  1. I used these sandcrawlers on my backstage rickshaw, which i have since sold. They have only been used twice. This listing includes (4) 20" sandcrawler tires with (4) axles. To see pictures, please visit the following link. The sandcrawlers are in the last photo: https://picasaweb.google.com/108604655846609704016/BackstageShotsaverDolly?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCJOo37iBiLatKQ&feat=directlink Cost new from backstage is $1050. I'm looking for $600 OBO. They are located in Los Angeles, CA. For shipping, they can be deflated and shipped anywhere at buyer's expense. Thanks!
  2. I got this call too. I actually decided to say I'd work for free because the opportunity to work on a music video for an unknown production company, with an unknown dp, "sometime in the next month," was too good of a job to pass up.
  3. For sale is my Backstage Shotsaver Dolly that I purchased in March 2012. Disassembled, all of the pieces lay flat, and can fit into small spaces, or a large pelican case. The garfield mount, which is not included, clamps onto the front 2" post, just below the chest pad. Also, the chassis is capable of widening for more stability when used at higher speeds. Included in this sale are the following: - Backstage Shotsaver Dolly w/ post and chest pad, and leather seat - (2) 20" wheels - (2) 16" wheels - (2) 8" steerable, double wheels - (4) 20" balloon tires for dirt/sand - walk-off platform w/ backrest For pictures, please see here: https://picasaweb.go...eat=directlink All in I paid $5,034. For everything I'd like $3,500. If you're not interested in the sandcrawlers, i'll take off $600 from the price. It is located in Los Angeles, CA. Local pickup is preferred, but if necessary to ship, it can be arranged and will probably cost a couple hundred dollars. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
  4. I have a barely used Fast Forward Video ProRes recorder that I'd like to sell (http://www.ffv.com/p...on/sidekick-hd/). It's in mint condition, and has barely been used. I purchased it as a recorder for my PRO sled, but ultimately had to use the space where I mounted it for my HD transmitter, so I never use it. The screen and polycarbonate shell are in perfect condition. The Sidekick HD has two HDSDI ports in and out, as well as two HDMI ports in and out, so it functions as an HDSDI - HDMI cross converter. It records ProRes 4:2:2, with optional upgrade to HQ if needed. Here's a link to the photo album: https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink Included in this listing are the following: - FFV Sdiekick HD recorder - 128GB SSD - USB SSD reader cable (not pictured) - AC adapter - (2) mini HDMI to HDMI cables - (2) custom PRO 4 pin lemo to mini XLR power cables Retail for this recorder is $2358 (http://www.adorama.com/FFVSKHDPDR.html) I am looking for $1150 OBO, with free shipping within the continental US. I accept PayPal, or cash/money order/cashiers check if done in person. Item is located in Los Angeles, CA. Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions!
  5. I just want to say that i experienced incredible customer service from Chris at Cinetronic today. The monitor is beautiful, and having great support is equally important. This further reaffirms my decision to invest with this company, and really can't wait for the upgrades. Thanks Chris!
  6. I had this issue a while ago with my pro sled. After weeks of troubleshooting, it turned out to be the diving board attached to the top stage that held the preston mdr. Where do you mount your motor driver for your wireless focus? I fixed it by upgrading the diving board with a new beefier one. Also be aware of swing away matteboxs vs clip ons (clipons are better). Also be aware of how far the camera and aks are away from the gimbal. The longer the distance, the more flex there can be.
  7. One last thing I forgot to mention, there was serious lag from when the handunit was turned, and the motor would respond. Could have just been my unit, but to me that would be a deal-breaker.
  8. Just used an RT motion out of necessity when my Preston 3 was in for repair. The build quality feels half that of the preston, which makes sense given the price. Tension was way too loose on the handunit, which may be adjustable, but not sure. Distance was mediocre, couldnt make it through a wall while focus puller was at monitor, which the preston, in my experience, would have had no issue. Motor strength wasn't tested exclusively, as we were on Optimo 16-42 and 30-80, which have light tension focus throws. But again, the build quality was OK, motors seemed dinky. I would not be confident it could push a cold or stiff lens, which I've dealt with quite a few of, especially if the lenses are older. Definitely test before you buy, but given the cost, it seems like a decent alternative to a preston if you can't afford it. Personally, I'd go with a 2 channel Bartech w/ iris, and M-One motors over this system. Customer service with Jim Bartell is fanstastic, handunit is very solid (made of metal, aluminum i think), and M-One motors are very strong.
