  1. Sorting out new batteries and I'm weighing up between the ugly new Anton Bauer 90's or the slightly more expensive Switronix Hypercores.

Has anyone used the newer ABs on their rigs yet? Wondering about the weight distribution I read someone discussing a while back (and that they were rectifying that?).

Basically, do I save $300 in 4 ABs and charger or spend more on 4 Hypercores and charger...

    Words of wisdom, GO!

  2. My G-zoom mates with the 19-90 Cabrio's onboard handgrip controller with no extra boxes or cables. The handgrip uses the same Fuji standard as ENG lenses. I used it to zoom my own lens on a post produced multicam show for NBC Sports where we wanted the look and depth of cinema glass on a 35mm sensor. I had someone pull my focus but the controller worked for both.

I tried my G-Zoom on a Cabrio the other week and couldn't get full range of the focus. Every time I went through the range on the G-Zoom I only got a limited range on the lens. Did you have any issues like this or did it work for you Mike?

  3. I've been looking into wiring my rig so all my batteries are permanently in parallel, however in speaks B&H with Jack it seems I'll lose the option to supply 24v...

I had a switch on my old setup which I could select either parallel or separate, which I sorely miss!

Has anyone made a mod to their CineLive setup to allow for parallel?

I was thinking of making the mod within the jumper block so it's not a permanent rig mod and I've already bought some schottky diodes ready to wire in under my battery plates also...

    Thanks everyone

  4. Hi All,

Just bought new junction boxes and post cable so my current parts are up for grabs!

Pro upper and lower boxes and XCS yellow post coily cable.

The rig used to be Charles Paperts, and he had the lower box modified by Terry West to allow batteries to be allocated to Cam, Aux and Monitor independently (just unplug the Lemo and put it into the socket you want!), and he also had it modified to allow the whole lower electrics to slide for and aft to help balance.

I'll upload pics when I can as I'm sure I haven't explained it properly!

Make me an offer, willing to split, but would like to sell complete :)

  5. Hey Tuomas,

    RE Modular 51:

I ordered something from them in September last year, haven't heard anything since. Product hasn't and probably won't show up.

    I contacted Babita at Fikenca (makes... well MADE the stuff for Modular 51) and he said;
"Modular51 I think has been out of business since April of last year. That was the last time I heard from them.So no I have not received anything from them. There is lots of people out there who have lost there money with Modular51.

Iam sorry that I can't help the only thing I can do is start a totally new order for you."

Maybe save your money and contact Babita instead.

  6. Last night on the cricket, over the comms, all I heard was the director: "shit, holy shit, everyone alright? Woah... We better get out... Ready 4, take 4. It's all on you Shane..."

Eventally they went back in the truck and I ran around to the OB compound to get this shot for them...

Went for 4 or 5 overs on single camera coverage, and audio weren't allowed back in the truck at all...

PS: Thats a hire car that's totaled, but I nearly parked there...
