  1. impressive.. at 00:53/00:54 i saw a glimp from you and that pace is fast!
  2. Yes John, the F bracket is for the Mini, Flyer, SK, Provid, (Archer), Pilot, Zephyr.. all the same post size :) Enjoy those low flights and fly save...
  3. Sofar the Zephyr Vest seems not to be for sale as single item. But Tiffen has the Flyer Vest for sale as a single item for years now.. The Flyer Vest was 1595,- us dollars i think.. so maybe they will start to sell the Zephyr for something like 2595,- or 2995,- us.. You can always ask Tiffen. (it's a lovely vest btw :) )
  4. Well, you can guess and comment what you want, i have seen some remarkable shots done by this little so basic stabilizer things.. There are some ops who have done amazing (slow)creepy shots and fast shots during Weddings with a Glidecam 2000/4000 and what to think about those videos with high speed skateboarding shots.. and these ops wear skates themselfs :) These guys just shows us what is possible with lowcost but good stuff.. if it is 'always safe' well.... ;) Just mho
  5. Hi All, Sometime ago there was a discussion about suppliers in general about quality and most important customer service. I replied in that discussion that i like for example the fact to known the list price of any particular steady item at front so that you always have a certain pricepoint for your future buys.. But i just checked the most known of all, the Tiffen Company. Sofar i can see, for all rigs the phrase now is: 'Call Customer Service for Pricing - 631 273 2500' Would love to hear what the reason for this is? Imo this is 'stupid' development ... :(
  6. I have been following Pete his Remote Follow Focus adventure since the start... For my own small projects i've got his first system, the HoFo which i enjoy ever since i received it at home. Even for the bigger projects i have used this kit a couple times as a remote iris system which worked quit well.. But now back to this 'new' lovely HoFoPro kit: Last year i visited Pete at the IBC and i was really curious about the PRO version. It was a pleasant suprise.. and now, 12 months later with several redesigns and updates it is almost finished and ready for the world. The Transmitter is a big improvement, it's a lot slimmer then the previous one at IBC2010. The motor back then was fast but this one is even faster. Formula1 speed at your lens. Most important, it's quiet..very very quiet. For me personal it would be nice to own a digital system. It must be a utter joy to swap your lens, hook up motor, auto calibrating, place the 'correct' marking ring on the transmitter and you are done !!! With this kit your Focus Puller would hug you after every lens swap :) At the IBC we have tested the system at several lens / camera suppliers. The motor is very strong, it handled Zeiss, Arri and Angineux lensens without any problem. Overall, it is a nice professional kit with a very good buildquality and impressive performance..
  7. Yes, that's the correct cable. If your Scout package is complete, you should have the (make from the yellow rca connector a bnc connector) plug in your kit. You should have a picture on your scout screen now :) Cheers, Erik
  8. this is so sad news :( I am so sorry for your loss Hugo..
  9. Hahaha Alfeo.. you can push the LIKE button on Facebook as Jess is there present also. I did.. but also via this forum, CONGRATS JESS :) .. a beautful boy :) Cheers, Erik
  10. Steadicam SK2 system in great condition, but ofcourse with some small user marks. Reason for this sale is that i'm looking at the near future and my businessplans for the coming time. Sadly enough to achieve this, the rig has to go :( Even it's a rig from the 90's.. it flies very very well and can handle a nice payload. What's in the package? - Steadicam Sled - Steadicam Vest - Steadicam Arm (single action) - Steadicam Lowmode kit - Steadicam Dovetail - Steadicam Arm bag - Steadicam Softcase - Steadicam Sandbag - Steadicam Vest bag (new) - 2pin LEMO to 4pin XLR cable - Video cable.. - Steadicam Archer Docking Bracket ! - Extra 2 buckles as backup for vest - Extra kiplever on stage as tiny upgrade, orginal also present - Extra weight plate, 2 plates combined are approx 6.6lbs - 2 brand new NP1 batteries including charger from SWIT (still 3 months warranty + receipt ofcourse ) - Steadicam SK Video tape + this on DVD also. This system handles weights between 9lbs & 20lbs Get yourself a nice bargain for only 3000,- euro ONO !
