  1. I've used the box systems a bit (mostly the SD, but also the meridian). The meridian worked flawlessly with the RED. Dir+DP couldn't tell the difference between the Boxx and when it was cabled on sticks Seems like bang for buck!
  2. Feel free to criticise... I do realise it's no where near as stable as it could have been, not enough time to get it into DB (very last minute).
  3. I pulled out the rig for a live cross on Friday night... Close to the top of the (still being built) tallest building in Perth! Shame about the wind (3rd windiest city in the world) Turned out to be a lot of effort for 20 seconds of News...
  4. Hi John, As you look at the plate, the far right pin is negative and the far left is the positive. Hope that helps.
  5. I got 4 160wh batts and a quad charger for AUD$2000 BARGAIN!!! But that was through a friend who is the distributer here. If you are after the ones with the d-tap on the side, the do cost more (but not much, $50/battery). <-from memory...
  6. Another alternative, http://www.nossantech.com/Li-ion%20Batteries.html I've been using the v-mount 160wh batts for 6 months now and use them on th XDCAMs as well as the steadi. Last for ages! (much longer than the swit 130's).
  7. Good news is glidecam are sending me out some new bearings. Hopefully they make it in time for my next shoot on Friday!!!
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6t0nraGwms&feature=youtube_gdata_player At 8.07...
  9. Wasn't in low mode... I sent the arm back a while ago to get the "upgraded bearings" as well and it still pinging them. Anyone got a G-50 they are looking to sell? :P
  10. Lowmode?!? :P Bazinga!! Well. It's a (prepare to cringe/heckle) glidecam v25. I feel like I've replaced every bearing in that f*#%g arm now...
  11. Hi guys, I've got mega problems with my arm... After 2 or 3 shoots, inevitably, I'll pop a bearing in the arm. Most recent was the one in the lower stage near the elbow closest to my body. Last time was next to the socket away from my body. Before that was top stage next to the elbow closest to my body... Surely its not my operating? Only maxed the arm out once, and that was on the last shoot (which is when it popped (right at the start of the day :(). Any thoughts? Thanks
  12. Have you considered The Hocus Focus? http://www.hocusproducts.com/products.php Really well built and has a great motor (moves the RED primes no problem!) Also he's get the HoFoPro coming out with is a completely digital system. Better off asking Peter Hoare about them though.
  13. I use the calender in the iPhone. Works a treat!
  14. Here's some pics from yesterdays shoot (sorry they're links) Rigged up Sled Lens
  15. Hey guys, After an epic day yesterday (10 hours straight rigged up with the RED) found out a music video I operated on (another epic shoot) is finally all cut and online. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lp54FDBDBJg&feature=youtube_gdata_player All the stuff with the lead singer and the actors is on the rig. Enjoy?! =D
  16. When I was first looking at buying my rig I came across them, and it's because of this forum I didn't give Basson a second thought... Now when I see them pop up on this forum from time to time I laugh, but cringe to think at what I would have wasted my money on had it not been for the forum!
  17. Anyone else feel like throwing up after watching that? I still feel dizzy!
  18. Sounds like a dead cell. Has it had lots of cycles?
  19. The Thompson plate is good! Would have got one myself had it not been nearly 4x the price of the sony.
  20. Finally got myself new cases for my rig. Couldnt help but post some pics. The smaller/deeper one is for the vest w/arm inside and the lid has pockets for cables paperwork etc. The longer one has the sled batteries and docking bracket.
