  1. Hi!

I'm interested to buy used glidecam v-16 or v-20.

It should come with LCD monitor and everything that glidecam package #2 contains.

If you are interested to sell your v-16/v-20 email me to toni.tuominen(at)cult.tpu.fi

    Best regards

    Toni Tuominen

W here are you based i may be in the market to sell my v-16 its been well used and a little bit modded comes with panasonic 7 inch lcd post wiring with a slightly shortened post

  2. as Guy Bee, Dave Chameides, Charles Papert, Steve Clancy etc...have shown, there is life after (and during) steadicam.

Jeff Hunt had the opportunity to direct an episode of CSI (Vegas, the original).  He has been A-cam/steadi since day 1 (knowing the typical tv schedule, his kids probably don't recognize him and the UPS guy keeps delivering "packages" to his house).

It's episode #3, season 6 (current season).  His episode is titled "BITE ME" and will air 9pm Oct 6th.  Watch and enjoy one of our own taking the reins of the #1 show for 42 minutes.

Good for him i will keep a beady eye out for it when it reaches us here in the uk , i never knew the transition from a-cam to director was so easy , any word on how it came about

  3. Hi Steve

The first thing that springs to mind is the lighting ! Did you have any control over it ? Thier are some nasty sharp shadows and the running bit seemed way to red!

Secondly for the runnig shots where was the low mode ? big opertunity missed perhaps. And seeing as i'm nit picking the first shot had way to much headroom.

On a positive side, The running was smooth and and erm well shoot the actors and producers and you migh have something.

By the way this doesn't have any bearing on you as an operator but next time it would be nice to see some more of your work.

That production was crying out for MORE steadicam and as an operator i would have pushed for that.

The fist day you were on the set and saw how bad the acting was should have been enough for you to seriously consider you staying ?

    Was it well paid ?

    Kind Regards

    -Matt

Hi Matt , i did push for more steadicam but it came to nought i was primarily hired on the shoot as camera op, and i mentioned to the director that i had got this new fangled steadi thingy  and would he like to use it. the lighting was street lighting there was lighting on set but no time to utilize  lack of low mode due to the fact that i didnt posess a low mode bracket , i know i could have inverted the post to get me lower to the ground but the oppertunity never allowed itself to happen . trust me when i say this is a seriously funny film with an excellent cast and crew some of whom have worked on some big projects ,and i loved every minute of it, i agree with you about the headroom on the first running shot and the other comments regarding lighting etc but the choice of what take/shot to use was the directors so i'll leave that up to him. hopefully the film is headed for cinema release soon !! thanks for your input it was spot on. regards Steve

  4. Well Steve, to be honest it was ...... boring.

Next time try to make the edit a bit more snappy, make some shots with a change in perspective and angle, like going from front to back, up to as low as possible, avoid repeating shots, etc.

And take out a lot of those still shots, they make me fall asleep.

    Keep trying thought!

Thanks for the response Rob , the edit wasnt done by me it was done by the editor of the feature  , the clip is part of the finished film. as it was my first feature i was looking for a critique on just the steadicam part of the clip ,sorry i should have been more specific, the shots were got at the end of a hectic shooting day at around 2am , at the time i felt they were a bit rushed  ,i wondered if that showed? The guy running is on route to house of the guy lying awake . does the shot convey that jouney ?? B)

    all the best Steve

  5. OK, Job: Fun Loving Criminals Music Video in South Beach

Perks: Tons of lovely beauties that only sprout in South Florida

Scene: Recreating the Scarface Hotel room scene where Tony and his buddy get into trouble and his buddy gets cut up by a chainsaw, only in this music video. All the Bad guys are girls in Tiny Bikini's with Super Soakers, in the end....everybody's wet!, hehehehehe

Tell me if the picture doesn't show up. Don't really know how it works here. don't see it in the preview.

    YOU LUCKY *******!!!! :D

  6. Hi all ,i have a glidecam v-20 , can anyone recommend a replacement gimbal that would fit on the 1 1/2 inch post and that will interface with the glidecam "arm" i have looked into the various options available but im none the wiser and would appreciate input from someone who has replaced the gimbal on a v-20 . thanks in advance. Regards Steve

  7. I'm posting this here as I can't on UK Screen .... I can't log in -- I've checked I have the right password, and I have, it lets me know when it's wrong, it just goes to a blank screen when I attempt to log in ... I emailed the admin, but it would appear to me the only way to get "support" would be to pay more than the standard £15 subscription!  I may be wrong, just how I read it, if that's the case, my account is now useless!

Just wondered if anyone else has this problem.

    Thanx

    Jason

might be your internet settings i can see your page no problem although it looks like uk screen have made a few changes recently this may be whats up

  8. Hi Steve!

Just curious, do you have your own rig? If so, what rig and focus system?

Hi David you've asked the question ive been dreading to answer, but here goes

my rig consists of a Glidecam v-16 with a dsr 570wsp and panasonic 7inch lcd monitor as far as follow focus goes -like i said im green , inexperienced , most of my money has gone on the camera. dont think ill of me i am saving like mad to own a "proper rig". with all the bells and whistles but most of my work is news and sport related at the moment so not much call for steadicam work other than the odd (work for experience ) independant feature or short. i purchased the glidecam because at the time it was the cheapest route i had into seeing if i liked steadicam operating or not -- verdict I DO!! so i hope i wont get shot down in flames and hope to meet some of you in the future at a training course ..

    regards Steve

  9. Congratulations on your first credit!

    (ok maybe not killed)

Doing my part to prevent war.

Cheers David, thanks for your congratulations much appreciated .