  11. Hi Patric, Feel welcome on this very informative board. You can find here a world of steady knowledge and we look forward to your contribution :) One of the forumrules is to use your realname in your member name.. Cheers, Erik
  12. Hmmmm a bit harsh there Kelso imo + get the facts correct! The X-22 is a midrange rig and cannot be compared with the Smooth-shooter. The gimbal can move up and down just like any serious rig can. The stage is a nice design only the base is simple + there is only 1 SDI cable in the post and no power cables. Thats makes it a basic rig. However the arm performance is superb.. it is smooth as butter and is really the most beautiful part of the rig in total. The vest is not really good, the Zephyr Vest will win here for sure. However, before the Zephyr came out.. in the 20 - 25lbs range the X-22 was/is a nice buy for sure!!! Just my 2 cents, Erik
  13. Close but no cigar, you are STILL making it to difficult. Why is everyone so damned concerned with finding the CG of the camera then placing it 1/2" behind the center of the center post? in the last 10 years that I have be using my "90 Degree Drop" method of dynamic balance i have NEVER ONCE "found the CG of a camera" before I built the rig much less used a freaking ruler. You are creating work that gains you NOTHING. Here's what you do: With nothing mounted to the camera stage, (no follow focus, no camera, no camera plate, no cables) Lay the rig on it's side and balance the batteries and monitor until the lower section is balanced so that it neither rolls to the monitor or the batteries. Build the camera to the rig with all the accessories that you are going to use find a rough side to side on on the built camera and mount the camera to the Camera Mounting plate Put said camera on the Upper camera platform (Stage) and mount the accessories that you normally fly off the stage (MDR, Preston interface) Set a 3 second drop time (which is a proper drop time for most work) Balance the stack side to side (using the stage adjustments) Balance the stack to hang level fore and aft with the camera mounting plate in the stage (you did zero the stage to it's center position before you started this, Right?) Spin the rig and Guess what? You are in dynamic balance. It took all of 60 seconds to do it. Want to double check your work? Bring the post up to level, pan it 90 degrees so that the batteries and monitor are level to the floor and drop, everything should stay in place, the post should not rotate as the gimbal rolls to level. oh and guess what again.... You will NEVER have to change your dynamic balance again, you can put any payload on the top, adjust for a 3 Second drop and the rig will STAY in dynamic balance FOREVER I dynamic balanced my XCS Ultimate when I bought and have never done it again. People who claim that this is rocket science are wrong I cannot begin to tell you the number of people I have taught this to in the last few years that have looked at me and said "Really? it's that simple" as their rig is sitting there spinning flat all day long. Maybe besides explaining your method in plain text you can explain your method with a small video also?
  14. Hi Nils, Neighbour Erik here :) This is 200% a scam advertisement. These are 'stolen' pics from the Steadicam Master Elite from Jammie Hammond. Take a look at: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Steadicam-Master-Kit-Klassen-Remote-Focus-Iris-Arri-/180681785214?pt=UK_Consumer_Professional_RL&hash=item2a11793f7e Cheers, Erik
  15. Hi Ben, You can use the Datavideo DAC-9 converter. Nice kit, i have used it without any problems.. : http://www.datavideo.us/products/audio-video-converters/dac-9-hdmi-to-hd-sd-sdi-converter.html Approx price is about 350,- euro Only thing is, it likes regulated 12V input. So 13.8 or more.. don't think that's a good idea, be carefull Cheers, Erik
  16. Hi Richard, The HOFO is a great unit for the DSLR camera's + Broadcast camera's. It has a strong motor and the kit is complete, handset, receiver, motor + cables and extra's in a nice case. I have used it last april for a videoclip. The lenses i used were the L series from Canon and 2 superspeeds. For me personal it was extra handy that the receiver can be powered via XLR4 (my SK2 Sled power cable) and on the smaller Pilot Sled i powered with the help of a Sony Z1 camera battery. You can't go wrong with the unit. Cheers, Erik
  17. First of all, i'm not a MK-V equipment owner, had some contact with Howard in the past (even a couple weeks ago for price info about those new upgrades for old skool rigs) but these contacts never resulted in buying stuff. Maybe that is just because i'm a 'poor' parttime operator and don't have enough cents to spent ? Sadly enough, this is just a continuous soapstory since early 2008/2009 with really bad actors. 3 years ago Howard screamed from the roof, the new HD-SDI V3 system is here: -MK-V announces the new HD-SDI V3 J & D-Box system. -MK-V has the ALL New V3 electronics system on line. -The V3 system has new and improved Video DA electronics, up the post tally and HD-SDI. -As well as the standard: 12v & 24v, SD Video and AR comms lines. A lot of ops were ofcourse thrilled.. and soon pissed because of wiring problems, powerloss problems, signal problems like HD-SDI etc etc.. I hope for you Tomas it will be sorted out. MK-V could for start sent you a replacement Sled which is really working (i doubt that to be honest) and get the situation fixed for all those other operators outthere with simular technical difficulties.. Hopefully the soapstory ends now and will not go on for so long as the world turns..
  18. Yes, Terry is always a good option! Also check out this: http://dolgin.net/zen_dolgin/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=11&products_id=31 I bought mine 2.1mm dc power to EX1 power plug, nice service and quick delivery..
  19. Hi Chris, If your kit is complete, you should have a power cable in the kit with the 2.1mm power connector attached. Just buy yourself a female xlr4 connector and attach it to the cable.. Best, Erik
  20. don't worry about the arm, more worry about the gimbal. However, awesome setup Mike. Congrats to you ... :)
  21. I have tried the ACT 2 vest the last 3 years at the IBC. It is a very comfort vest and the best i have tried out sofar. It would be lovely if PRO is available on the next IBC with a complete set...
  22. Well.. was looking at the website again, and now it says this: •9 to 23lbs.(4 to 10.4kg) net camera weight This is in the price pdf also.. I think Mark his fine tests and reporting back to Tiffen caused this adjustment? The starting weight is also modified. This was already going on with the Flyer LE arm.. that arm was nice working from 8 lbs and more .. and not the quoted 5 lbs. This Zephyr rig caused a lot of talking
