  1. I have been seeing the ads for the show over the last few days. Looks like its going to be funny! Congrats Charles!!
  2. I've not flown it yet and I love it already. :) I have the F3 and rails mounted and balanced on the sled. Looking for the best mounting option for the PIX240 now to get it fully ready for business. Going to play around with it this Sunday on a web series shoot. No doubt there will be more happiness to follow.
  3. My Zephyr arrived today. I am fighting the urge to put it all together RIGHT NOW. :)
  4. I can give you some insight on what Fuji is doing. My day job is as an engineer for a biotech company here in North Carolina. We were owned by Merck but Fuji bought us along with some other pharma companies and started a pharma division. They want us to be a multi billion dollar contributor to the bottom line within 5 years. Currently we are less than $500mil/yr. Its going to be interesting to see that happen. They also purchased a company that makes most of the ink you use in your inkjet printers. Their bigest customer is HP so that HP cartridge is filled with Fuji ink. Go figure. Anyway, they are fully aware that film is going extinct. They are bringing in more baskets to spread their eggs around. I doubt there will be many eggs left in the film basket in 5 years.
  5. I've been on the same quest for the last few months. I've seen only one used and it sold the same day it was listed. Oh well, B&H to the rescue. It will be delivered on Friday.
  6. I have one of the Asus WiCast units to go on my Pilot. I'm willing to help if I can with the range test or whatever. I can tell you already that the latency is VERY low. I ran around at NAB last month with Rich Grebs blackbird stabilizer with the asus transmitter on it. I could go several rows over from his booth with very few dropouts. My guess was at least 100' before it got unusable. Less than $200 for the set. Not inclulding power that is.
  7. Perfect Erik, That will do it! Chris
  8. Hi Chris, If your kit is complete, you should have a power cable in the kit with the 2.1mm power connector attached. Just buy yourself a female xlr4 connector and attach it to the cable.. Best, Erik Thanks Erik, I bought the kit new but it didn't come with a power cable for the top stage. It only came with a video cable. I've had it several years now but have always used it with an EX1 and haven't powered the camera from the sled. I was looking for a cable already made if possible. I will put one together if there is no reasonable source for one.
  9. I have a Sony F3 and am looking to use it on my Pilot with a lightweight SLR lens. What I'm looking for is a power cable to go from the 2.1mm power connector on the top sled to the XLR input on the F3. Anyone know a source for a cable? I have the VLB version of the Pilot.
  10. I know this is a consumer product but I'm rigging an Asus WiCast transmitter for HD off camera monitoring. It requires a HDMI connection instead of SDI but it does have reasonable range and very low latency. We did a test of the setup at the Blackbird stabilizer booth at NAB and the range was a lot more than I expected. It was at least 200'. The price is right too. I picked up 2 sets for less than $400. I'm assembling the power cable with the 5v regulator now. I hope when its done I'll be just under the weigh limit of the Pilot with the F3 and the transmitter on board.
  11. Great job guys, I enjoyed catching glimpses of the ops here and there. Anyone know if the guy holding a rig on the sideline was OK after getting rolled by a player during the game?
