  1. They will not tell.. they will receive a BIG discount buying a new rig.. for not telling us...:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Just messing with you all, Best Erik
  2. Hi Marc, Try Marco from Italy.. : http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=10155&st=0&p=46895&fromsearch=1entry46895
  3. Hi Adam, 2 years ago i tried for the first time a XDCAM on the 'old' 15 lbs Flyer. It flew like a dream. The camera used was the XDCAM PDW530 SD camera. No viewfinder and no battery, it was approx 14 lbs.. Just go for the Flyer LE and score some extra power/video in/outputs via custommade jbox. Cheers, Erik
  4. WOOOOOT Cool job Mike. Very nice videos btw hahahaha. But, i think we have some lovely lady operators on board here, maybe next time hire them   Go ladies ! Cheers, Erik
  5. Seems that indeed Tiffen had or still has a lease / payment option. Maybe this is old information if you look at the rigs they sold at that period but worth the try.. : http://www.steadicam.com/manuals/Origami4-2k3.pdf Cheers, Erik
  6. just like i said.. rumors also on other boards.. and in my opion the fact they sell the LE Sled now apart besides the complete kit. I would like to see them sell also the arm apart from the kit. Just like the vest. That way people can replace parts if needed. You pay $4,895.00 for the Sled alone. That means $3,100,- is left for the arm and vest if you look at the startersrig price of $7,995.00... The vest itself sells for $1595,- which makes about $1500,- is left for the arm. In my opion $4,895.00 is a lot of money for just a Flyer Sled, even if it is for the LE Sled. For that money you can get alternative Sled´s with more options and even useable on a Flyer arm and vest.. But the update, like i said.. curious just like all of you... and i can be totally WRONG
  7. Hi Roman, First a very welcome on this nice informative forum. Please enjoy your stay here :) Second, sofar as i know there is no way to lease a Tiffen rig. Alternatives: Sachtler with the Artemis range have a lease option, but i think it is only for german people. MK-V mentioned something about lease or credit option on their website. Good luck, Best, Erik
  8. There are some rumours in the community about a future upgrade by Tiffen on the Flyer LE Sled is in place soon. I my humble opion some xtra evidence is presented on the Tiffen website, particular on the Flyer page. Tiffen now sellls the Flyer LE Sled stand alone also.. ! This can be a upgrade path for first and second generation Flyer owners to get a 2 section post, 12/24V & a nice bigger gimbal as a upgrade for there rig. Curious about the future upgrade... maybe at the NAB ? Best, Erik
  9. Guys... Take a look at the date.. I have opted for the Sled ages ago and it was already SOLD !! Erik
  10. Hi Lars Erik, It this a ´new´ low-mode handle or a already used one ? When i bought the Flyer LE i also ordered the lowmode kit again. The stupid thing was, i had the same problem you are describing now.. but this was because the part of the low-mode handle was 180 degrees backwards. This means, if you try to put in the pin from the other side, it will fit. But now, the handle is placed between the gimbal and post. (now that i´m typing this, i´m pissed i forgot to make a photo of it... ) I corrected it by carefully unscrew the post part in the clamb, turned it 180 degrees and tightenend it again.. Oh well, this is just 1 ´failure´ of the xx failures i had pffff  Maybe i can photoshop the error... EB
  11. Ya....I little late, half of America is already infected... :-( good looking out though thanks Yep.. shouldn´t be a really big problem, just change your password asap ! Do a double check, delete all mail in box and maybe go over all your privacy settings again.. Erik
  12. To bad Brian.. damn those suckers ! Hopefully your insurance will be fine and you can lookout for another kit.. Take care, Erik
  13. Good job Mike.. congrats to you and your lady !
  14. good job DAVID !!!! Congrats and enjoy, they grow up FAST ! Best, Erik
  15. Hey Jay, Try the HoFo from Pete: www.HocusProducts.com He is a nice guy, gifted and build his own system. Best, Erik
  16. Hey all, Was cruising vimeo and found following video: http://www.vimeo.com/8053132 In this clip they use a alternative rickshaw but in this case, he is standing in it. It seems to me that standing is not the way to go and looks dangerous.. Best, Erik
  17. Hey Gus, thanks... And that is just a minor part of it hahahaha.. i watched for more then 1 hour in total horror. Erik
  18. Like, at the same time? ;) It happends all over the world Erik. I know of a facillitie house overhere who recently bought a new clipper 2 and gives it free with fresh operator on there tv shows. So called to get experience, and at the same time screw us all. Oh well, F*&(& em, never do rent a thing from them ever again. Hey Job, it was a steadicam brand for sure.. i thought it was a ultra base i saw in a flash.. but can be the clipper. As i can see from the shadow of the operators, it was a Ikegami live camera with a big wireless antenne on top.. I have record some of it, will try to get it internet friendly and post some of it on the board. I was really in shock..
  19. Like, at the same time? ;) haha Chris that´s funny. Nope, they were taking over from each other. So when op nr1 was getting ready to capture the walk of the swimmers to the start, i saw op nr2 waiting while holding his arm in restingmode. So, 2 ops, 2 vests and 2 arms and 1 sled. Erik
  20. update 2 : Maybe i´m really confusing right now, but it seems 2 operators, operating together with 1 rig.. Best, Erik
  21. update: - he is fighting bad balanced rig - he has 200% grip on post - he has 50% grip on gimbal Level is all over the place, swaying like he has been drinking .. Handheld can do this even better .. In these cases i always wonder, how on earth is it possible he is doing that job overthere ? This is really bad advertisement for the comunity !
  22. Watching ´live´ European Championship swimming in Istanbul. Not really sure what rig is used but the operating is bad, very bad... If you have the chance to tune in, watch it and let me hear your opion, Best, Erik
  23. Yes indeed, he is operating a Flyer LE. I checked out his website when it was online...
  24. Wow.. that seems a very reasonable amount of money. For 200K equipment ? .. I think for myself the risks are to high but maybe i´m just ´chicken´.. Having a own home, a lovely wife and 2 kids growing up fast and about to go highschool / university.. i cannot afford to even try. But i´m repeating myself, comfortable enough in my current position. And if i ran into a nice, bigger job.. i try to rent a rig from Job or Chris. And about the jobs, sofar i can see, it´s here the same ´a few jobs and already plenty operators´ and ofcourse guys like Job who works like 80 hours a week  Best, Erik
  25. Hey Job, Well.. was i also talking about you ? ? ? .. yep, no suprise hahaha.. But my little story was more talking about both worlds, here and overseas in the bigger markets. In my case, it´s simple realism, lack of (work)time, lack of money and do get me right.. i´m NOT complaining.. Sofar i´m comfortable in the small market. ps1.. btw, i can remember you were total in love with that copycat for some time..(at least here ! ! ) ps2.. yep thnx for the offer, 2 serious rigs within 30km.. maybe in the future who knows
