  1. Your Avatar looks like it's on crack, no head and running around and all. In fact I think it robbed my hous a few years ago. Can't find that extra post grip I used to have....
  2. There could be light at then end of the 4000 mile long tunnel. I emailed CIT 7/20/07 asking if the 4000 was shipping yet and was told "We will not be shipping the Modulus 4000 until about mid-October". That was cut and paste from an email Phil sent me. So I hope they make good and start shipping, cause $2195 still sounds better than $4k, that is if it works. Brandon "can't wait to transmit affordable wireless video" Thompson Did you get your Modulus 4000 yet?
  3. A friend sent me this. Thought it looked funny: http://gallery.mac.com/lkarman#100021/CIMG...p;bgcolor=black
  4. They make a plastic golf club shipping tube with wheels buiilt in. It is actually triangular, like the tripod cases. Under $100 at Roger Dunn. (They used to carry them, it's been a while since I bought mine) Stand fits in and I think you may be able to fit the wheels around it. You can borrow mine if you really need one. More importantly, you got a job in Paris? How'd you do that? Or maybe you are going for fun and like to travel with your stand?
  5. Jim, you had me at 100. Congrats and see you at 10,000.
  6. Thank you for the inquiries. The unit has been sold.
  7. I've got the same combination on my rig and I can't believe the vibration is coming from the PRO arm. The problem probably lies in the plate under the TB6. I believe Tom Gleason (818-769-9370) has made a beefier or longer adapter plate which captures a few more mounting holes on the TB6. http://www.cinewidgets.com/
  8. 1 Preston FIZ Hand Unit I 1 Microwave FIZ Transmitter II 2 Batteries 1 Charger New cost $6000. Asking $2500 US Here is a photo link: http://gallery.mac.com/lkarman#100008&...black&sel=0 Please email me @ lkarman@earthlink.net for a photo or call me at (310) 351-7016 for info. Thanks, Lawrence
  9. For an LCD monitor mount to PRO arm adapter I went to a machinist and had a little aluminum block made with a 1/4 hole for a bolt to the monitor and a couple of "Fins" that fit over the end of the pro arm mount with a tapped out hole for the bolt. Here's a crude drawing: http://gallery.mac.com/lkarman#100016/IMG_...p;bgcolor=black
  10. No you are not wrong. I believe it was a Pogo Cam.
  11. Wish I didn't have to either. Thanks for the responses. I didn't see Eric's post until just now and that would explain it. No problems today so far.
  12. Had a problem with my Dionic batteries I have not experienced before: 8 month old Dioncs were fresh off the charger. Tried to power up the PV Liteweight on the PRO rig this morning and nothing happened. No power to the camera. The battery displays started flashing on/off. Pulled the breakers and the batteries stopped flashing.I tried 6 batteries and got the same result. I replaced 1 Dionic with 1 Proformer Nicad on the rig, hit the breakers and the camera ran. Went back to the Dionic and no more problems all day.Outside temperature was in the 40s F. What's going on here?
  13. Try and get a Moviecam Compact. It can't cost more than a 535 and flys nicely. The Aaton is a good idea, but it can be a little noisey. Good luck.
  14. Sorry, your Pro to Prston power cable will not work with the Bartech. The power input Lemo is different. Plus the Bartech runs on 12v; different pins in the PRO focus Lemo for the Preston.
  15. Thanks, guys. Don't get me wrong, I like their product. I've had Modulus and Cantrans on the same set and the Modulus performed as good or better than the more expensive and heavier Cantrans. But I've made up cables for the 4000 back in April and I'm still waiting. Whatever manufacturing problems they are having and their track record tells me you can't believe anything they say regarding delivery date. If you need a transmitter now spend the extra $ and get a Cantrans before the $ gets even less valuable. As far as the Mod Quad, I've worked on sets with them and I seem to recall the assistants beig anoyed by the lack of channel buttons and having to rely on the remote for tuning. And they didn't really take advantage of the multiple antenna input and had all antennae in close proximity to each other. We were outside and within 50' of the receiver and reception was lousy. The truth is who has time to set up antennae all over the set, out of frame, before a shot. Or adjust it during the shot. The pace on sets I'm on is so hurried there just isn't the time to use a diversity system properly.

  17. The problem is that those dials are held in place by a little mushroom shaped end on the plastic post which has broken off. They won't stay on if you could even find new ones. And I'm told they no longer make that switch. I had someone remove the old ones and solder new switches to the board below and it completely ruined the modulus. Had to have the board replaced by CIT for a lot more than $300. That price actually sounds reasonable.
  18. I agree. Really nice work going around the performers on that round stage. David Eastwood's work always amazes me.
  19. The funny thing is that Craig is 5'6" tall and Charles is, well you do the math.
  20. Mark, I've got mine powered from the Monitor battery. The Archos has it's own battery which is being recharged off the sled when the monitor breaker is activated, so it's always on (until it's internal clock shuts it down when it's inactive too long)
  21. Here's a picture I took of Erwin's new cart. The case is the same color as before, only a little larger. It just fits all his stuff.
  22. Perhaps some Hytron stickers applied over the Dionc's would do the trick.
