  3. I am selling my trusty Steadicam package. It will not have all the cables you might want but it will fly all cameras on the market. I include a downconverter from AJA. So if you feel you want more just ask. My email is on the site under Impressum. I have listed all items below. Note that you will be getting a magliner backstage cart and a homemade fully funtionable Rikshaw with the package including bazookas and an adjustable hardmount. I will split the package as I understand that sending a magliner to the US is like carrying owls to Athens. Also the Rikshaw is pretty heavy and pretty sturdy. 4. Selling a new, never used square to round rod from Jerry Hill on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170468500836&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
  5. Selling my universal cable for Genio Batteries. Might work on Fox but I do not know. http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170468499196&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
  6. If you want to know about material you need to ask Markus Bernhard. I can only say they feel like the ones from ARRI and Chrosziel. I shot a commercial yesterday and made my assistant happy with those rings. Let me make something clear. I´m just a happy customer and not in the business to make or sell those rings. I took many hints out of this forum and sometimes can give some payback. I have no idea what price Markus sells the rings for. I had a couple of things made at his shop and the rings were just one of them. Another hint. I heard rumour that Jim Bartell used different sizes on the handweel. Make sure you have the one I had or specify the correct diameter. Mine is approx. 74,5mm in diameter. If you want to know more ask Markus Bernhard: baer-bel@gmx.net
  7. I was shooting a feature last year using a BFD with a Heden motor on Zeiss new Compact Primes. The assistant disliked the small plastic bands and first cut his own out of some fibreglass compound to make sure they were stiffer and did not slide at all. But even then he was complaining so I gave this issue more thought. I had a Genio FF before the BFD and this device uses hard plastic rings as known from ARRI, Chrosziel and others that can be changed faster than the strips coming with the BFD. I have followed a thread here supplying rings that are cut and so in my eyes will slide and need fastening by the screw in the BFD. So no match here. Today I was checking in at Camtec and after heavy brainwork of the two of us Markus Bernhard made me a couple of rings that 100% match what I have been looking for to make my AC happy. The rings are a bit wider than the stripes and I initially thought they might make the pulling uneasier but that was not the case. They fit on the BFD wihout any modification of the device. You simply use the same screw to secure the ring. This can be seen very nicely on the picture I enclose. One other good thing too, is that regular 19mm tape fits perfectly on the rings. If any of you guys have ideas of mods I would like to know.
  8. I guess it will do the job but you need to train your cameraman on the rig otherwise you produce more damage than do good. I am not so sure if this item will produce good results on stairs since I see no way to tilt up and down with at least some sort of precision. If you plan on shooting handheld and do interviews think about added weight and operator fatigue. As I can see the camera is far from being the choice for your purpose anyway since it lacks professional audio input as well as other features a professional production would require.
  9. I recall the DigiFox is a little more expensive than the BFD. Both units calibrate. Fox does that automaically and the BFD does it manually. It would be good to know if there is any difference precisionwise since the DigiFox uses digital motors. I personally own a BFD with a Heden motor and that rocks, too.
  10. I was using the bebob zoom lever. Had an old one that looked a little different. For zoom it hooks onto the lens either Canon or Fuji. There was an adapter I remember. Drawback is, it only works with built in zoom motors. Still an option. http://www.bebob.de/produkte/?product=8393
  11. Yes, I take the arm off and put it in there with the vest. Fits right in without the foam. Walter made my backpiece very high since I am tall. So I guess others in regular shapes should fit, too.
  12. Selling a brandnew back lens element for the Angenieux 20-120mm zoom lens. The element is new and comes in its aluminum housing like pictured. Asking 250 USD and am open to all offers. Lens is located in Germany and will ship worldwide.
  13. I asked Walter what would be safe and he said leave it in the bag. Guess it would break my heart to have the bag tossed around and saw crazy things happen with baggage during flight. So I bought a Pelicase 1620. The harness fits right in.
  14. ARRI brought out a plate like the Chrosziel. Other look but quite similar in quality. I have two Chrosziel and one I found on ebay. Fast and rock solid.
  15. You should be able to get a used Master for that kind of money. Also a BaerBel should go for that. I guess you must add a follow focus.
  16. Red needs 12 Volts and draws about 80 Watts. Should be possible for a while. I just don´t think the Flyer has enough capacitiy weightwise with just 19lbs payload.
  17. Tilman Buttner shot "Russian Ark". Absolutely right. Sorry for my mistake.
  18. Another 2c Contact Benjamin Treplin. He shot Russian Ark as I remember. Contact Markus Bernhardt. He built a custom very lightweight rig for the film. Still may have it and may even rent it out. Russian Ark had a cut I remember from an interview with Benjamin. Keep in mind that the Red Drive, which you have to use, produces dropped frames very easily. I shot a feature last year and we only used 16GB CF cards because of the production safety. You pan too fast, you run into something, whip pan.... it may produce drop frames. Saying that I must admit I used a first generation Red Drive. Red has done smoething about that issue I heard. You check on Reduser for that. Anyway, good luck. Markus
  19. Dan, I have been looking on your website but could not find detailed info about the audio embedded feature the nano flash offers. Could you please tell me how many channels of audio can be embedded and so recorded onto the card. Thank you. Markus
  20. I know some people fly Artemis here in Germany and they say it compares to all the top line rigs on the market. Reason for them is that the maufacturer is based in Germany and also support is. Good reason I find. Check for Markus Bernhard as well. I fly my second BaerBel sled and he has made numerous improvements on the sled that make it a good choice too. I guess Daniel Stilling will give you further info about it or just call Markus. Try used Masters for a good bang for the buck on used equipment. The Red can be stripped down if the production provides you with the neccessary items. You will need downconversion HD-SDI to composite for most of the monitors. I attached a photo with my Red beeing almost too lite for my Masters arm. It sits on a BaerBel rig by the way.
  21. Let me add a word of a famous french director who once said, that he thinks in the filmbusiness are too many people who just want to to be in the business. His opinion is that you should be in the business because you cannot think about something else you want to do like this. I guess what Eric says is exactly this. You must want to be a Steadicam operator. It´s not about money, technical lists of equipment or insurance rates. It´s about attitude. My 2ct.
  22. I can´t really see the point of your statement. The rigs you mention won´t be able to carry a well equipped videocamera like a DVW700 or HDCAM. What should be the reason to invest into a rig that might need replacement on your first job? Your second point is obvious. A heavy rig has more inertia than a smaller rig. I incourage you to think over your conclusion. You will never hide bad operating no matter what rig or camera. And you will have to improve your expertise on every new rig you fly. Keep in mind that it is a big difference to fly 65lbs. for the whole day instead of a Canon XL1. And you won´t be good right from the start.
