  1. I have seen a couple of Master rigs beeing sold for something around 25000 USD. My first rig was an EFP and I would not consider one anymore. From head to toe the topstage is weak and not accurate. Had an upgrade with a Chrosziel topstage which is very sturdy. Post is made of carbon. My choice would be titan. Gimbal is weak I replaced it with a 3a one already made by GPI at that time. Battery cage is weak. Electronics don´t have 24 Volts. The arm is a 3a with reduced capacity, got that replaced with gold springs and the vest is true horror. Weak front broke and had to be replaced. Having said that you do your math and see that you can buy a good sturdy rig for that investment. Plus the rig will be at least well over 10 years old. Some folks may correct me, it may even be older. Just my 2c. Best Markus
  2. I am selling my Tranvideo Cine IIIa superbright Monitor in new condition. Monitor is located in Germany but I will ship worldwide. Accepting offers. Markus
  3. Selling my Transvideo Titan set consisting of transmitter, receiver, 2 antennas, 2 powercables (4pin XLR), 4pin Hirose for power and video into transmitter. Comes in a rugged little case. I will add 19mm clamp for the transmitter as well. I will ship worldwide. Asking 2.100 USD or make an offer to ravefilm@t-online.de Markus Frankfurt, Germany
  4. I am using an AJA downconverter HD10MD3 with my Steadicam. The signal goes straight from the Red One´s HD-SDI out into the converter and from there via composite signal into my Transvideo Cinemonitor III. I had trouble before when having the converter on the same circuitry as the Red One but then I split the circuits and everything was fine. Was. Now the picture is just black and white. No color. I stepped through every page in the Red, tried 1080p and 720p but always the same result. Do I miss anything? Markus
  5. All that I did before posting. Finally I disconnected the power supplies on the sled. The BB gives you the option to have parallell or separated DC. The problem disappeared but I would actually like to know what brought the dirt into the power circuitry. So I am still trying to figure that out. Anyway guys, a big thank you for your ideas! I will keep you on track if I ever find out.
  6. I have come across some malfunction using an AJA downconverter HD10MD3 into my trusted Transvideo Cine III. The signal comes from the Red One and goes directly into the HD-SDI input of the device. Frome there directly into the sled, internally through the post and comes to the monitor out. When I send the test signal the monitor shows the correct signal. Switching off the test the monitor starts blinking in the lower half of the picture. Above he view is dark and shows the correct frame, in the lower half it blinks about 1-2 times per second showing white and then some distorted, almost black image. The converter has proven to be working correctly using the same camera, same converter fed into a regular composite screen. Now I am thinking about a power problem within the sled and thought someone might have stepped over the same problem since I consider all devices standard industry. Any thoughts appreciated. Pics of the setup can be found under a recent discussion of the BaerBel sled.
  7. last one from the bottom
  8. Made some pix of my second BB rig and the new baby. This setup is almost too light for the Master arm but of course you have to add some items for slomo and shots over 5 minutes, so I will not start to complain :-)
  9. I had a Chrosziel monitor arm on my first Steadicam. The arm let you put the monitor almost everywhere but keep in mind that Ted Churchill designed this arm for CRT monitors. Also I remember the arm was not very stable. Second rig had Baer-Bel´s first arm with two different post lengths. Not very versatile. Now I have BB´s latest monitor mount and find it very sturdy and well worth the price. (Disclaimer: No, I don´t work for Markus :-)) Was not mentioned so far. So I think I just throw in my 2ct. Markus
  10. I have talked to a production nearby and they encountered the plate becoming wobbly after temperature change. The production manager thought this might be due to the material they use to fix the plate. So maybe you just keep this in mind when you mount. Check the baseplate. Markus
  11. As far as I know Markus changed the gimbal on the latest models to be fixed because he had so many issues with ops who had a hard time to adjust it by themselves. I had the first model and after first adjustments never needed to adjust it. Sold it and the new op flies the Rig every day without any problem. I now own a 2" model with a new gimbal. No issues, rock steady, extremely sturdy. Batts won´t slide or move after you fix them with a single screw. I remember that I could feel some vibration in my old rig after I bumped into something. The new post is even more like a truck. Won´t bend or do anything undesired. So I second Daniel´s experience. Gimbal has no streamline design but it definetely rocks. my2ct Markus
  12. Heard some issues about a wobbly baseplate coming with the production pack especially in cold weather. Can you second that?
  13. Markus makes some pretty cool stuff. Lately bough my 2nd rig from him. Daniel: Hope you are doing well! Markus
  14. I am seeking for someone flying a Red One on his sled already. Since the camera does not have analogue outputs I thought the signal must be converted to composite somehow. I talked to a tech today and he told me tht there were severe problems converting the signal through a Aja converter. It only produced a b/w picture and he thought the SDI signal of the camera was not clean. As far as I know the Red has two 1080 outputs. So anyone had the chance to give it a try using an "analogue" signal chain to the monitor? Thanks Markus
  15. Please mail me! And thank you for the effort. Markus ravefilm@t-online.de
  16. You might check with Markus Bernhard in Germany. Sometimes he has good offers on complete rigs. I have bought my second rig off him and find them very well made. Also you might get a rig that can be upgraded while you start practicing and earn money. You also can check with Robert Luna for a used arm or whatever he might be able to offer you. A used rig can be bought under 20.000 Euro. I encourage you not to invest in gear that will be obsolete after short while. Rather wait with aks that you don´t need now. I started with an EFP that I slowly upgraded and it was well in that range. Anyway I wish you luck. Markus
