It looks like he/she will have a focus puller :) see the focus control on the rig ??It looks as if they are shooting on 5D's as well omg ? As you say Steve " producers don't care as long as its cheap and looks "OK"... -

You are very lucky Kevin . I did hear somewhere that Don may consider selling just the Potentiometer to people as it seems to be the main problem in many of his motors that I have had .I hope that it is true .I hope thing turn around for him as we all know customer support is everything . I have sent Don this link .

I have been having great success with the Boxx over long distance with this large 200x 200 receiver antenna .I also have made a receiver bracket where I have 4 x 20x20 antennas which also extend the range greatly . Boxx every time for me .I have never used them on OB's but I don't own a broadcast receiver . Good luck Louis Puli

Hi Pascal A BFD system is a great brand and something which you will not need to upgrade for a long long time .$2500 is a fare price for this system with a M26p Heden motor . As to warranty etc When I first started all of my kit was 2nd hand .The most important thing to do is what ever you are buying I get the seller to send the system back to the maker(or reseller ) of the item and get them to go over the system (Yes there would probably be a fee for their time but MONEY well spent ) Or it you know a operator who could check it out for you would also be a good start. I have had BFD's systems since 2000 (s/n 23 and many others ) and it still works great . If the system came with a M1 motor you would be looking at around $3K to $3.5K and more depending on what cables and other brackets etc etc $4K-$4500K When you think Well this is an investment in my future and brands like BFD's hold there value this will be money well spent . Good luck Louis Puli

Hands free / steadiseg for rental in New Zealand?
Louis Puli SOC replied to matthew pearce's topic in Vehicles and Mounts
Hi Matthew A friend of mine Martin Stacey is in Auckland NZ how has a segway he may rent to you .He is on the forum or send me a email and I will forward all his details to you .He also has a AR and all the toys ok. -
"I can honestly say that once you have presented the 'boxx' to different clients, there is no going back... zero delay, no ( and I mean no) drop outs.. cementwall, up and down staircases... no drop out.. ( not sure about the radiationlevel.. but I have all the children I need ;-)" Flemming said it all .I have 2 Boxx Meridians 1st at a rental house which go's out all the time on commercials and ( has paid for itself )and the 2nd one I use .When I get DP's saying when we used the last guy his Tra/Rec was breaking up and the client video had issues BUT with your system it just worked ."I look forward to working with you again " How much money is that worth to you ? I have the standard Meridian Tra/Rec (not with the broadcast controls an extra $18K) I to like everyone else are looking forward to trying out all these new toys and I hope the new system will be as solid as the Boxx. just my 2 cents.

Which model for a stripped RED Scarlet?
Louis Puli SOC replied to Michael Solomon's topic in Steadi-Newbies
I would spend your money with your local operators .You say you don't need Focus controls , Transmitters ,hard mounts ,etc ,etc where in fact you do if you could afford it right. How about a Fig Rig very little skill required in comparison and much cheaper . -
You mean this bracket :) http://www.betz-tools.com/acc_monitor-bracket.php

Switching to Klassen Vests and the New Carbon Fiber. Anyone?
Louis Puli SOC replied to Dave Chameides's topic in Vests
Hi Dave With the release of Chris Fawcett's and Tiffens "Exovest " any day now have you tried it yet ? For me I have only used Walters vest several times and yes it is very well made etc,etc But I found the weight of the vest to be the heaviest out there .At the other end I would say that Chris's would be the lightest out there (for big rigs). For me this is a Big issue when you consider how we are always trying to reduce every where else. -
Hi Sandro I hope you did a search on this topic as there is many pages on this topic and tests by many ops using all types of systems. Like everything in this industry depending on where you are working will determine who much you should spend .Osvaldo covered all the top end systems (real broadcast HD)and Victor has covered most of the others non broadcast systems . Who much do you want to spend? Personally for the type of work I do (commercials,tv drama, features)I have replaced my Modulus with the Boxx Meridian .For me spending a little more if you want SILENCE from video village is money well spent . just my 2 cents .

What would you share / rent in an emergency
Louis Puli SOC replied to Peter Abraham's topic in General Discussion
I think this is a great idea as my son James said there is the SOA data base and I think that (for me )works will .When ever I shot overseas I always make a list of local op's and contact them .I would suggest if you haven't put your details there to do so . -
Hi Victor A friend of mine added a battery distribution system to his top stage and in doing so rewired his system to work with it. Here is a still of what he did.www.remoteaudio.com Good luck Louis
