  1. 10% discount on monitors now through Sunday evening.
  2. The level is the priority for the week after cinegear. We have the programmer flying in to finish it up and get things going.
  3. A few updates for people going to Cinegear. There will be two Gen2 monitors at Cinegear this year. One will be with Robert Starling at the Angenieux booth, and the other the Sachtler booth. Be sure to stop by and see Robert, and check out the new Angenieux lenses, and how they look on the Gen2. Curt from Sachtler will be showing his monitor bracket which now fits the Gen2 as well. Preston Cinema will be showing the new MDR-3, and will have the new MDR-3 mounting brackets available from Film-Stuff.com We will be showing the new Cinetronic 7" AC monitor at the Stabilizer Gear expo. This monitor has many of the features of the Gen2 steadicm monitor, but geared more toward AC use. Here are some teaser pics. Lead times on all monitors are dropping rapidly, and we hope to have everyones monitor out in the next 2 weeks. In about 2 weeks the monitors will be readily available off the shelf. This applies to the Steadicam Gen2 7" and the AC 7".
  4. Might not be much of a test, since the Cinetronic is the only high bright 7" monitor that is shipping of those 3. (slower than anticipated, but shipping none the less)
  5. Preorders open next week, payment expected immediately, delivery in 6-8 weeks pending delivery of the springs (the last batch didn't boing nicely enough).... assuming no bugs are discovered. :D Hmm, I was going to say your monitor is ready, but since you are prepared to wait..... :P
  6. Trying to see where more interest lies, making the shotballs again, or making the new version similar to the cartoni.
  7. I think we could come up with something. Would 1/10th the cost of the Cartoni work?
  8. Does that mean you are finally buying a monitor and level, or just speaking on Aftons behalf?
  9. If enough people are interested, another run of shotballs can be made.
  10. We have done a lot of testing on the monitor, but the issue came in with the manufacturing process. The first batch of 10 boards worked flawlessly, but the second batch of 20 had a problem with a connector not being properly soldered. This took a little while to find, since everyone said that nothing had changed in the build process between the 2 batches. The problems have been corrected for the new batches. The monitor is designed to be very upgradable in the field. This will allow us to address any issues people have, and send software updates to correct them. Needless to say, we cant fix a bad connector via software.
  11. In response, we are doing everything we can toi get monitors out to people. This means we do not have a pile of spare parts laying around, since we assemble them into monitors and send them out. We try to plan and forcast when the new boards come in, so that we do not run out. We found a manufacturing defect in the first batch of monitors (which is why yours failed). This defect has been corrected, but it delayed the delivery of boards while the issue was being corrected. Every monitor gets tested and burned in for 24 hours, and it worked when it left our shop. This is still a new product, and we are trying to address the issues as they come along. As far as the short responses go, yes they were short, since I often answer from my phone, and you can understand that emailing from a phone is not condusive to long emails. Just as your emails from your phone were rather short to me as well.
  12. Check to see if the Tiffen supports 3G, it most likely does not, so you will be limited to 720.
  13. You can use a standard MK-V bracket, if it is set up for the Pro / XCS style spigot, or you can use the Cinetronic monitor arm.
  14. There are through holes, that will mount the same as the xcs level. The orintation only matters in one axis, the sensing axis is selectable.
  15. The mounting holes are the same as xcs, and pass through. It might be 1/4" thicker.
  16. Pictures of where the level can be mounted on the PRO.
  17. The Betz level would not work with our monitor, since the output signal is analog, and out level is fully digital.
  18. The level can be added at any time. Just plug it in, and turn it on in the menu.
  19. Housings are being made currently, and boards are being made. We have a couple protos done, should have most of the housings done next week.
  20. The holes do not go through the electronics. The holes are on the outside of the electronics, so it can be sealed. The side mounting holes are same as xcs level. We can make adapter plates for different sleds, once people decide where they want to put it.
  21. The 4 holes on the top pass through. The 2 side holes (xcs level spacing) pass through as well. The level can be mounted on the front of the sled, side, bottom, or between the monitor rods. Soon to be available as a built in option on the Sachtler sleds as well.
