A resistor would need to be changed on the tally input board to change the sensitivity. The resistor was set for the tally sensor from terry west, which was overly sensitive. Have you tried it on a camera? It will take a fair amount of like to trigger, before it was triggering with any stray light.

You can also connect a 9 volt battery to the 2 pin lemo, and check that the tally comes on. Keep in mind that the tally will not show unless you have a video signal.

Open the monitor and flip the connector, this doesnt modify anything. The monitor was wired according to the pinout from pro, one Cinelive I tested was opposite of what Pro had said.

You may need to switch 7 and 8 on the lemo. Or you can take the front of the monitor, and flip the connector over for the tally.

The software update covers all of the monitors, and corrects the PsF. The FullHD upgrade is not related to the PsF. The PsF software is for all Gen2 monitors, old and new.

Cinetronic will be offering an upgrade preorder for the Gen2+ for $1250, for existing Gen2 owners. Also included will be a 1 year warranty extension. We will upgrade the Gen2 to the new screen, go through each monitor, and check everything out, and extend the warranty for another year. Lawrence, the plate does have the dovetail, so it will mount directly to the steadicam, with no other plate needed. The extra threaded holes were added so the plate could have other uses as well.

PsF will be resolved, after some further level work. It will just take some time and money.

Honestly its hard to give people timelines when you cant get them from the engineers who do the work for you. Things take longer than expected, and dont always go as planned. Some problems you just dont find until you have 100+ monitors in the field, since these things never surface in testing. Its kind of like asking a steadicam operator to commit to being able to do any shot in 2 takes. Sometimes you just do not know what is involved until you try it. Development of this monitor has taken 4-5 times the amount of time and money than what was originally planned. Maybe the prudent thing would have been to pull the plug a year ago when it looked like there was no point continuing, but we decided to go forward. Steadicam wasnt built in a day, look at the number of years it took to get to where it is today. Operators are not created in a day either, just look at the amount of mistakes that need to be made, to learn and become a better operator. Yet people expect a new product to function perfectly overnight, never have an issue and for it to please everyone. We have tried to do the best we can with this. I am sure as operators, you wouldnt be too quick to work for a DP who comments after every shot that you could have done better, or some other operator is far better than you. I am sure you would politely pass at the next opportunity to work for this person. Yet it is ok to continually bitch and complain about a company. People fail to realize a company is based on people, and their passion to create a product. If you take away their passion, what incentive do they have anymore? I have over 20 years experience on set, and my partner Mike has over 30 years experience building equipment for the film business. We came together to build a better product for the guys who actually use it. We are very familiar with how things need to work on set, and what the experience is on set, and the kind of pressure that can be there. We have tried to think of everything to make the product better for the end user, but it is hard to cover every scenario. We are committed to making the best product we can, and making everyone happy. Just keep in mind that sometimes it doesnt happen overnight, just as Rome wasnt built in a day.

At this point, the timeframe is never. With all the negativity, and no sales, I cannot see putting any more time or effort or money into this.

One of the NY operators is sending a couple laptops for us to set up for loading the software. He will have these available for people to do upgrades. If you check under devices in windows, under USB, you should see PWflash or something similar when the monitor is connected. If it doesnt show the PW, reboot the computer, with driver signing turned off, enter back into devices, click on the one with the ! and tell it to reinstall the driver, then point it to the driver in the folder with the cinetronic upgrader. One thing that catches people up who try to upgrade with Parallels or VMware is that you need to tell them they have access to the USB ports. When running parallels or vmware, and you plug the monitor into usb, it should ask you whether you want to connect to the MAC os or windows. If it does not, chances are you have not given windows access to the usb ports.

While it says waiting for target reset, turn the monitor off and back on again while holding the menu button down. Also confirm the driver is actually installed. Windows 7/8 like to go through the motions, but not actually install the driver, unless you disable driver signing.

You might also want to check the termination settings on the PDL. You can sometimes get ghosting if the signal is not properly terminated. The termination settings are discussed in the PDL manual.
