  1. I have 8 Dionic HC batts and have never run out of juice. That is my reccomendation. I tried going with only 6 a few years ago and got nervous a few times but never ran out.
  2. First Jay Leno and now this? Jessica, I for one am sorry to see you go. It sounds to me like you have much more important things to deal with than sitting in front of a computer screen and reading all this bullshit. (where does Chameides find the time? ……he never sleeps, obviously he's an alien or a meth addict) Remember, being a camera operator is just a job. It doesn't define you. Your good deeds do.
  3. Thanks for posting that. I was just talking about this on set the other day with someone that experienced the same. And I noticed yesterday I had one of my posts upside down as well (although never had a problem)
  4. I do speak up Dave as I know you do. Especially when it comes to long hours and the dangers of driving exhausted. But in this case we can't expect a 28 year old 2nd AC to say no when maybe she was told it was safe. I don't know the real truth of what occurred the other day. I'm sure there will be a real investigation and hope those responsible will held accountable.
  5. I worked with Sarah last year and I am just horrified by this tragedy. The more I think about it the angrier I am getting. This is no accident. An accident is Sarah walking on the tracks on her day off and getting hit by a train. This is manslaughter or reckless endangerment. Someone put her on those tracks. Not to mention the 7 other people injured. Whether it was the Director, AD, Producer, Director of Photography. Someone needs to be held accountable! Someone in authority should have said no! Working on live tracks? Really? Fuck that! I do know that representatives of the IA were dispatched immeadiatly to the location. Hopefully they will encourage the authorities to prosecute those responsible.
  6. are you sure you have put SDI video input into the IN bnc on the transmitter and not the OUT? I do this sometimes on my Bolt Pro.
  7. i'm pretty sure you could easily mount one of those flat V-triangle thingy's to the Preston bracket I showed which he sells. That's if he doesn't do it already.
  8. Put together a 2nd system so I can rent one out. And I like the pretty lights.
  9. I got this one from Preston that mounts the MDR right side up. They told me Jack no longer wishes to make a similar bracket. Perhaps PRO continues to make the bracket that mounts to the bottom of the MDR 3, I don't know.
  10. I believe Preston is making them. PRO is not.
  11. Thanks for clearing that up. Couldn't tell from the pictures. Looks nice.
  12. Just curios Eric, why do you think you need the side to side adjustment? I have never had an Alexa that wasn't close to being balanced down the center. And why not cut the top stage/PRO plate side angle right into the plate so as to eliminate the need for the extra plate? (I think I know the answer to that: compatibility issues). And can one attach 15mm rods to the front?
  13. Wow, this is what happens when you start tweeting.
  14. I thought PRO made a steel socket block for this reason.
  15. For Sale here is an IDX Camwave CW-1 HD Transmitter, Receiver, Paralinx Crossbow SDI converter for the Transmitter, Atmos Connect H2S HDMI to SDI converter. It’s 5 months old, used only ONCE. I bought it as a back-up and for when I might need extended range. Zero delay, great picture. I’m not really using it and thought I would free up some extra cash to spend on yet more new batteries for the rig. Here is a link that shows a comparison test between this unit, Paralinx and Bolt. It performed best in the comparison test shown. http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=18697&hl= very cost effective way to get into an SDI capable HD Transmitter The Atmos Connect also functions as a SDI test generator and is useful to sort out video cable and monitoring issues. 16. I saw it, it's nice! Eliminates the need for the external box; plugs directly into the MDR3 with very thin cable.
  17. They have promised this in SUP8.0 as I recall. I'll believe it when I see it.
