  1. Bought these cans new in a full set last summer. Never used them and I just don't think I will. They haven't been used and are shiny new. They are the new style with no windows. Pro sells for $3300 Yours for $2850 obo kevin@denversteadicam.com
  2. Agree with Mike, if you want it bad enough do whatever it takes to get the money. High interest is nothing if you can tackle the debt quickly. Our business uses expensive equipment and theres nothing we can do about that, but we can try to own the best gear possible which will help us do our jobs better. And yes, I was being sarcastic ; ) Be humble, and you will stand out from the crowd rather than meshing into the LA grime.
  3. Ryan, I was in your same position last year. The poor communication scared me off and I bought another brand. I know I dodged a huge bullet by doing so and am REALLY glad it worked out like it did. Best of luck in your gear purchase.
  4. James, regardless of what you want or even need out of a rig, what is your budget? It's easy for people to point you in the direction of Zephyr's etc, but if your budget is truly under 1K, then the point is moot. If $900 for a stabilizer is what you can afford, then the CAME unit may work for your needs and your productions. You should try to demo one or buy it with a return guarantee. It looks like it flies cameras according to the demos, and even if it dies after a year, hopefully you've made enough on jobs to upgrade. But at $900 it should be considered an expendable piece of your kit that may not owe you anything in the long run.
  5. Yup, same thing happened to my EFP after a few years of use. There is a screw that faces forward recessed into the front of the top stage. Tighten and enjoy. It controls the play or lack thereof in the top stage x-y assembly.
  6. I need that! Seems like it will get the arm's boom range a good workable height for me since I'm 6'2 and most actors are shorter. Also lower on low mode.
  7. I've always done 30 day invoices but this is a very interesting conversation. I've never thought to ask for checks on the day, and wonder how many productions would actually do that. Bigger companies usually have no problem paying, but yes I agree, smaller unknowns should paying on the day. I only have about one or two issues a year with getting payed. I can be very persuasive ; )
  8. For low-low mode you can't help but operate above the gimbal (unless you have a longer than standard post) I find I'm controlling the sled somewhere around where the gimbal grip clamps the post when in low-low mode. That's around 6 inches away from the cg. It definitely takes a lighter touch but it can be done with great success with fingertip control. This is why I've always liked the idea of the Ultra2 and it's multiple post extensions. Lots of manufacturers are starting to fatten and expand their posts it seems. Good signs for the future.
  9. My Titan is #652 and I believe I got it just before the new lead time went into effect.
  10. Let me ask this, as a freelancer, is it preferable to pay quarterly estimated taxes based on last years income? Or pay at the end in April? Or some other method?
  11. Hey Mike, do you have any advice about helping to keep the tx cooler when in hot sunny environments?
