  7. Mk-v owners how do you power the alexa from your sled? I've heard some are doing 12 and 24 volts across different manufacturers. I want to power a BFD and bolt from the sled as well. Waiting on a response from mk-v. Is a 12 volt alexa cable different from a 24 volt cable?

  10. Anyone in LA have a DB2 they would let me put on my rig? Looking for a bit more rigidity. Seeing if this might do it. thanks
  11. I had two delron spacers put on either side of the monitor that tied into the monitor screw holes to fill the gap. Mike Skipps did an amazing job constructing those. Highly recommended. The yoke is pretty big actually. Seems more ideal to cut the yoke down to size. I'll post a pic later. The yoke cost $265.
  12. I ordered a cinetronic yoke the other day and soon realized I was going to have some big problems getting it on my sled and ready for a shoot in two days. Lots of running and needed some more rigidity. Long story short, Mike Skipps came to the rescue in such a big way for me. He knows his stuff, kind, professional and easy to deal with. Amazing customer service for someone who only bought a yoke from them. The mount is rock solid and going to low mode is so much easier now. Do business with these people. They make great stuff and back it up. Also saw the new monitor screen with picture on it. Not much to say besides, WOW. The picture is stunning. thanks again guys. I will be back.
  13. I picked up a cinetronic yoke. I have a marshall vlcd 6.5" monitor. Their is considerable space between the edge of the monitor and yoke. I need to get a small bracket that fits on the sides of the monitor and bridges that gap and accepts the yoke's screws on the sides. Can anybody point me to someone in LA who could help me out with this?
  14. Chris got in touch with me. Crisis averted. Picking up the old one btw.
  15. Been trying to order a cinetronic monitor yoke and not getting any reply from them. I have the MK-V bracket so hopefully the the cinetronic spud will fit in there. Let me know if you have one available for friday. thanks all
  16. I checked those pieces on the inside of the post and they are tight. Top stage couldn't get any tighter. It seems that when I spread the masses vibration increases. When the masses are close vibration is pretty manageable. Honestly I like things a little spread out. Below is a pic of the monitor. Any thoughts on a way to bulk up that connection. Its 1 1/4 20 screw hanging onto the monitor and battery almost 4lbs. Thinking about a cinetronic yoke. The monitor really vibrates.
  17. I currently have 1.5" post and gimbal from MKV with a 3a type top stage. I'm getting vibrations and Im trying to figure out where they are coming from. My first guess is the post. However the top stage and monitor bracket/mount are also likely culprits. When the post is extended this amplifies the flex and vibration. I was thinking about getting a different top stage or xcs camera plate or larger post. Anyway if you have some time and a 2 inch post I'd love to try one out. Thanks and any suggestions are welcome.
  18. Finding my thin hdsdi cables I use on my sled aren't cutting it for some cameras and I'm not able to get a signal. What hdsdi bnc cable do you use and where can I buy it? I bought some that work but they are way too thick. Thanks
  19. Does anybody have a brite view or other consumer modded wireless system for rent? I'm in Missouri. Needs to be powered by DTap. loosecreek@gmail.com
  20. I saw this Hungarian film the other night. It is extremely slow with only 30 shots over the course of 146 minutes. It was a chore to get through, very bleak and very slow. The steadicam was amazing though. It takes place on a small farm during a very strong wind storm. The steadicam follows the characters around the farm through gale force winds most of the film. And they do some amazing long and subtle moves indoors. The operator was Tilman Buttner. (Russian Ark, Run Lola Run etc) The first shot might be steadicam, but for sure at :44. Its worth a watch, but a long one indeed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNkN_xCXozw
  21. On an Epic Anamorphic job. Got some fairly thin BNC that I normally use to run into post and out bottom to monitor but it doesn't seem to work with the Epic. I've tested larger cables from vid village and they seem to work fine with my rig. I'm going to get some different cables tomorrow. Thoughts.
  22. I have a low mode bracket for a pro arm. My mk-v gimbal handle doesn't have a hole in it to accept the pin to use the low mode bracket. Can I take it to a cnc guy to drill this? Should I take it to a cnc guy to drill this? Will I break anything? Do you guys use your low mode brackets? or just flip the sled over?
