  4. Hello Diego, I think there is no difference between this stage and the one on the Archer2. Tiffen can answer your question about upgrade with motors, i think it can be done. Best, Erik

  7. Yes i mean the 75 ohm terminator switch, no idea where it is located. Was the screen cold, i mean several greenscreens has some troubles with cold in the past, at least my screens did ..
  8. Hi Sam, Did you the 75ohm switch? Cheers, Erik
  9. Hey guys, I have looked, touched+ 'tested' it on the IBC last september .. it seems very sensitive, they were located at a booth near the Tiffen booth, so i just asked if i can try to fit it on a rig. Nice guys, don't speak englisch very well but they were very cooperative. It is a complete kit, you get 2 magnets, 1 strip for above the the monitorscreen (where you can place that small long led part (which is called remote)) and 1 round magnet which is for the other part. It is powered by 'digital watch battery' and a AA battery.. I tried to order on their website but i have no clue in what 'zone' i'm located (the Netherlands) .. For this money, it is a nice little gadget and imho a usefull product. ps. I don't think they have asked permission for that image of Ed Moore flying a Steadicam Mini .. :)
  10. The salesrep was busy with answering questions asked by Kareem La Vaullée .. a friend from Kareem went on walking in the hall to test distance. I think about approx 10 meters from the booth the signal was bad.. and ofcourse due all the interference in the hall  Another 'stupid' thing was (at least to me) .. only 1 simple receiver on the show and meanwhile they shout from the roof that + 256 receivers is possible, so i expected at least 2 receivers, 1 on little director monitor and a other for video village. And ofcourse a price tag for a add-on second receiver, so price per receiver .. no info yet pfffff B)
  11. In my humble opion, just run the camera from it's own battery on the back.. Cheers, Erik
  12. Simple, buy the Janice Cage.. You can try to use diving weights before the cage is at your doorstep.. (for practice only ofcourse ;) ) Cheers, Erik
  13. Looks awesome Martin.. seems a inspiration for me to collect a rig part by part also.. Enjoy Flying :)
  14. Hi all, Well, it seems my steady days are at least for 2012 are over.. have to 'focus' on 'more' important work which is in IT and not in AV :( Anyways, have sold a lot of goodies the last months and this one is the last sofar: HOFO package in very good condition. - All possible extra's for this kit are present except for 1 extra red nut. - + 1 ptap -> 4xlr cable. It has been used on several shoots including some national television commercials in both focus or iris setup. Also nice to use in combi with other kits as remote iris for director.. Average europe prices are for all this about 2100 / 2200 euro. Thanks for your attention
  15. Hi Kat, Maybe you add some 'live-television footage' from that Gayle King Show? .. but nice reel Cheers, Erik
  16. Well, there are a lot of people who i know with personal experiences with Howard. In my opion he is just sad. A sad person with a sad way of communication and doing business. I have said it often and will say it again: Why has every serious Stabilizer brand all or all most all equipment with prices on their websites and / or brochures? To let you know what kind of price to expect, if it fits business wise and / or your budget is capable to buy the equipment. If it is not, well.. you know what you need to save up for the coming time :) Howard is 180 degrees different. He wants to know first: if you have money, how much money and he then makes the decision if he will sell you the equipment yes or no ..
  17. Well, first of all.. i don't own a Zephyr. I was excited about the rig but it is on the market for almost a year now and i have seen, heard several horror stories about the Gimbal + post clamp. On paper and in real life the clamps look very sexy.. but that's about it. Today i saw another quote: 'yeah man.. The clamp became so tight I dun dare to lock or unlock. For now I am using Allen keys. Sometimes when I do a whip pan the whole gimbal will give way and change position.. Omg lol' This particular operator can still 'laugh' about it but i think i'm scared about this rig. Maybe Tiffen should consider to loose the sexy clamps and replace them with old fashion clamps.. the phrase 'no-tools' is... well.. Just saying, Erik
  18. Hi David, The best way to get as close as possible to the ground would be a cage.. you can buy them from several suppliers, the cage will loose you some payload but get the camera easy 20 to 30cm closer to the ground. Cheers, Erik
  19. I really love this quote Stefano.. finally someone who says it like it is (I.M.H.O). :) But i have wondered many many times about several shoots (also from the past ofcourse) which were done with stone age equipment but with wonderfull results. I'm in the market for a bigger rigs and it is possible that i will settle for the next years again with again a older system like that SK2 i had. I did some really nice shots with that oldskool rig (3A style gimbal) which i did not believe when i watched playback.. Oldskool rules :) just my worthless 2 eurocents
  20. Hi Karsten, Well, it is understandable that you are a bit afraid. But if you are serious in entering the big league, then go for it and spent every euro you have and maybe take a loan to make it happen. Don't forget, if for some reason within 1 year or 2 it is not working out but you bought A list stuff, then you have always the possibility to sell it for maybe at least 80% (or more) of the new price. Buy Tiffen, Pro, Betz, Sachtler.. all superb brands and combine these to get yourself a awesome rig. If you decide in the near future to stop operating, these brands will sell easy for very good money :) For example Glidecam and Easy Steady makes very very nice stuff.. but 'sometimes' the value is dropping a lot faster (don't know about Easy Steady yet, to new...) The same goes for your ABC system (it is on Ebay right now?) Enjoy those testflights..
  21. Hi Marco, Several nice solutions, nice option is Sachtler: Bracket: http://shop.artemis-hd.com/en/Brackets/Telescopic-Monitor-Arm-incl-Clamp.html Kit for Cinemonitor IIIA http://shop.artemis-hd.com/en/Brackets/Monitor-Mount-/-Cine-IIIA-SB.html Cheers, Erik
  22. Well, flying the system / arm twice for about 15/20 minutes is not really a long test but it was a nice experience. I flown 2 configurations, the 'pro-series' arm with only 2 light canisters + the lite one sled and the complete 'pro-series' configuration with the arm loaded with 2 heavy and 2 light canisters. Total payload was about +16kg. The arm is very smooth and responsive and a joy to operate. Only downside is that the weight of the arm is a bit to much. To be honest, i have no idea how much a Pro GPI arm weighs but the Easysteady arm weighs more then the Tiffen G-70 arm. You should try before buy.. they have a dealer in Munich :)
  23. The 'old' Flyer monitor which i believe is now once again part of the SD Zephyr package has 2 inputs.. maybe you are trying to watch a signal on the wrong input. Just keep pressing that button to input 1.. Just a idea..
  24. I think just by (re)checking the online manual that those 2 expansion ports are just for 1 extra power port and some sort of tally port. You should be able to simply open the topstage and check if there is 'extra' wiring in there.. it is one of those selling points i remember Peter Abraham mentioned in many videoclips about the Zephyr.. (open the stage and switch sdi / sd port if you wish) btw: that last 'option' seems weird or impossible imho :(
  25. Nope, the 7D has a composite output as well.. it's a A/V cable with some typical canon connector to 3 RCA's on the other side, red, white and yellow for video ;) The 5D has a 'normal' mini jackphone plug to these same 3 RCA's.. Take a look at this nice pdf: http://wolfvid.com/datasheets/FAQ_CANON_7D_VideoAssist_Notes.pdf Cheers, Erik
