  1. Mike has always been great to do business with. Thanks again.

My Teradek products have always worked well and when service was needed the work was done quickly and well.

I've owned 2 of the original Bolt Pro setups with multiple receivers 2 Gen1 Bolt 2k's and 3 Gen2 2k setups. Unfortunately I was told that my Gen1 2k systems could be traded for the Gen2's when they were announced. Then when they released the Gen2 2k I was then told that in fact they were not upgrade eligible.

3-5 years is a good lifecycle for a product like this. Coming out with the 3k now and not having them compatible with our current systems stings. How are your customers supposed to make a return on investment when every 6-18 months you cut the legs out from under the previous model/product? The only real competition teradek has is from another vitec brand?

Advancements are great but if you keep this pace up your new products are destined to fail as the industry can't keep scrapping and flipping to new every 18 months.

Maybe you guys should just come out with a housing that you commit to and offer upgraded boards etc rather then this current model.

  3. I'm 1 of the 2 operators Gregg mentioned that is using an ergo handle on a sachtler gimbal.

When I first put the ergo handle on it'd noticed how much more the axel stuck out from the fork on the gimbal. There was also a teeny tiny bit of play from the bolt holding the axel in place.

I figured it would eventually become an issue and reached out to both Gregg and curt about it.

Gregg was pretty forward about believing it was an issue that could lead to a big problem.

Curt was confident in being able to come up with a solution.

Well sure enough after a few months the bolt bent and I was forced to put the stock handle back on.

Curt asked me to send him the ergo handle and what he did was made a replacement axel for the ergo that perfectly matches the fork on the sachtler gimbal. It's now a simple kit piece that he sends when you change to the ergo or if your buying a rig you can send him an ergo and he'll put it on the rig.

Myself and the other operator who also had an ergo on his sachtler -and who's handle did sheer off I his hands- have been using the ergo with new axel in our sachtler a for over a year without any issues. I've had some very large builds and done lots of vehicle work without an issue since.

So there's a solution that works just contact sachtler and they'll get you squared away.

I'll add that both Gregg and Curt were emediate to respond to all questions and concerns and acted quickly in working this bit of business out.

  5. Had my new bolt 2000 on set yesterday and was really impressed.

System linked up quickly <10 seconds.

Had rx in 3rd floor of an apt building with tx on the street. Going downstairs and onto street system never broke up, no noise or artifacts. It just worked seamlessly.

Didn't get a chance to test the full range for distance. We were also filming under elevated subway line in Williamsburg around Hewes and Broadway- any op in NYC knows this location. At times there was 200-300 yards between tx & rx -with plenty of bodies I between- again no issues or break ups.

Not a scientific test and there wasn't another system there to do a side by side but in a real word application the system preformed perfectly and without any issue of announce.

The size of the system is great for us and the rx is equally at home in a village build or as handheld setup. The design, machining and layout are smart and well done.

Have been a happy bolt pro owner. Now I'm grinning ear to ear with the bolt 2000 but even better so were the DP & Director.
