. Otherwise there are a ton of choices for inexpensive digital systems out there and inexpensive motor choices.

You read the threads and then ordered one???????????????

Yes, it's true. Here is camp focus for just 3 of the 7 cameras we had on Fast and Furious 7 a few weeks ago: -

Where do the focus pullers sit? -
From looking at the F55 Manual it looks like there is a setting to get a 1920X1080 23.98p output from the HDMI connector on the camera. While most sleds do not have internal HDMI through the post, one could run a cable directly to the monitor. Am I wrong about this setting? link to manual: http://community.sony.com/sony/attachments/sony/large-sensor-camera-F5-F55/981/1/F5_F55.pdf

F55 Psf issue with Cinetronic

I suppose one could convert to SD using a Decimator and get a picture. Can't believe there is no setting on that camera to output 1080p. -
flying international with 3200 ISO film
Lawrence Karman replied to brett.mayfield's topic in General Discussion
Had exposed negative (400 or 800 asa) put through an airport x-ray machine and ruined on a film some years ago, despite the markings that said DO NOT X-RAY. Don't let them do it. Interestingly enough, production was able to trace the exact machine the film was put through in shipping to the lab because each machine has a unique radiation signature. Funny story actually: It was the last day of shooting in Denver and I was sent to the airport to shoot a G2 private jet landing and a rich guy disembarking from it. Shooting done and we were to fly back to LA on the same jet. Getting ready to depart, comfortably seated, freshly baked warm cookie being served to me by attractive stewardess when the call came in that all of last night's footage was ruined by the x-ray machine and we had to stay and shoot plates all night. Noooooooooo! -
Mike, Where and how is this update for the 2000 available? Did not see it on the Teradek website.

If you are looking to just add weight you could have a steel plate cut and drilled to match the hole pattern on the back of the monitor. Or just use velcro. Most hardware stores have construction related small steel plates you could use if you want to do it on the cheap.

many of the marshal monitors only have V-mount screw holes.

Hybrid Brushless roll cage on top of Steadicam.
Lawrence Karman replied to Abad Rosa's topic in General Discussion
Why do so many discussions on here wind up in name calling? And talk of who invented what and when and who has patents really should be discussed by the concerned parties and lawyers. Otherwise it's rather boring to read about here. -
Well done, David Allen Grove.

The issue to me is not whether this film should get made but why haven't there been arrests of the people responsible for Sarah's killing already? -
Mike, you've always been fair and helpful with me. But I have to disagree with you. The rx has been redesigned and includes HDMI output as well and an LCD display and is smaller. That looks to me like a significant change to a product that I bought only 5 weeks ago and I imagine the resale value of my already outdated 5 week old unit has been significantly reduced. No mention of these changes were mentioned at the demo I attended only 2 months ago!

Jamie, if you purchased directly from Teradek I understand they have a 30 return policy. So The Bolt 2000 has been out for a whole 2-3 months and it is now outdated? Exchange policy, Mike?

Teradek 2000 performance question
Lawrence Karman replied to brooksrobinson's topic in Video Assist and Video Accessories
Back on point here, after a week of use the Bolt 2000 has performed flawlessly. Both interior and exterior. I guess for $8k it better. Wasn't too far from the receiver but did place it purposely behind concrete column and a wall to test the capabilities. Never lost reception. Like Also flying the Bolt Pro (for AC's monitoring) in close proximity to the 2000 on top of the camera/rig at the same time and no interference issues between the 2. -

Teradek 2000 performance question
Lawrence Karman replied to brooksrobinson's topic in Video Assist and Video Accessories
Brooks, Both the Bolt Pro and Bolt 2k TX will mount via either a 1/4 20 threaded hole on the bottom of the units. You can use a small Noga arm to then attach to the camera via either a 3/6 16 or 1/4 20 mounting point. Also they provide a 1/4 20 thumbscrew to pass through the units and attach to the same on the camera. If you want to go with Velcro one trick I use (and always used with the ultra hot Modulus) is to cut a small rectangle of corrugated chloroplast, the stuff the lightweight eyebrows are made from, put some velcro on that, and zip tie it through the corrugated center to the transmitter in 2 places. Good luck. I will report on the 2000 experience in a few weeks. Tim, Flat panel antennae sounds intriguing. Although hopefully the stock antennae array will work. Trying to carry less stuff.
