  1. This is a beautifully tidy rig. It maybe SD but since there is some great HD links on the market why spend all your dollars on a new sled when you can purchase a great rig for half the price and spend the cash on the bits that will give you a full kit. Four stage post with a remote tilt style topstage. No money needed to spend on the rig as its been fully serviced by a Tiffen accredited company. 4. Here's a Cart being made in Australia by www.Rastorder.com.au, Rob Stalder is a working Sound Recordist who has been making his carts for Soundo's now for some time. His G2 cart for Steadicam's is pretty cool design, built to protect the sled. I have attached a photo of an operator here with his sled fixed to the cart. As you can see there's plenty of room to store your peli or storm cases, attach your rig which lives within the rig for safety on set for that person who isn't watching where there going. Also has a safe glovebox, slide draws deep enough for prestons, arms or whatever you would like shelve. Anyway just another thought on the great cart debate. best damien

    Spintex

hello Everyone, Just a quick question, I am in the next couple of weeks doing a shot where the DP wants to mount a Spintex to the rig. As i have never been in the position or seen one mounted on a rig before was wondering if this would give issues to balance or any other unforeseen problems??? I am operating with a Ultra 1 Steadicam rig. Thanks for your time in advance and look forward to the incoming knowledge. regards, Damien P.s i would be lost without this site, thanks to all who have contributed and given out knowledge as it is seriously greatly appreciated. (Newbie)
  7. Hi Everyone, I have only been operating(Steadicam) for a year or so now and i find the Solomon shoe the best, used it on the Amazing Race Series here in Asia. I then loved wearing them so much i use them now whilst operating the steadicam. http://www.salomon.com/footwear/footwear/trail-running the ones your looking for are the XD Pro 3D Ultra, there is also a full gortex version GTX model for those out in the rain, but i find these sweat a bit. Anyway good times everyone regards, Damien
  8. Hi Peter, I also use the G-Zoom, after seeing Jason's unit and then purchasing one for my kit i was very impressed with the G-Zoom, Erik's service and prompt reply to emails. Now I have had mine for over a year and its worked on a variety of live TV shows, generally it would be great i suppose to have a focus puller but that in this climate with some of the TV work is a mere luxury. But for all purposes the unit is superb, light, functional and the focus is always firm not light on the touch which is handy when you have other things to work around. So in the end i give this unit, now with some new upgrades, for the price a massive BIG thumbs up. Now the other units out there are more expensive and for the one u usually use its probably 8 times more expensive than this very unit. I am also plugging straight into the lens as well which is simple and easy. Well my 2 cents. Oh by the way you can never buy enough gear!!!!! regards, Damien Steadicam Owner Operator Australia
