  1. I'm looking for a docking bracket for 2" post. Can be either Hill (without Gorelock forks, HDB only). Or MK-V 2" docking bracket. Name your price. Thanks, ~Nick Davidoff (310) 567-9668 NicholasDavidoff@hotmail.com
  2. Eric, I'm curious about the levels you are referring to. I couldn't find these specific ones (2 degree and 1/4 degree) on McMaster's website. The closest I found was a 6 degree and 10 degree Tilt Indicator, part # 20035A26. Could you perhaps send a link or part # for the 2 degree and 1/4 degree levels you use? Much appreciated, ~ Nick Davidoff
  3. Thanks for the replies and P.M.'s guys. Lots of useful info.
  4. Sorry guys, I just discovered a couple threads on Mexico City. The outlook is quite grim. But, if anybody would like to add, please do...
  5. I'm up for a commercial job in Mexico City. Does anyone have any experience working there? Shipping equipment, dealing with customs, is it better to ship ahead via Fedex or take as extra cargo on the plane? Any dangers or faux pas' to be aware of? Also wondering about equipment insurance. Does Walter Dolle cover international? How about the kidnapping factor, should I be watching my back? Any advice or experiences you could share would be much appreciated. ~ Nick Davidoff

  9. For all you operators having glare issues with reflective LCD screens, you might want to check out these anti-glare films from Photodon. I have a NEB70HDS (great monitor by the way), but looking at the LCD was like looking into a mirror and this little $5 piece of plastic solved all those problems. For an extra $2 they'll custom cut it to the exact millimeter. It also serves double duty as a great screen protector. http://www.photodon.com/lcdprotect-sheet.htm

  17. I heard of some people who spray Scotch-Guard inside the vest to help "moisture seal" it. Is this something you guys would recommend?
  18. I'm seeking a used PRO gimbal. Either a VZ or an older style. A used XCS gimbal is also an alternative. Thanks for your help. Nick Davidoff (310) 567-9668 NicholasDavidoff@hotmail.com
  19. Gentlemen, I'm an L.A. based operator currently researching equipment options as most of you are. I've been following this thread closely and although I'm impressed with the features of Mr. Sinibaldi's Carrion monitor, I've noticed some issues in the specs that have yet to be addressed. Such as -- On a minor note, aren't rear mounted connectors preferred over top mounted? Maybe you don't have the clearance in this housing to mount on the back, but as far as Steadicam applications the rear housing can probably be extended to accomodate the connectors and wouldn't be an issue regarding performance. Many of us are used to monitors that are over eight inches long. And my main issue is this - Since the very beginning of this thread, our #1 demand in our "dream LCD" seems to be SUNLIGHT VIEWABILITY. "High brightness" is a highly relative and inaccurate term. We're talking a number of 1000 nits and up as Mr. Fletcher has many times re-iterated. An LCD for marine or military applications. The key words here being TRANSFLECTIVE, anti-glare, anti-reflection and optical bonding. Very important requirements in any pro level high brightness monitor intended to be viewed in DIRECT SUNLIGHT. Many of these features are offered in these LCD examples -- http://www.planarembedded.com/products/ope...e/outdoor/lc08/ http://www.planarembedded.com/products/mariner/lx0801pti/ Perhaps LCD screens like these can be integrated into a Steadicam monitor. Forgive me if I'm missing something here, but I don't understand how Mr. Sinibaldi's 350+ cd/m2 is gonna cut it. 1000+ nits. Transflective. Optically bonded. Isn't this what we're all talking about?
