  1. If money is tight and you want a good stabilizer to start out with, you might want to take a look at the Indicam Pilot. IMHO, it is the best bang for the buck at its price point and for all of the features it offers. If you have the money and want more high end features like a bottom mounted LCD, micro-adjustable top stage, and socket block adjustments, take a good look at the Steadicam Pilot. I am currently in between rigs so I have both at the moment. They both have their pros and cons so its a matter of what your needs are. Hope this helps, Peter
  2. Just to update this thread, I was able to modify the velcro straps to buckles. I also modified the arm keeper strap to have a quick release buckle, too ;) Attached are some photos. Enjoy!
  3. I want to modify my Steadicam Pilot vest to use quick release buckles instead of velcro. It doesn't seem many people have modified the Pilot yet since it's so new but I've read of other vests being modified in a similar fashion and was wondering if you could share your experience/advise. I found straps and buckles but there are several options to choose from. First is the type of material the straps are made of. There is: Cotton, Cotton with nylon core, Polypropylene, Nylon, Ultra abrasion-resistant nylon, Polyester, Polyurethane-coated polyester, Nomex, and Kevlar. What sort of properties should I look for in the strap? What width should the straps be? How much length do you think I need? The next question is how to secure the straps/buckles to the vest itself. Do you sew them on, use rivets, grommets, or some other method to fasten the straps? Thank you so much. Any other tips/advice/warnings would be greatly appreciated as well.
  4. Thanks, Robert. I will give them a call. I just thought it was a bit strange that the emails were undeliverable and bounced back. ... actually, I took a closer look at the error message and it looks like they blocked the message because I was an "unknown sender."
  5. Hi, I just got a Steadicam Pilot and I had a few questions so I tried contacting Tiffen directly through the emails listed on their Contact page: support@tiffen.com and techsupport@tiffen.com I ended up emailing both addresses because the first one bounced back and then so did the other one. Does anyone know how I can get a hold of them or what their correct email address is? Thank you much, Peter

Have a great day! Peter
