  1. Just bought one of the Rainbows for my backup steadicam and main- A cam on board monitor. I love that thing... 900 nits still really damn bright( its not all nits). Used it on A cam in full California sun with no hood no problem.

On Alec's note, I don't like there bigger monitors (although they are brighter)for the wasted screen space to me. Rainbow is great size - 7" and small form factor. Very pleased.

  2. PRO Vest for sale in overall very good condition. Some wear some light scratches and scuffing. Asking $ 4,200.00 USD plus shipping

I am 6' 2" 235 lbs. So pads are sized to fit me. I have a line on a used smaller set of pads (for additional charge) or you may want to order new waist pad from PRO to have custom fit.

Serious inquiries only please. Contact me via e mail : chardrwd@aol.com

  3. Jens that makes sense. I figured they are about the same from memory.

    Richard,

what was not as powerful? the communication? Does the MDR dictate speed and torque other than the 3 setting? With my motors, there is no noticable change in the movement of the motor when the setting move from green to blue to red on the MDR. is that normal with the M26VE?

    Thanks,

    Aaron

I was told torque and speed especially for Large heavy Primes.... Again second hand but may shine a light..

  4. My impressions of the Steadicar were all very positive. The ability to change position , on the fly, if you will was terrific. The stability was impressive; we were doing hills on the loop at the old LA zoo and when we would turn around and be what I would think as very out of balance it held its position and it never felt tippy. Because of it having an arm it doesn't have a soft suspension so your arm needs to handle all the potholes and bumps in your shot, but thats what it is there for... I would not hesitate to use it again. My kudos to Bernard and the steadicar.

  5. I am upgrading to a Preston HU3 and want to get a new custom case which will hold it and F/I box and ALL the goodies. Anyone have a great design they want to show off or recommend their favorite LA based case manufacturer that does perfect laser cutouts???? Prefer Pelican or Storm cases but open to all ideas. Wow me please!!!! Pictures???

  6. It is an original Transvideo steadicam monitor mount for a Cinemonitor III . The original one without a level or battery mount. They were notoriously a little tight to fit the PRO spuds. But could be forced to fit. I still have two of them.

  7. I have a Boxx and a Teradeck Bolt both… The Boxx is the rock star, but at a rock star price. It is a set it up and mostly not have to worry about it. The Bolt has to be moved around or adjusted depending on obstructions, distance etc.

As far as heat goes… The BOXX does not get very hot on the outside. The Teradeck gets very hot, you cannot really velcro it on anywhere as the velcro glue usually melts.

    My .02 cents

  8. In my experience with Chris and the Cinetronics, both gen 1 and 2, I have found Chris to be honorable in all my dealings and honestly up front as well. When I paid my deposit on the gen 2 the website said that it was still in development but that you shouldn't pay if you were in a hurry and expected it by such and such a date. I paid my deposit anyway because I believed in his product. Only NEBTEk and Transvideo had done anything for steadicam ops and I feel the steadicam LCD manufacturers had stagnated. Chris got the ball rolling and gave us another option. A VERY GOOD THING FOR STEADICAM. Did it take longer than expected yes, are there some hurdles to still be addressed, yes. I am comforted however by the fact that he constantly addresses the issues head on and makes corrections in software, firmware and the heat sink for example.

Wishing nothing but the best for the entire steadicam community.

my .02 cents.. Full disclosure: I have absolutely zero affiliation to Cinetronic other than being a customer.

PS Ron, silly wabbit, you're never leaving that TB-6... and that's ok too... they are awesome monitors... I just hate downconverters, they have burned me in the past.