  9. I've got a PRO monitor mount i'd like to sell. It includes the following items with retail prices next to it: - PRO monitor arm: $142 - 3" monitor externsion: $265 - Post clamp for PRO 1.5" post $420 Total MSRP: $827 You can find pictures here. It's in perfect shape. Picasa album: PRO monitor mount pics Price is $425 OBO. I'm located in LA, but am happy to ship at buyer's expense. I accept paypal, certified checks, and cash. Thanks, and let me know if you have any questions. Alex
  10. Ok that's good to know. I just don't want to give my cinetronic any more reason to act up on me...
  11. Too many to list them all. But one sticks out particularly well in my mind. I was on a feature in New York flying a Panavision GII, which is quite a beast. I had 4 black canisters turned up 1/4-1/2 way. On a Friday morning while balancing, on the VZ gimbal grip, I stupidly tightened the screw too much on the clamp BEFORE closing the clamp that locks the gimbal onto the post. When I went to close the clamp and forced it closed, the clamp snapped off and therefore made me incapable of locking the VZ gimbal to the post. With the help of grips I was able to finish out the day using some grip gear to keep the gimbal and grip in place. I called PRO, told them the problem, and they shipped me the new part from LA to NY, overnight for early Saturday morning delivery, with no charge whatsoever. And Jack spent an hour on the phone with me Saturday night walking me through the repair. No business has ever done something like that for me before.
  12. Are you using these cables just for tethering, or for all the connections on your sled? Reason I ask is I was talking to Jack at PRO about these great new superthin bnc cables I bought from Markertek, and how super excited I was to use them and clear a lot of clutter from my sled. And typical of Jack, always raining on my parade, he responds that I wasted my money and I should stick with my canare cables. He said even though they're 75 ohm, there's not enough shielding on the spaghetti cables to block out interference. Have you or Andrew had any issues?
  13. I always request a rod mounted hot swap dual battery plate for counter balance on the back. Put two Dionic HC's and the weight and counterbalance works well. Also means you don't have to run the camera from your sled, which is nice.
  14. Buy a Bartech. Customer service is just as important as a great product, and Jim has both.
  15. My favorite part about this listing is how 2 of the 3 photos are exactly the same, except in one she smiles, the other she doesn't. Showing the product doesn't seem too important to her, though she seems like a pleasant girl..
  16. If only this was listed a year ago... If you're parting anything out, I'd like to know too!
  17. I'm selling my Jerry Hill vehicle mount. Comes with female socket block and U-bolts (for attachment to speedrail). For photos, please see the following link: Hill Mount Photos It's located in Los Angeles, CA. Local pickup or shipping (at buyer's expense) are both fine. Asking $650 OBO. PM me with your offers and questions. Thanks! Alex
  18. I've got a PRO II sled and am looking to rent a 2 gyro kit for a week long rental starting Sunday (3/25). I'd like the ability to clamp one to the post, and one to the anton bauer plate directly below the post. If anyone has a ready to go kit (KS6 gyros ideally, inverter, cables, bracketry, mounts, etc.), or knows of someone who does, please let me know as soon as possible. Thanks! Alex
  19. I've done the exact same thing Will, tried new batteries, cables, bnc connectors, etc. I've had this flickering problem in HD with the Red MX as long as I've had the cinetronic, which I received in August '11. The power cycling does not work with the MX, so I need to go SD anytime I use that camera. The flickering occurs with the Epic and Alexa, but based on the advice of Eric Fletcher on how to power cycle the monitor, this seems to always solve the issue. Chris has been great in trying to help me by switching out many of the monitor components with new ones, but the issue still persists. I'm just hoping the new housing and software solve the issue when they come out.. When functioning properly, it's a fantastic monitor.
