  1. I was thinking it would be possible to make the centre post telescopic, using a tube with the same ID as the current tube OD. Wouldn't be quite as neat, but its the only way I can think of doing it. Would also like to totally re-engineer the lower spar, but the J box up top looks pretty useful. How did you find chasing cables up and down the post? Pete.
  2. Haha, dont quite trust the IDX plate there then Ed?
  3. ha, no he was just in the area. I recently put a reasonable order in for cable assemblies, loose ends and tools so it was just a courtesy call. In fact when they add worthing to Google Streetview, you should be able to see me through the window in the Lemo office. I was right by a window when the car came round :-D
  4. Lower minimum dosn't bother me, I order bags and bags of those things. I had a home visit from a Lemo rep the other day, do you get that!?! :P ...And I had a personal tour of the factory.
  5. Just for reference, the min order is £50, and I usually deal with Mel who has her head screwed on. Phones back when she says she will etc.
  6. I took the 2pin lemo out and changed it for a 3pin so I could use the RED power cable and other 3pin power accessories. Might work on paralleling in the second battery plate, should be pretty easy. I also would like to change the small knurled knob on the bottom of the stage to lock the fore/aft for a lift off style kipp lock, similar to the one on the LE. I still don't know what thread it is so have not got round to this yet. I would also like to put a ratchety system on the vest...
  7. With the plate and lemo connector, anodised with knbos and laser marking (all the trimings) Probably around 100-120GBP?
  8. MmMm that will be tight if it has to be anodised aswell. Im waiting for Ed to come over so we can try it out, see if anything needs changing. I think mid June is pushing it but we can try.... Pete.
  9. GOOD NEWS :-D A quater turn on each of the wing knobs, and it grips extremely tightly. Have yet to put the lemo power plug in the back, and anodise it, but will soon. Not bad, eh? :-D
  10. Actually, this isnt lower grade, its just a type of aluminium that dosnt anodise very well... It was an offcut so dosn't matter haha
  11. Tadaa. The clamps arn't bolted down yet...
  12. All of this is in the instruction manual of course.
  13. It will ahve an IDX Vlock plate like the one in that photo, but it will be on an aluminum chassis with a clamp to mount it to the battery mount rods on the Archer.
  14. Hi, Just been at the machine shop, Dave was just cutting out the clamps. Its a slow process, but they are cutting right now, as I type and will be done in a few hours. Also Ed took this photo, because its pretty cool. Machining an F1 wheel hub from solid. http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-sn...9_2171824_n.jpg"]F1 hub on 5axis machine://http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...n 5axis machine Also this is my 19-15mm dogleg adapter clamp, which is also for sale if anyone wants one. If you buy one, it comes with a nicer screw! Im sure Ed will fill you in on how tightly this clamps the rods, i'm pretty proud of it, especially since I designed it in the pub.
  15. So are you saying the camera dosn't have a normal composite output? I suspect I will probably be flying one of these at some point, so the HDMI only thing would be a bit of a problem. Are there any on board down converters that would work for the 5D rig? Pete.
  16. This is quite interesting, does this mean that as the pot is limited to 10 turns, the motor is also limited to 10 turns?
  17. You would think if all he was doing was the segway he probably wouldn't have followed him up onto the stage after the transition...
  18. I suspect it will probably be a microwave uncle benns express pilau rice or something, its on special offer.
  19. Ok, Got a tradeshow to get to sometime this week aswell. Let me know once you can confirm....
  20. Hi Ed, How about you use the new battery to power the monitor and any other accessories you have down the bottom. This will take some load off the main battery. Failing that, it wont be too hard to parallel them together. Let me know when you want to come down. Tomorrow is a good day for me, or Wedneaday. Pete.
  21. Hi Matteo, The new clamp design would be solid. The unlocked bar has some moving space to compensate for bent bars. The height of the channel is the same as the rod so it would not rotate. The other channel is very tightly fitted to the rod and the clamp will hold it still. Im confident the single rod clamping design would be more than enough and would allow for bent rods.....
  22. By the way, yellow replacment bars are also available. As are pink, blue and candy cane colour schemes.
  23. Ok, my trackpad finer now has no fingerprint left. Came up with a solution to fix for wonky rods and also make it a bit more original.
  24. Yeah im having trouble thinking of a better system. Other than some stupidly complicated instant snap on springy arri follow focus type device....
