  6. Hi thomas, My understanding is if the operator want it to be flat horizon, then the result should be flat horizon. If operator want it slight loss of horizons, then end result should be slight loss of horizons. For beginer, most likely the operator will want to get flat horizons, but the end result video footage is not flat horizons. What you said is one step further once reach the control of rig at will. ;-) Regards Leigh
  7. Just click the blue word "KinoKamera" in his post and you will be directed to his website. Regards Leigh
  8. Hi George, What is your steadicam set-up? steadicam ultra? Have you been to the workshop everyone suggested? I just watched first several seconds of your demo reel STEADIHIGH.MOV and I feel the video not horizontal and I think that you put too much force on holding the post. Regards Leigh
  9. Hi Andy, Have you tried Steadicam Flyer? I heard that Steadicam flyer reach to around 80% performance of Steadicam Ultra IIRC. Regards Leigh

  11. Hi Andy, May I ask how many hours in total you have been practising the steadicam? Just curious. Regards Leigh
  12. Hi J, I manufacture stablizer, so my view is biased. Of course my own one is best :P. Anyway I have no interest to get into US$65,000+ stablizer business, so relax guys, don't worry about my small business adventure. :D Regards Leigh
  13. Hi J, I am interested to know how you do research and compare. Do you compare the demo video on the manufacture website? Or you visit the shop in person and experience the rig? TIA Leigh
  14. Hi J. Here is a video demo by Charles King. Click here It seems that you are very easy to be persuaded to pocket out around US$6,000. :D Someone will tell you that you need a workshop first which will cost around US$3,000. :P I am an engineer and my camera skill has not gotten to the level even thinking about the workshop. :( Regards Leigh

  21. Hello everyone, Here is an exercise video I shot today using panasonic gs400. gs400 weighs less than 1 kg. -------------------------------------- divx format(MPEG4) You may need to download decoder from www.divx.com file size around 16mb -------------------------------------- wmv format file size around 18mb I hope you'll check out this video and offer some constructive criticism. I look forward to your comments. Regards Leigh
  22. Sorry little off topic and just to satisfy my curiosity. May I ask why spring need to be gold? What is the reason? Is whole spring gold? Or just paint gold? I thought that spring made of titanium will be lighter and more durable. Is that gold just for decorative? TIA Leigh
  23. Not sure mate, I would have to pay import tax in the uk if i ordered from the states i belive ? PS what did you shoot your video on your site with ? I know you are trying to show of ya skills but i'm affaid i nearly fell asleep watching that video on your site. I will leave it to others to tell you what you are doing wrong if anybody else dare sit through it. Keep it going but lets see some action please! Your compersition isnt to bad but think about what your filming and make it interesting. I know some people like to see lots of dancing girls :) Sorry to be harsh but feeback is what you want right ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi Matt, Camera stuff imported from overseas won't attract import tax in New Zealand. That is the beauty living in New Zealand. :D I do stablizer as a business, the camera I bought is for business, so I get tax refund as GST, in UK I assume is VAT etc. I think UK got similar rule. As NZ copy everything from UK I assume. The camera sold in NZ is about twice as dear as sold in USA/Japan. I shot with my diy stablizer on a JVC GY-DV5000 camera with Fujinon s20x6.4brm-sd lense. I just first touch video camera last Apr and I wish I can spent rest my life in video business. So I am quite relaxed about camera skill improvement and I am not in a hurry. Just run slowly. :P Regards Leigh
  24. Hi Michael, Can you tell me something more about yourself? Have you got any sorts of training before Magicam? Have you used any sorts of stablizer before Magicam? If not, I am surprised that you just practise for one or two hours and go to the real shooting. I look forward to your demo video. Regards Leigh
