  1. Update on the Gimbal, I have just received it back from a full service at a precision engineering workshop.

It has been fully cleaned out and the pan bearing is now much smoother. Like new.

I have not replaced the pan bearing as I am still unable to find them locally. But to be honest it will fly great now.

    Price remains the same.

    $1200 ono + shipping.

  2. Yes you need a down converter to get composite.

Also depending on your lens package you may not need a weight plate.

The camera is light, but throw some ultra's on there, R5 recorder, Vlock battery, FIZ, Mattebox.. it'll get heavy quick.

  3. Im trying to replace the bearings in my 3a gimbal as well. That part number above has not helped me. I've been asked by the supplier what size the bearing is, does anyone know? it obviously has a larger inside diameter than 1.5"..

I am currently busy on a job and dont have time to pull my gimbal apart otherwise i'd just take it in to the bearing supplier.

    Cheers

  4. Just spent 2 nights using the Bolt on a Horror Film, my results were very mixed. Night 1 I did a long tracking shot down the driveway, into the house and through out to the back deck. With correct placement of the RX (and running a line back to VideoVillage), we had signal the whole way through. Probably going a max of 30-40 feet and through thin house walls.

Night 2 I was working in a much closer area to the RX. We started with the RX 12ft behind me but as soon as someone (boom swinger) walked between myself & the RX we lost picture. We ended up finding a better spot for the RX to the left side of me (6 ft away) and things were solid.

The sound department did complain about the RX's Fan however once we had relocated the RX to be hidden in the set very close to the actors.

All in all I liked the unit. However the performance just isn't there yet & I wont be buying one until it is. This was a loan unit from my usual dealer. Also I really wish the RX had some external Antenna's, but I know thats all to do with the PCB...

  5. Interesting to see the change over to the 2B connector for camera power. I wonder if this, along with some more chunky wiring internally is the way the film sleds from PRO are all heading...?

I am interested in this question as well.. I am currently in the market for center post, electronics & battery base. I was set on ProHD until this came out..

Any idea when pro will announce pricing? CineGear?
