  1. Very nice inventation.., the sad thing is that it is to soon for me (to short notice !) to come overthere. It is nice to see a fellow dutch Operator like Chris is presenting his important presentation ! Erik
  2. Congrats Mikko..., damn a Archer .. that means that mostly spoken arm.. G50 right ? Have many nice and safe flights ! Best, Erik
  3. Welcome Srtred..., 2 things : 1. We use our real name overhere, so please change your current ID.. 2. The file is not vissable.. Best, Erik
  4. Charles, Have to say... interesting video ! After what you descibed what happened that day, the results are great ! Little bit scary girl but nice moves in such little room.. Erik
  5. Hi Guys, Do any of you know a rental facility near Orlando Florida ? It is possible I have a shoot overthere and maybe it is cheaper to rent a Rig on location instead of shipping mine Rig to the US.. Best, Erik
  6. I think it will work for the Sony HDV cam's.. when you use ac power to powerup your camera, is this then some sort plate which connects at the battery mount on the camera ? And is the connector on this plate then a 12volt consumer connector ?.. If yes, then it should be possible to use the described model of 20W of power for HDV camera's.. Just my thought, Erik
  7. Stefan, One for sale on the steadicam-ops.com site : http://www.steadicam-ops.com/database/soaC...hp?recordID=803 best, Erik
  8. No problem at all Gregg.. consider myself still as a newbie, everyone can still learn from eachother. But like Eric (i think) already mentioned, you are also welcome to visit Steadiforum which is also like this forum a lovely place to visit, read.. read more and ask some question to pro's, less pro's.. newbies and what so ever ! Bye, Erik
  9. Arve, One more found on SOA site : http://www.steadicam-ops.com/database/soaC...hp?recordID=800 http://www.hiresteadicam.co.uk/ Best, Erik
  10. Hi Arve, In poland there still seems to be a EFP for sale.. http://www.steadipixels.com/ Best, Erik
  11. Matt, If you need the V25 right away.. maybe you can rent the Rig from John for example ? Otherwise, there are several dealers in Europe which received a Rig some weeks ago, like in Germany, France.. Maybe they can offer you a ex demo Rig ? Best, Erik
  12. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Unusably heavy, that's funny. On the pilot I'm doing my all up weight (Sled, arm, Vest) is 90lbs. Pretty much the entire pilot is steadicam and I am in it (No docking) for up to an hour at a time Paul, What is your current Gimbal placement on the post ? Seems like the Gimbal is way down and that can be the reason you need a lot of weight at the bottom of the sled.. ?! Best, Erik
  13. @ Michael Jones & Paul who has started the topic.. I would just say.. have a blast, welcome to the Steadicam World. Don't worry about the equipment you will or just bought. In mine opion Glidecam (V25 and Gold) will do the job the same as any Tiffen Steadicam.. I was today on a second day shoot for a travel company here in the Netherlands. It was not Steadicam related but just many 'stand ups' of several talents which promoted the Travel World and doing there best to sell more vacanties the coming months. They stand directly at front a Tripod with a Sony 530 XDCAM with Pro 35 on it. I was present as main Audio Engineer and also as Lighting and Camera assistent. On a break we were talking about Steadicam. Mentioned i have a Flyer which works fine for me. I also mentioned the Glidecam, specially the Gold.. which is in mine opion a very decent Rig ! On that point the Main Lightning person who's has done many many Features including 35mm work did also some kind of Glidecam Bashing. It did not suck in his opion.. but hey.. a REAL Steadicam Operator only operates a Steadicam and NOT other brands.. On that moment.. the discusion came to a immed stop.. I wonder WHY ??? ;) Best and fly save Erik
  14. Just found on ebay.co.uk a used V8.. Nice package, only is the arm of the smooth shooter better. But the Sled of the V8 is better then the 2000 or 4000 Check : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Glidecam-V8-SteadyCa...1QQcmdZViewItem Erik
  15. Stephen.. what do you mean by moan ?? Nice news item btw.. Best, Erik
  16. Nope.. and if they are somewhere outthere.., they all will sell for 1499 dollars + the price of the 2000 or 4000 sled Best, Erik
  17. Leigh, On several forums which handle Steadicam and related products you have posted over hunderds or even thousends of messages. Several people have responded nicely to you to give all kinds of information concerning Steadicam. People like Charles Papert , Mikko Wilson, Terry Thompson and many others explained how you operate in the demo's, what should be done to improve your operating etc etc. But over the last 2 years.. it looks like you did not learn very much of all information that has been given. Maybe a Steadicam or Glidecam Workshop is for you the place to go. Then you can discuss the operating with the teachers present ? Maybe they can convince you what should be improved etc.. ?! Just my 2 cents.. Best, Erik
  18. Hi Lucas, For the price that the Rig is sold new.. it is hard to find a secondhand one. Try Ebay or just one of the Glidecam Dealers in the UK like http://www.creativevideo.co.uk Erik
  19. And don't forget.., the Flyer is also available in a nice 24 volts, HD monitor package ! Best, Erik
  20. Just saw (probably a rerun) BIG in 2005 on VH1. Very nice operating done overthere.., several shots looks like a dolly track untill the 180 turn starts a couple of times with great zoom controle ! unbelieveable !.. Erik
  21. Hi Doublebo7, (what's your real name?) I don't know Machiel from Holland, do you have a fullname ? It is to bad the situation how to operate, no assisent etc.. Erik
  22. Matt... the BEEB ??? What the hell is that ? Indeed interesting, but hey.. wide angle shots and also take a good look at the total broadcast quality. It is not that really good, F1 looks a lot better. In some several broadcast magazines the last months.. the A1 Grand Prix is some subject of discussion. Some things like onboard camera's technics etc etc.. In those articles they speak about 'high quality technics, better then F1'.. Sofar the overall quality is so so.. so indeed total cheapo option. Erik
  23. Hey Chris, That truly sucks royal ass my friend, thanks for the heads up. I'l keep my eyes peeled for a useless PM  How was the job besides that, were you tethered, what format etc ? -matt Found some images. Somehow I cannot upload any images anymore ????...., so here are 4 links : photo 1 photo 2 photo 3 3 Steadi photos.. 1 nice reporter girl from Sky. (much better then dutch reporter dude ;-) photo 4 Don't know..., still seems like a very nice job.. considering all the very lovely ladies ! B) Erik
  24. But that is just the strange thing.., as you all can see.. the pitcrew is also not dressed up with a fire suit as in the F1 !. If you look at a total shot, it seems that the Steadi Guy isn't suit up ! But it seems like indeed a killer job :D Erik
  25. Mark, Did you already looked at the Tiffen website ? 2 mini's availabel, 2995 or 3450 dollars ? http://www.steadicam.com/steadiUsed.html Best, Erik
